Chapter 279  Lemira’s eyes flashed with an icy determination. She was resolute on making the culprit pay for their actions!  This time, Orion had nearly paid the ultimate price because of her. Had it not been for sheer luck and the fact that the car had been modified, Orion might have been in a much graver situation now.  “Lemon, let’s discuss this once you two are all healed up. Taking down your enemy requires patience. There’s no need to rush.”  Lemira shifted the conversation, “Can you take me to see Orion then?”  She needed to see for herself how badly Orion was injured.  “I’ll check on him first.”  Thaddeus returned quickly, “Come on, I’ll take you there. Can you manage?”  fine.”  Together, they made their way to Orion’s hospital room.  When she saw the man lying in the ICU, her eyes reddened, “Didn’t you say he was okay?”  “He’s mostly fine, just a bit more shaken up than you, a concussion. He needs to be watched a bit more closely. His family is really worried, so they insisted on the ICU.”  Lemira stood outside for a while, “I’ll come back when he wakes up.”  She vividly remembered how Orion had steered the wheel, protecting her during the crash. Otherwise, she wouldn’t have been left with just a minor cut on her forehead while Orion lay in the ICU.  Thaddeus sighed, “Let’s go. You should rest. Orion will probably wake up later.”  “Okay.”  As Lemira and Thaddeus were leaving, a stunning woman stepped out of the elevator.  Sophia looked at Thaddeus in surprise, “Thad, you’re here too? And who might this be?”  Thaddeus’s face drained of color upon seeing Sophia. “Just my luck,” he thought.  Thaddeus coughed slightly, “She, uh, she’s a friend of mine.”  Lemira glanced at the beautiful woman. Their eyes met briefly, but neither said a word. Yet, Lemira felt something was off.  As the elevator doors closed, Lemira turned to Thaddeus, “Who was that just now?”  “Just a friend of mine.”  Thaddeus felt overwhelmed, thinking it best to leave this situation for Orion to handle.  Lemira didn’t press further, though Sophia’s voice felt oddly familiar, almost as if she had heard it before, but she couldn’t place it.  Back in her room, Lemira received a message from Janice. [You missed the club evaluation today, why didn’t you come?]  Only then did Lemira remember the club’s evaluation. Seemed like she missed out.  Lemira replied. [Got sick and ended up in the hospital, couldn’t make it to the evaluation.]  She had hoped to expose Evelina’s true face today, but unforeseen circumstances had thrown a wrench in her plans.  If it hadn’t been for the Sinclairs stepping in to aid Evelina, the fake angel wouldn’t have escaped so easily.  But there was still time. Once she was discharged, there would be plenty of opportunities to settle scores with Evelina!  Lemira thought for a while, “Will Susanna face any consequences this time?”  “Probably, considering all the bullying videos and photos online. Wait, you didn’t have something to do with that, did you?”  “That’s right, I don’t believe the Sinclairs can cover the truth from the masses.”  Lemira didn’t deny it, considering Orion was O; Thaddeus would have figured out who she was by now.  “Lemon, didn’t know you had it in you. Thought you were just into Al, but you’re good at other stuff too.”  Lemira blushed slightly, “Actually, I learned a lot from you guys. I was just a kid back then, and you were the only ones who bothered  lot from  with me.”  To think Orion was 0.  Thaddeus felt a mix of nostalgia and surprise, realizing how early their paths had crossed. Fate worked in mysterious ways.  Thaddeus added after pondering for a moment, “Just be careful with the Sinclairs, don’t get caught. Susanna will definitely face  1/2  11:09  Chapter 279  repercussions.”  This was something Orion had specifically instructed. No matter what the Sinclairs did, it wouldn’t change the outcome.  “I know.”  After Thaddeus left, Lemira started searching for news on Susanna, only to find that, just like before, the news was suppressed.
