Chapter 357

W's gaze was dark and icy, exuding an air of defiance that was hard to ignore. His mate coach, irked by the confrontation, retorted, โ€œWhy should I apologize? You should be thanking me for warning you about these gold diggers.โ€

Oniorโ€™s eyes narrowed slightly, his hand reaching out only to be stopped by another. Leira stepped forward, locking eyes with the male coach. โ€œSounds like youโ€™ve been burned pretty bad in the past. With all this misogyny, you might as well crawl back into your motherโ€™s womb and save us the embarrassment?โ€

His disdain for women was palpable, yet he, too, was bored of a womanโ€™s struggle. The coachโ€™s face flushed with anger. โ€œSay that again?โ€

โ€œSo, by your logic, women are liars, right? That must mean your mother is a liar too, for deceiving your father and then giving birth to a piece of work like you.โ€

Leniraโ€™s words only fueled the coachโ€™s rage. The gym owner intervened, pushing the coach slightly. โ€œThatโ€™s enough. Want to end up in jail? We have cameras here.โ€

The coach shot Lemira a venomous look before storming off in a huff. Turning to Orion and Lemira, the owner spoke apologetically, โ€œI had no idea he was capable of this. I should have dealt with that memberโ€™s issue sooner.โ€

Who could have predicted this outcome? Orion remained silent, his displeasure evident. Lemira quickly spoke up, โ€œThese things happen sometimes. Itโ€™s not your fault.โ€

โ€œMs. Langston, I appreciate your understanding.โ€

Orion then spoke, โ€œIs that it?โ€ The owner, caught off guard by the question and realizing who he was dealing with, glanced around at the other coaches.

One of the coaches coughed, โ€œGiven itโ€™s an issue that arose in our gym, we should offer Ms. Langston some form of compensation, like waiving her membership fee for the year and her session fees.โ€

The owner nodded in agreement. โ€œRight, right. How could I forget?โ€

Lemira shook her head. โ€œThereโ€™s no need. Had I not taken matters into my own hands, this could have been avoided.โ€ But she wasnโ€™t one to back down, especially when thinking of others who could be harmed by such vile behavior.

Orion added, โ€œThereโ€™s no need to tolerate injustice. You did well.โ€ Lemira nodded, realizing she was still holding onto Orionโ€™s hand. She quickly let go, a bit flustered. โ€œAnd you were ready to throw punches!โ€

Orion, usually so composed, had shown a fiercer side. But Lemira had stopped him, knowing it wouldnโ€™t be wise under the watchful eyes of the cameras. Orion muttered something about the coachโ€™s insolence.

The coach, looking at Orionโ€™s wound, suggested, โ€œMr. Everhart, perhaps itโ€™s best to play it safe and get a tetanus shot.โ€ After all, as Orionโ€™s bodyguard rather than his coach, he couldnโ€™t bear the responsibility should anything happen.

Orion brushed it off. โ€œItโ€™s nothing.โ€ Lemira frowned. โ€œThis is not โ€˜nothing.โ€™ Youโ€™re going to the hospital now.โ€ Orion was clearly reluctant.

The owner then suggested, โ€œTake them both to the hospital to get checked out. Ms. Langston, your hand looks cut too.โ€ Orion immediately took Lemiraโ€™s hand. โ€œYouโ€™re hurt?โ€

Indeed, there was a cut on Lemiraโ€™s hand she hadnโ€™t noticed. โ€œI just need some antiseptic, no need for a hospital visit.โ€ But seeing the scabbed-over wound on Orionโ€™s arm convinced her he needed medical attention, possibly a tetanus shot.

The coach drove them to a private clinic. On arriving, Orion paused, wary of running into acquaintances.

The coach reassured, โ€œEverythingโ€™s been arranged.โ€ It was crucial that Orion, of his stature, faced no complications. They headed straight to the directorโ€™s office, and the floor was cleared upon Orionโ€™s arrival.
