Chapter 359

Oon flicked her forehead lightly. โ€œWhatโ€™s on your mind?โ€

โ€œNothing.โ€

Lemira didnโ€™t press further, but she was certainly going to make things even. Soon, they arrived outside the school. Lemira glanced at him. โ€œIโ€™ll head back to school then. Remember, donโ€™t get your arm wet for the next few days!โ€

Orionโ€™s brow furrowed, but he remained silent. Lemira dug into her bag and pulled out four band-aids, then carefully placed them around his wound. โ€œThere, that should do it.โ€

โ€œYou think youโ€™re laying down some kind of spell? These things waterproof or something?โ€

โ€œTheyโ€™re not, but theyโ€™ll let me know if youโ€™ve gotten the wound wet while showering.โ€

A triumphant smile played on Lemiraโ€™s face. โ€œIโ€™m off then.โ€

Orion watched her disappear into the school, glancing at the pink band-aids on his arm. He couldnโ€™t help but smirk. Childish, indeed. But he didnโ€™t remove them. He left them as they were.

It was only after Lemira had gone into the school that Orionโ€™s gaze darkened. His tone was dangerously low. โ€œWhere are those scumbags?โ€

In front of Lemira, he had restrained himself, but that didnโ€™t mean he was going to let it slide. The boxing coach glanced at his phone. โ€œCaught and taught a lesson already. Whatโ€™s your call on dealing with them?โ€

Orion rolled down his window, resting one hand casually by the frame, his fingers tapping lightly. โ€œStitch the gym coachโ€™s mouth shut as a warning to keep his mouth shut in the future. Then make them testify, ensuring that the scumbag rots in jail for life.โ€

The coach nodded. Scum like that deserved to be locked away, a menace to society. Orionโ€™s gaze drifted towards the dorms of Orvin University, his expression thoughtful. Thatโ€™s when his phone rang. Hesitating for a moment upon seeing the caller ID, he eventually answered, โ€œMom.โ€

โ€œI heard you got hurt?โ€

Orionโ€™s gaze deepened. โ€œItโ€™s nothing.โ€

โ€œYou think you can hide the hospital visit from me?โ€

He massaged his temples. โ€œJust a minor injury.โ€

โ€œIs it because of that girl again? Last time you had that car accident, she was with you too!โ€

โ€œItโ€™s not related to her.โ€

He knew visiting the Everhart familyโ€™s clinic would alert his family, but by then, it was too late to turn back without raising Lemiraโ€™s suspicions.

โ€œIf you really like that girl, I wonโ€™t stop you. Just bring her over for me to meet. Which familyโ€™s daughter is she?โ€

Orionโ€™s voice was heavy. โ€œThereโ€™s no need for that.โ€

โ€œDonโ€™t tell me her family background is average? Youโ€™ve always had high standards, with so many girls chasing after you. How could you fall for someone so ordinary?โ€

โ€œItโ€™s a different matter. And please, stop trying to investigate her.โ€

โ€œI would love to, but youโ€™re protecting her so closely, who could find out?โ€

Mrs. Amanda sounded a bit frustrated. After all this time, not a trace of information had surfaced, a testament to how well he was shielding her. If he wasnโ€™t serious, why go to such lengths?

After a short conversation filled with silence on both ends, Mrs. Amanda sighed and ended the call first. Orion looked at his phone, then dialed Matthew, immediately hearing bar music in the background.

โ€œWhere are you?โ€

โ€œBro, Iโ€™m at a bar. You coming?โ€

โ€œStay home these next few days, keep Mom company, and stop wandering outside.โ€

After hanging up, Orion felt relieved knowing Matthew would keep their mother occupied, away from prying into his matters.

The boxing coach, looking anxious, broke the silence. โ€œMr. Everhart, I shouldnโ€™t have taken you to that private clinic. It was my mistake!โ€ Hearing Mrs. Amandaโ€™s call, the coach realized the mistake of taking Orion to that clinic, too easily spotted by acquaintances.
