Chapter 389

Blood gushed out instantly, staining the floor beneath. Lemiraโ€™s breath hitched at the sight of the vivid red liquid. She couldnโ€™t believe Lucian had actually hurt himself! โ€œYouโ€™ve lost your mind?โ€ she exclaimed.

Hogan was equally shocked, hastily snatching the shattered porcelain shard from Lucianโ€™s grasp and pressing down on his wrist. โ€œBoss, how could you treat yourself so carelessly!โ€ Lucian, however, seemed oblivious to the pain. He fixed his gaze on Lemira. โ€œAfter Iโ€™m gone, the companyโ€™s all yours. Just remember to visit my grave on Memorial Day, thatโ€™s all I ask!โ€

Lemiraโ€™s hands slowly clenched into fists. Orion stepped in front of Lemira, blocking her view. He looked down at her. โ€œClosing your eyes.โ€ Lemira stood still, her eyelids drooping, only to see more blood pooling on the floor.

โ€œBoss, we need to get you to the hospital!โ€ Lucian remained motionless, stubbornly staring at Lemira. Hogan cried out in despair, โ€œMs. Lemira, please, letโ€™s get the boss to the hospital. He could die, for real!โ€

Lemira reluctantly closed her eyes. Why was everyone pressuring her? She stepped out from Orionโ€™s embrace and looked towards Lucian. She walked over to him. A glimmer of hope flickered in Lucianโ€™s eyes. He wanted Lemira to see the sincerity in his apology! He was willing to die for her!

Lemira approached Lucian and struck him on the neck, causing him to faint. Coldly, she said, โ€œTake him to the hospital.โ€ Hogan, no longer concerned with formalities, called in the bodyguards to carry Lucian away.

Asher, who had been waiting in the elevator, was shocked to see Lucian covered in blood. โ€œWhat happened?โ€ Hoganโ€™s voice broke. โ€œThe boss wanted Ms. Lemiraโ€™s forgiveness and took drastic measures.โ€ He had tried to advise Lucian, but to no avail. Otherwise, it wouldnโ€™t have come to this! Asher, too, was panicked, clumsily helping Hogan take Lucian to the hospital. Blood trailed from the office to the elevator.

Lernira, seeing the blood on the floor, turned away, unwilling to look. She hadnโ€™t expected Lucian to go to such extremes! Orion handed her a tissue and bent down to wipe the blood from her hands. โ€œThis was his choice. Donโ€™t let it affect you.โ€

โ€œYeah, Lemon, this is like emotional blackmail,โ€ Crion added, โ€œGuilt tripping.โ€ Thaddeus nodded. โ€œExactly. He hoped that by doing something so extreme, youโ€™d relent. We wonโ€™t fall for it!โ€

Temira took a deep breath, seeing him methodically cleaning her hands. Her eyelashes fluttered. She had always guarded against letting her feelings show. Yet, at this moment, they seemed to grow uncontrollably. Her heart tightened, and she quickly averted her gaze, fearing someone might notice.

After checking her hands were clean, Orion straightened up and casually disposed of the tissue. โ€œSo, are we done with work today?โ€ โ€œNot yet. Was planning to meet with everyone to discuss some bug fixes. Didnโ€™t expect the Langston family to storm in like that, causing all this trouble.โ€

Lemira looked somewhat uneasy. Brion suggested, โ€œHow about we meet in half an hour?โ€ Thaddeus hastily interjected, โ€œActually, thereโ€™s no rush. We could meet tomorrow.โ€ Canโ€™t you see Lemonโ€™s not in the best mood? Isnโ€™t it a bit cruel to work now?

Thaddeus desperately tried to signal Orion, but the man pretended not to notice. Lemira, however, shook her head. โ€œIโ€™m fine. Letโ€™s meet in half an hour.โ€
