Chapter 396

โ€œThen why did she ask that question?โ€

โ€œThatโ€™s none of your business, Matt.โ€

Matt, arms akimbo, shot back, โ€œHey, bro, youโ€™re the one begging me to play bodyguard for your wife. Better check that attitude, or I might just walk off this gig!โ€

Orion felt a twitch at his temple and, in one swift move, pinned Matt down on the bed.

โ€œOuch, ouch, ouch! Bro, you trying to commit fratricide or what? Iโ€™m telling Grandma you hit me!โ€

Orionโ€™s voice was eerily calm, โ€œWho was it that needed to watch their attitude?โ€

โ€œThat would be you. Youโ€™re the one asking for favors, hmph!โ€

Matt felt emboldened, thinking he could finally get one over on his brother with this leverage.

Orion simply dragged Matt out of the bed by his feet and out of the bedroom.

โ€œWeโ€™re gonna chat in the gym,โ€ he said, dragging him along.

Matt, unable to get up, screamed for his life, โ€œHelp, Mom, save me! Iโ€™m gonna die; my broโ€™s gonna beat me up!โ€

Mrs. Amanda, overhearing this, just turned her head towards the ceiling, โ€œI think I forgot to put on my face mask.โ€

Thus, Matt was dragged into the gym, followed by screams that soon filled the air. But the household staff were used to these antics and paid no mind.

Not long after, Matt emerged, shuffling along with a black eye and holding his backside, while Grandma and Mrs. Amanda were seated on the couch.

Sobbing, Matt complained, โ€œGrandma, he hit me!โ€

Grandma glanced at Orion, โ€œWhy are you hitting him again? No more of that.โ€

Orion coolly replied, โ€œJust checking if his skills have gotten rusty.โ€

โ€œYou were just looking for an excuse to hit me!โ€

Matt then turned to Mrs. Amanda, โ€œMom, you saw everything and did nothing?โ€

โ€œYour brother must have had his reasons,โ€ Mrs. Amanda said, barely concealing her amusement at seeing the little tyrant finally getting his comeuppance.

Matt, furious, exclaimed, โ€œI canโ€™t stay in this house anymore.โ€

He vowed to expose his brotherโ€™s antics at the upcoming gala, hoping it would ruin his chances with any potential girlfriends.

At the gala that evening, Lemira and Janice stepped out of their car, both dressed in stunning gowns.

Janice was thrilled, โ€œIโ€™ve never been to a gala like this. So many celebrities from different teams are here.โ€

โ€œWeโ€™ll get plenty of autographs to give out as rewards back home,โ€ Lemira said, equally excited, as she signed in for the Orvin University Team.

Lemiraโ€™s presence naturally drew attention, given her reputation. The Reapersโ€™ manager, Michel, had always wanted her on his team but never succeeded.

Lemira seized the opportunity to collect autographs.

Michel approached, โ€œYouโ€™re still collecting autographs? Plenty of people here would love yours.โ€

โ€œIโ€™m getting these for our team members, as gifts. Theyโ€™ve been making good progress lately.โ€

Michel sighed, โ€œWish you were on my team.โ€

โ€œItโ€™s a matter of ambition,โ€ Lemira replied, content with her role as captain of the Orvin University Team, fulfilling a dream she had harbored since her previous life.

Michel hesitated before mentioning, โ€œI heard about the Langston family troubles. You okay?โ€

โ€œIโ€™m fine. The Langstons brought their misfortunes upon themselves.โ€

โ€œA fitting end indeed. Lemira, youโ€™re becoming quite the renegade.โ€

At that moment, Lemira noticed two familiar faces approaching. Evelina and Caspian had arrived.

She hadnโ€™t expected Caspian to return so soon.

With a stern face, Caspian declared, โ€œLemira, now that Iโ€™m back, itโ€™s time for a proper lesson.โ€
