Chapter 429

Lemira glanced outside the door, a thought suddenly crossing her mind. Maybe it was time to put an end to all of this. She knew Caspian too well. If she kept refusing to admit her mistakes, this would never end. Now that she had gotten the clue from Asher, there was no need to tread lightly anymore.

That night, they were shooting a nighttime scene. The location was an abandoned building, capturing a moment where the antagonist lures the protagonist into danger, only for the hero to save her in the nick of time. After wrapping up the shoot, Lemira waited aside to remove her makeup, but the makeup artist seemed to ignore her completely. She could feel the cast and crewโ€™s disdain toward her.

No doubt Evelina had been spreading rumors and tarnishing her image, but Lemira didnโ€™t care. She wasnโ€™t interested in the showbiz world anyway. As everyone began to leave the set, Lemira had no choice but to grab some makeup remover and cleanse her face herself before leaving the building.

โ€œLemira, stop right there!โ€

Caspianโ€™s face was livid as he approached her, his gaze dark and ominous. โ€œI heard youโ€™ve been collecting dirt on me, planning to expose me and ruin my reputation?โ€

Seeing the taser in Caspianโ€™s hand, Lemira took a few cautious steps back. โ€œWho told you that?โ€

โ€œIt doesnโ€™t matter who told me. What matters is that Iโ€™m going to teach you a lesson today. You better not run or youโ€™re dead.โ€

Without a second thought, Lemira turned and ran. Caspian wasnโ€™t alone; he had ten tattooed men with him. Most of the crew had already left the abandoned building, leaving no one to help.

โ€œLemira, you canโ€™t escape. Just come and apologize, and I might go easy on you.โ€

โ€œBut if you keep running, donโ€™t blame me for what happens next.โ€

After running for a while, Lemira found herself surrounded by the tattooed men. She turned to face the approaching Caspian. โ€œSeems like you havenโ€™t changed, Caspian. Always resorting to violence when things donโ€™t go your way.โ€

โ€œWhen you were a kid, I had to discipline you for your own good.โ€

Caspian, holding the taser, slowly approached Lemira. His smile was chilling. โ€œWhy arenโ€™t you running now?โ€

Lemiraโ€™s voice was steady. โ€œYouโ€™re a big star now. Arenโ€™t you afraid of losing it all?โ€

โ€œAs long as what you know doesnโ€™t get out, Iโ€™ll never lose anything.โ€

Caspian stood in front of Lemira. โ€œIโ€™m doing this for your own good. Youโ€™ve caused too much trouble while I was away. Admit you were wrong.โ€

โ€œI did nothing wrong.โ€

Chapter 4

As soon as Lemira finished speaking, Caspian struck her with the taser. Lemira fell to the ground, clutching her arm, looking up at Caspian approaching. โ€œThey were the ones breaking the law, not me.โ€

โ€œLemira, you always think the family is against you, but look at what youโ€™ve done.โ€

โ€œAll I know is I was top of my class, and yet you forced me to stay and attend a local college. Is this your idea of looking out for me?โ€

Lemira glared at Caspian. โ€œIf thatโ€™s your idea of care, you can keep it.โ€

โ€œYou still dare to talk back? Family doesnโ€™t keep score like this. You clearly need a lesson.โ€

Caspian didnโ€™t hesitate to strike again. He had been waiting for this moment for too long. Lemira raised her hands to protect herself, her voice breaking into a sob, โ€œCaspian, please stop. It hurts.โ€

โ€œFeeling the pain now? Itโ€™s too late, Lemira. Werenโ€™t you defiant before?โ€

โ€œCaspian, Iโ€™ll do whatever you say. I can drop out of Orvin University and come back home. Iโ€™ll listen to you from now on.โ€

Lemira lay on the ground, her hands protecting her head, begging for mercy. Hearing Lemiraโ€™s pleas, Caspian felt a surge of exhilaration.
