Chapter 450

Caspian flashed a bitter smile. โ€œI know.โ€

Beside him, Evelinaโ€™s face turned ghostly pale. โ€œCaspian, I didnโ€™t show you any recorded video, okay? The cops checked everything. Thereโ€™s nothing on my phone.โ€

Even if Caspian knew, without proof, he couldnโ€™t touch her. It was all because Caspian hated Lemira too much.

Caspian fixed his gaze on Evelina. โ€œIf I turn myself in, you wonโ€™t escape either.โ€

โ€œNo, Caspian, you canโ€™t confess.โ€

Asher stepped in front of Caspian. โ€œIf you confess, what about the plan we had? Alaricโ€™s already in ruins; I canโ€™t let you get destroyed too.โ€

โ€œAsher, you canโ€™t stop me.โ€

โ€œI have to try.โ€

Asher had his men circle Caspian. He then turned to Lemira. โ€œSince you said I saved you back then, you owe me one.โ€

Lemiraโ€™s reply was laced with sarcasm. โ€œSo what?โ€

โ€œI have only one requestโ€”that you spare Caspian this time and claim that the livestream was just a rehearsal.โ€ Hearing this, Lemira felt a heavy weight press on her heart, a burden she could never shake off.

Orion took Lemiraโ€™s hand, his tone icy. โ€œFrom what I know, Lemira did so much for the Langston family, including writing the firewall for the Langston Group, without asking for a dime. You owe her a lot.โ€

โ€œLetโ€™s keep matters separate. If I hadnโ€™t arrived in time, we all know what would have happened to Lemira at the hands of those thugs.โ€

Asher pressed Lemira. โ€œYou know that better than anyone, right?โ€

Lemira bit her lip hard. Yes, she couldnโ€™t deny it.

Orion stepped in front of Lemira, shielding her from Asherโ€™s aggressive gaze. โ€œMr. Asher, she was so young back then, taking risks for your brother. Ultimately, itโ€™s Caspian who owes you.โ€

Asher didnโ€™t bite. He looked past Orion at Lemira. โ€œRegardless, I saved you. You owe me!โ€

Orion cut him off. โ€œNever seen a family as shameless as the Langstons.โ€

With that, he walked away with Lemira, refusing to let her be morally blackmailed.

Caspian watched Lemira leave, his anger peaking. This was all Evelinaโ€™s fault.

Asher spoke to Caspian. โ€œIโ€™ll go to the police station. You stay put.โ€

Caspianโ€™s tone was even. โ€œFine, but Iโ€™d like to have a word with Evelina.โ€

โ€œNo, Asher, Iโ€™ll go with you.โ€

Evelina didnโ€™t want to be left alone with Caspian. She feared for her life.

Asher hesitated. โ€œEve, you played a part in what happened. Just apologize to Caspian, and weโ€™re good.โ€

Ignoring Evelinaโ€™s plea for help, Asher and his entourage headed to the station.

Asherโ€™s lawyer spoke up. โ€œBoss, itโ€™s obvious Miss Evelina also lied. Why are you covering for her, letting Ms. Lemira suffer?โ€

โ€œI donโ€™t need your advice on how to handle things.โ€

He knew Evelina hadnโ€™t been truthful and deserved a lesson. But he couldnโ€™t let Caspianโ€™s reputation be ruined. So what if Ms. Langston, Lemira, had to suffer a bit?

Outside, Caspian dragged Evelina to his car, her face a mask of terror. He gripped her throat, his voice menacing. โ€œYou have two choices. Either I kill you right here, or you go and kneel before Lemira, begging for her forgiveness!โ€
