Orion hung up the call and immediately dialed Thaddeus. “Is Asher the one the Waverlies have picked for their son-in-law?”

“To be honest, I have no clue,” Thaddeus replied. “The Waverlies are keeping it under wraps, saying they want to wait until their daughter and her fiancé have developed some feelings before making it public.”

After explaining, Thaddeus added, “Where did you hear it was Asher? That seems a bit far-fetched.”

Orion recounted the press conference Lemira had called earlier that day.

This left Thaddeus silent. “How did Matthew find out? I had no idea.”

“I’m curious about that too. I’ll ask him about it later.”

“On the Waverlies’ end, I’ll see what my uncle knows.”

Thaddeus hadn’t expected such a coincidence.

Orion tried calling Matthew afterward, but got no response. So, he texted Matthew, asking how he knew about Asher’s engagement to the Waverlies’ daughter.

Matthew had just arrived at school with Lemira. Worried about exposing his brother’s identity, he hadn’t dared to answer the call.

When Lemira and Matthew showed up at the team’s base, everyone was stunned and then burst into screams. Who would have thought they’d see their idol at school one day? Matthew, being the youngest esports prodigy, had a massive fanbase.

Lemira smiled at everyone. “He’s here to spar with you guys today. Make sure to seize the opportunity.”

Before Matthew could reply to his brother, Lemira had him seated and started his coaching session. While coaching, Matthew thought he definitely needed to ask his brother for a coaching fee reimbursement.

Back in the office, Lemira told Janice, “Order everyone a cup of coffee on me, will you?”

“Did your press conference go smoothly? I didn’t see it trending.”

“Not smoothly, because it never happened.”

Seeing Janice’s worried expression, Lemira quickly reassured her, “Don’t worry about me. You better go watch their training. Can’t let star-gazing get in the way of practice.”

After Janice left, Lemira’s expression softened a bit. She remembered Alaric’s issue, where Asher wasn’t as anxious, but he seemed particularly worried about the Caspian situation. It seemed Asher had invested a lot in Caspian.

Just then, Lemira’s phone rang. It was Caspian calling. Lemira didn’t answer and hung up.

Soon, the office landline rang, and she picked up tentatively. “Hello, who’s this?”

“Lemira, I heard you were planning a press conference today, aiming to reveal everything, right?”

Hearing Caspian’s voice, Lemira found it odd; he didn’t seem too angry. She replied indifferently, “Yes, but the conference didn’t happen. However, I plan to go live. He can’t stop me.”

“Lemira, Asher is planning to send Lucian off for treatment with Rowan, meaning he won’t be able to testify about the will for you. Do you really want to watch as everything falls into Evelina’s hands?”

Of course not!

“Lemira, how about we team up?”

“Team up? Am I hearing you right? But I don’t see any necessity in cooperating with you.”

Lemira was about to hang up.

“It’s necessary. You already know about Asher’s engagement to the Waverlies. You can’t even take on the Sinclair family, let alone the Waverlies. Even if you go live, the Waverlies can stop you; PixelStage has shares belonging to the Waverlies.”

Lemira scoffed, “But you’re still lying. That’s not the real reason you’re proposing a partnership.”

She knew Caspian wasn’t that kind of person.

There was a long silence on the other end, followed by Caspian’s voice tinged with resignation. “Asher plans to hand my entertainment company over to Evelina and push her to stardom. I won’t let that woman succeed. I’ve worked hard for my company, and Asher has no right to give it away.”

Lemira laughed mockingly, “So, she’s taking your company, huh? Well, that’s karma for you.”
