Chapter 516

Lucian threw a punch at Asher, his frustration evident. โ€œWhat about Lemmy? She was hurt!โ€

Asherโ€™s face was impassive. โ€œIโ€™ll make it up to Lemira for the harm sheโ€™s endured, and Zack will be held accountable. But we canโ€™t involve the police or let this go public!โ€

โ€œThis isnโ€™t the right time for that discussion. Weโ€™re all men here, not the best suited to handle this. Letโ€™s have Evelina come over,โ€ Caspian suggested, just as the bathroom door opened and Lemira walked out.

The room fell into silence, everyone stunned.

Lucian hurried over to Lemira. โ€œLemmy, are you alright?โ€

Lemira shrugged, shaking her head lightly. โ€œWhatโ€™s supposed to be wrong with me?โ€

Caspianโ€™s eyes widened in disbelief. โ€œThen who the heck is on the bed?โ€

Asher felt a sinking feeling. He walked over, pulled back the blanket slightly, and was shocked to see Evelinaโ€™s face. He stumbled back, startled. โ€œItโ€™s Evelina.โ€

Lucian was bewildered. โ€œWhat on earth is happening?โ€

Asher turned to Lemira, his anger simmering. โ€œDid you orchestrate this?โ€

Lemiraโ€™s eyes were filled with sarcasm. She walked over to the bed and slapped Evelina awake with a few firm smacks.

Asherโ€™s expression darkened. โ€œWhat are you doing?โ€

โ€œWaking her up so she can explain everything to you herself.โ€

Asher hesitated, wanting to intervene, but with the blanket slipping, he turned his gaze upwards to the ceiling. โ€œLemira, thatโ€™s enough!โ€

โ€œWeโ€™re not done here.โ€

Caspian and Lucian both turned, exchanging a knowing glance, understanding beginning to dawn on them.

Evelina stirred, blinking groggily, then screamed upon seeing Lemira. โ€œWhat are you doing?โ€

โ€œJust waking you up so you can tell Asher what happened!โ€

Evelina finally realized her state of undress and the discomfort in her body. She glanced at Zack, disheveled on the floor, and horror washed over her.

She stammered, her lips quivering, โ€œWhy did you do this to me, Lemira?โ€

The realization struck her hard; she had been outmaneuvered.

Lemiraโ€™s gaze was icy. โ€œYou reap what you sow. Maybe you shouldnโ€™t have tangled with Zack.โ€

Evelina, enraged, lunged at Lemira, her hands aiming for her throat, only to be met with a swift slap that sent her reeling.

In her current state, Evelina was no match for Lemira.

Evelina broke down, sobbing uncontrollably. โ€œAsher, Asher, Lemira set me up!โ€

Lemira smirked at her brothers. โ€œEvelinaโ€™s not exactly dressed for company, Asher, youโ€™d better keep your cool.โ€

Asher rubbed his temples, clearly frustrated. โ€œEve, put some clothes on first, then weโ€™ll talk.โ€

With trembling hands, Evelina dressed and then threw herself into Asherโ€™s arms, crying. โ€œAsher, you have to report this!โ€

Asher caught a whiff of something unpleasant and his expression flickered with distaste.

Lemira chuckled softly. โ€œCanโ€™t report it, though. Otherwise, everyone will know the Langston familyโ€™s business, and weโ€™d be the talk of the town.โ€

Evelina wailed, โ€œIs my suffering less important than the Langston familyโ€™s reputation?โ€

Asher found himself at a loss for words, the irony not lost on him. Those were the very words he had spoken earlier, now turned back on him. He hadnโ€™t expected Evelina to be the one in the bed. This was Lemiraโ€™s room.

Perplexed, Asher pressed Evelina for answers. โ€œWhy were you in Lemiraโ€™s room?โ€
