Chapter 69
Orion cast a cool glance. "What brings you here?"
"Just hanging out, keeping you company, man."
"You can leave now."
Orion, carrying a bag, walked inside, but Thaddeus followed. "So cold, man. I think I'll stick around a bit longer."
Shamelessly, Thaddeus stepped into the elevator, sneaking a peek at the bag. "Got some body warmers, huh? Is she dealing with her menstrual period?"
Orion simply responded, "Yeah."
"I wouldn't have believed it if I hadn't seen it with my own eyes. Orion buying feminine products and even getting ginger tea! That's considerate."
Orion had never been this thoughtful and gentle towards girls before. It had always been the girls throwing themselves at him.
"Just be easy later; don't want to scare her."
After giving his instructions, Orion returned to the apartment, knocking on the bathroom door. "Got the stuff."
Lemira, hearing his voice, slowly approached, her cheeks flushing. She opened the door slightly, reaching out with her slender hand.
Orion handed over the bag, and she felt its weight, surprised by the quantity. She closed the door, smiling uncontrollably as she saw the variety of sanitary pads. He probably didn't know which brand she preferred, so he bought them all.
After changing, Lemira stepped out to find a young man she didn't recognize sitting on the couch. She felt awkward.
Thaddeus waved. "Hey girl, I'm Orion's buddy, Thaddeus."
"So, it's you." Lemira knew she was in Orion's friend's apartment. She remembered Orion clearing the restaurant for her, making Lucian and Evelina leave.
"Did Orion mention me? I bet he talked trash about me."
"No, I'm just staying in your room for a bit. Wanted to say thanks."
Thaddeus smiled. "Make yourself at home. I have plenty of space and hardly ever come by."
At that moment, Orion emerged from the kitchen with a cup of hot water, handing it to Lemira. She was surprised by his thoughtfulness.
Holding the warm cup, she said, "Thanks."
Orion's expression remained neutral. "Drink up and get some rest." She also realized his kindness was thanks to his friend.
Lemira nodded obediently, sipping the water slowly, feeling much better. She looked down, realizing it had been years since anyone had taken such care of her. She had been the one with the audacity to stay in the infirmary to finish her homework.
Remembering Orion dining with a beautiful woman at the restaurant, she assumed he must have many girls interested in himโgiven his age and charming looks, it was inevitable.
Quickly averting her gaze, Lemira packed her bag and returned to the neighboring room.
After Lemira left, Thaddeus teased, "Orion, don't you think you're being a bit too nice to her?"
"You talk too much."
"Just looking out for you, man. Don't you think you're underestimating your own charm? You've been nice to her; what if she falls for you?" Thaddeus had noticed the way Lemira looked at Orion; it's easy to guess a young girl's feelings.
Orion, sitting on the couch, replied, "She's got someone she likes."
"Who?"
"She didn't say."
