Winona, disguised, cautiously approached a small restaurant near Jason's address. She shielded her nose from the unpleasant smell, quickly ordering food to avoid suspicion. The owner, noticing Winona's attire was unsuitable for the heat, felt curious but refrained from questioning the obviously wealthy woman.

Before entering, Winona had contacted the police from a payphone, reporting Jason's location. She anticipated their arrival within twenty minutes. Eliminating Jason was crucial; her future depended on it, despite his unwavering faith in her.

Ten minutes later, sirens wailed as police cars sped past. Winona was surprised by their swift response. Unbeknownst to her, her report had been immediately relayed to Zane, who mobilized officers for a rapid response.

Watching from her window seat, Winona paid her bill, slipped into a nearby alley, and called Jason using an untraceable overseas SIM card.

Jason, anxiously awaiting her call in an unfinished building, trembled as his phone rang. Relief washed over him at the sound of Winona's voice. "Hello, Ms. Chambers? Where are you? I've been waiting."

Winona felt disgust at his voice. Sweetly, she replied, "I'm sorry, Mr. Wilson. The baby was fussy, and my mother-in-law insisted on a doctor. I'm leaving now, but it'll be an hour."

Jason, understanding her predicament, reassured her. But as he spoke, sirens blared outside. Panic gripped him. "Are the police here? Am I done?"

Winona, hearing the sirens through the phone, smirked. Feigning concern, she asked, "What's wrong, Mr. Wilson? Hide well."

Jason, resigned, sighed. "You don't need to come, Ms. Chambers. The police are here. Please don't come. Tell my mother… she's the only one I love. I'll protect you."

Winona, unexpectedly moved by his loyalty to her mother, had no choice. She feigned surprise and sobbed dramatically. "It's my fault! If only I'd come sooner… I'll turn myself in."

Deeply moved, Jason responded, "None of this is your fault, Ms. Chambers. I have to hang up and destroy the phone."

This was what Winona had wanted. Jason hung up, smashing his phone and discarding the SIM card. He then collapsed, awaiting arrest.

Winona, relieved, left the alley. She had manipulated Jason into taking the blame, confident his loyalty would withstand police pressure.

At Jeremiah's villa, Yvette emerged from a shower to find a closet filled with custom-made, minimalist black-and-white outfits—precisely her style. A smile touched her lips.

Jeremiah knocked, his voice husky with sleep. "Are you up? Breakfast is ready."

Yvette, dressed in black athletic wear, opened the door. Jeremiah took her hand, leading her downstairs.

Sandwiches awaited them. Yvette's had an extra egg and milk; Jeremiah's had black coffee. A smear of milk on Yvette's lip darkened Jeremiah's gaze, though he quickly averted his eyes.

Yvette eyed his coffee. "I want that too."

Jeremiah smiled gently. "Maybe next time."

Andrew entered, immediately regretting it. Bonnie, pushing past him, exclaimed, "You're blocking the way!"

Jeremiah and Yvette looked up. Bonnie, having missed Yvette, exclaimed her affection. Jeremiah, disliking the attention showered upon Yvette, silently sipped his coffee.

Andrew, with a rebellious air, chided Bonnie's excessive display of affection. Jeremiah, surprisingly, agreed. Bonnie, chastised, shrank back from Yvette, sensing Jeremiah's displeasure at her closeness to his woman.
