When Aurora was a child, she was frail. Her family made a pilgrimage to a temple, praying for her recovery at every step. After she began wearing a certain charm, her health gradually improved, and she hasn't removed it in years. Now, she offered it to Yvette. Jeremiah and Clifford were deeply touched; they knew Aurora must truly care for Yvette.

Yvette looked down at the red string bracelet. Its age was evident, yet its condition spoke of someone who cherished it deeply. She abandoned her casual demeanor, her gaze cool and her voice calm. "I can't accept this."

Aurora wasn't upset. She composed herself, looking intently at Yvette. "Yvette, my daughter-in-law, this charm is hidden within the bracelet. I've worn it since childhood. When I was pregnant, I hoped to pass it to a daughter for protection. But I had Jeremiah, that rascal, so I kept it. Later, I decided to give it to my daughter-in-law. You wouldn't refuse me, would you?"

Jeremiah seriously questioned his parentage at that moment.

Fearing Yvette's refusal, Aurora pleaded, "Do you think it's worthless?"

Everyone knew Aurora was simply persuading Yvette.

Yvette glanced at Jeremiah, paused, then looked back at Aurora. This time, she didn't refuse. "Okay. Thank you. I'll treasure your charm. From now on, I'll protect you."

Tears welled in Aurora's eyes. Pleased with Yvette, she dismissed Jeremiah from her thoughts. "Alright, Yvette, with you protecting me, even the King of Hell can't touch me!"

Aurora's remark was a jest, but Yvette replied seriously, "Yes, with me here, the King of Hell can't take you away."

Aurora was momentarily surprised, then smiled, unbothered. Clifford was also happy, thinking, 'Why did we end up with Jeremiah, that mischievous boy? If we had a daughter, she'd be as sweet and considerate as Yvette.'

Later, Clifford discovered calling Yvette "sweet" was a grave mistake.

Aurora linked arms with Yvette, the two women of equal height resembling close friends. Her mood shifted instantly.

Jeremiah and Clifford, accustomed to her antics, still found the arm draped over Yvette's shoulder awkward. They exchanged a look and, with unspoken agreement, gently pulled their wives to their sides.

Aurora wanted to protest, but Clifford's look silenced her. Jeremiah checked his watch. It was five o'clock. He said in a low voice, "Let's go. It's time for dinner. Everything's ready at home."

Aurora eagerly took Yvette's hand again. "Come on, Yvette. Let's go home for dinner. You're still staying at Skyland, right? There's little help there, and Jeremiah can't cook, so I doubt you've eaten properly. Come with me. Our home-cooked meals will please you."

Watching their hands link again, Jeremiah decided it was time to upgrade Skyland's security system. He contemplated adding another name to the blacklist.

Aurora and Yvette walked ahead, chatting happily. Aurora did most of the talking; Yvette listened quietly. They seemed like sisters.

Jeremiah and Clifford trailed behind, looking glum. Clifford noted Jeremiah's intense stare. "Brat, keep your wife in check."

Jeremiah retorted defiantly, "Dad, keep your wife in check."

Clifford sighed, "Do you think I can?"

Jeremiah chuckled. "Are you giving me too much credit? Do you think I can manage that?"

Clifford muttered, "Spineless, how did I end up with a son like you?"

Jeremiah, hands in his pockets, replied slowly, "Takes one to know one."

Jeremiah thought, One day, I'll beat you. One day, I'll send you away.

They ended up looking not at each other, but at Yvette and Aurora.

The Chavez residence had few, but long-term servants. Seeing Yvette, they sensed she would be the future matriarch. They greeted her warmly, without disdain despite knowing her Seacrity origins.

In the Chavez household, servants were carefully selected; their qualifications and character impeccable. Their salaries were high. Snobbish servants didn't exist; that was mere television drama.

Cara led the other servants, silently and efficiently serving the meal.

Clifford sat at the head of the table. Aurora and Yvette sat to his left; Jeremiah sat alone on the right, looking forlorn. The seating arrangement was clearly Aurora's doing.

Jeremiah felt a strong urge to return to Seacrity. He feared Yvette would leave him if things continued.

The Chavez family preferred Clusian food, but Aurora, mindful of Yvette, had thoughtfully added Western dishes: red wine, cheese, steak, salad, and dessert.

At dinner, Aurora constantly served Yvette, urging her to eat more. Yvette ate everything offered. Aurora was delighted. She believed that eating well brought good fortune; that a little chubbiness was charming.

Clifford reached for a steak, but Aurora quickly snatched the last piece and placed it on Yvette's plate, leaving him pineapple. He took deep breaths, pretending the pineapple was superior.

Noticing him staring at the pineapple, Aurora asked, "Honey, why aren't you eating? Eat! What are you looking at?"

Clifford smiled wryly and ate the pineapple. He missed the steak. Jeremiah, with a small appetite, was already full.

When Yvette finished, Aurora ordered orange juice for her. Clifford noted Yvette happily sipping her juice, while he had only water. Jealousy flared. He was now glad they had Jeremiah; if they'd had a daughter, Aurora might have ignored him entirely. Jeremiah remained the family's errand boy.
