Listen to this chapter:

In the physics classroom, Yvette settled into her seat, resting her chin on her right hand and holding a pen in her left. Her slender, graceful fingers were bathed in sunlight; her profile was exquisite. The boys in the classroom stole glances at her.

Nearby, Bonnie, having mentally prepared herself, spoke. "Hi, I'm Bonnie Sanders, the physics department representative. I live in the dorm next to yours, so feel free to ask me any questions."

Yvette turned to the blushing girl, finding her adorable. "Hi there, Bonnie."

Bonnie's face reddened further. She hadn't expected such warmth. "Um, Mr. Sunderland left you some basic physics questions," she stammered.

Yvette scribbled notes, then, noticing a test paper in her drawer, tossed it into another desk drawer. Turning to Bonnie, she smiled. "Bonnie, did you see the test paper?"

Bonnie, puzzled by Yvette's actions, stared in astonishment. Yvette chuckled softly, leaving Bonnie speechless. Bonnie thought Yvette beautiful, and realized that, unlike her initial impression, Yvette could be gentle.

"I didn't see it," Bonnie blurted, instantly regretting it.

Yvette nodded, lazily rested her head on the desk, and fell asleep. Bonnie sat beside her, letting her sleep peacefully.

Meanwhile, Victor arrived on campus, noticing the usual crowd keeping their distance. Despite his arrogance, he couldn't resort to violence. Only a few minions remained, their families reliant on the Carter family's business. They suggested he check the forum.

In his dorm, Victor discovered the basketball court incident had spread through Argrol University. As he searched for Yvette to vent his frustration, Simon Sanders, the university president, summoned him.

In Simon's office, Victor received a stern lecture. Simon, unlike most university presidents, held significant power in both education and Betrico. Even Victor had to listen.

Leaving Simon's office, Victor's hatred for Yvette intensified. He wanted her utterly destroyed.

Yvette slept through class. Waking, she found most students gone; only Bonnie remained, focused on her physics paper. Yvette stretched, unintentionally revealing part of her waistline. Bonnie blushed again.

"Bon, why are you still here?" Yvette asked.

Bonnie, startled and shy yet elated by the familiar nickname, shouldered her bag and left.

Yvette chuckled, then stood, nearly bumping into John, who carried papers.

"Yvette, where are you headed?" John asked.

Yvette, her tone lazy, replied, "The library."

"Do you want me to show you the way? You're new here," John offered.

Yvette waved him off. "No, it's fine. I'll go myself."

John, slightly disappointed, said, "Alright then."

Yvette arrived at the Argrol University library, filled with an array of books, including rare volumes. Students had free access. She chose books in Frixyia and German, along with some comics, and found a quiet corner to read.

At lunchtime, the library was nearly empty. Jeremiah appeared beside her.

"Frixyia, German, English, and comics. Quite the variety," he remarked.

Yvette looked up, annoyed. "What's up?"

Jeremiah awkwardly scratched his nose; Andrew, nearby, widened his eyes. Yvette's indifference to Jeremiah surprised Andrew; Jeremiah, however, remained undeterred.

Andrew sensed a secret, noticing a familiarity with Yvette.

"Just want to say hi. By the way, the pill from that night is great!" Jeremiah grinned.

Yvette recognized him from the alley, noted his "Librarian" name tag, and ignored him, focusing on her comic.

Jeremiah, unoffended, grabbed a book and sat opposite her. Andrew, lacking the mood to read, used his phone to post in a group chat, "A Man Should Suffer, but Not His Car":

[Guess what just happened?] Big news, come check it out. [30 thousand dollars for the gossip.] [Hey, trust me, 30 thousand dollars won’t lead you astray.]

Silence followed, until Andrew offered gossip about Jeremiah for 30 thousand dollars. The chat exploded. Within minutes, Andrew received offers for a million dollars.

Andrew: [Everyone, please hold on. Let me tell you the details.]

He revealed that Jeremiah had been ignored by a girl in Seacrity. Silence, then suspicion of hacking, followed by a flood of messages confirming the truth. News spread rapidly through Betrico's high society.

Two hours later, Yvette finished her last book. Andrew, amazed by her reading speed, felt out of place compared to Yvette and Jeremiah.
