Eagle King nodded. "Yeah, I was with Yvette."

Jeremiah slowly turned from the window, his gaze intense. He said quietly, "Did she kill Caleb?"

Emmett froze, connecting the pieces. A possibility he hadn't considered before emerged. He glanced at Eagle King, whispering, "No wayโ€ฆ"

But Emmett knew Jeremiah wouldn't speak without reason. If Yvette had killed Caleb, it was a significant turn of events. He mused, Could things be that coincidental?

Jeremiah had targets, and Yvette appeared to have eliminated one for him. Caleb's death was brutal; his body was left utterly ravaged.

Eagle King looked at Jeremiah, gulped, and reluctantly nodded. He thought, Sorry, Yvette, but my survival matters more. If I stay silent, Mr. Chavez might kill me!

"Mr. Chavez," Eagle King replied, "Caleb Kerton kidnapped my girlfriend. Yvette got furious and wiped out the Kerton family."

Emmett stared, his lips twitching. He's saying this so casually? Now I understand how dangerous Yvette is when angry, he thought.

The thought of Caleb's suffering was agonizing. The Kerton family wasn't small; it was a clan. When Emmett and Jeremiah arrived, the scene resembled a horror movieโ€”bodies everywhere. Yvette had seemingly eliminated thousands of the Kerton family single-handedly.

Samantha and Charles exchanged glances, noticing Emmett's unease. They sensed the situation's complexity, realizing Yvette had likely done something unbelievable again.

Samantha, her voice laced with curiosity, asked Emmett, "Stop playing games! Who is this Caleb Kerton, anyway?"

Emmett's expression turned serious. "Caleb was a notorious drug lord from Voraxia, primarily based in Kachin. He'd ruled there for decades. We pursued him for a case and tracked him to Manchernia. We encountered Yvette in Kransbay and had no idea she'd eliminated him."

He paused. "We were supposed to take him down that day, but the entire Kerton family was already deadโ€”gruesomely so."

Samantha gasped, thinking, One girl taking on an entire drug family? In their territory? Epic! A chill ran down her spine.

Jeremiah calmly turned to the window, lost in thought. He'd suspected Yvette because he'd detected her distinctive sweet scent in Caleb's room. Eagle King's words confirmed his hunch.

The next morning, Rory waited at the villa's dining table for Yvette's arrival for breakfast. Yvette had dressed up, paying extra attention to her hair.

A servant entered, trembling, and bent over to Rory. "Ma'am, Ms. Zeller said she doesn't want breakfast."

The servant knew Rory's temper. Disobedience often resulted in dire consequences. She'd seen servants thrown to Rory's pet snakes.

As expected, Rory threw her knife and fork down, her eyes sharp. "Did you upset her?"

The servant knelt, trembling. "Ma'am, we wouldn't dare! We didn't mean to!" She couldn't lift her head.

Rory composed herself and stood. "I'll go myself."

The servant, shocked, scrambled up. Ms. Miller personally invites Yvette. Who is she? she thought. The villa often hosts important people, but Ms. Miller has never treated anyone with this much importance!

Rory encountered Yvette at the door. Her eyes lit up. "Is the food not to your liking? What would you like? I can have the staff prepare something."

Yvette, hands in pockets, replied coolly, "I've already eaten." Her icy demeanor fueled Rory's frustration. "Already eaten? Come with me to a special place." Yvette raised an eyebrow. "Where?"

Rory glanced at her. "I'm taking you to the underground auction in Fhongsoly. You haven't seen anything like it."

Rory assumed Holden's niece lacked exposure to extraordinary events, especially a large underground auction.

Yvette's gaze flickered. She nodded, her voice cold. "Sounds good."

Rory decided against further persuasion. If Yvette realized her own power, she'd be more willing to cooperate.

At 1 PM, Rory, Yvette, and a convoy of five or six cars set off for Kachin's largest underground auction.

While called "underground," it was quite open. Not only goods but people and rare beasts were auctioned. The offerings were always unpredictable. Once, a Mysonna man auctioned his family members for drug money.

In the car, Rory glanced at Yvette, who was on her phone. Annoyed, she said, "You're Holden's niece from Dungo Village, right? You should know how to make poisonous insects."

Yvette rested her chin on her hand, texting Jeremiah her location. Then, with a cold expression, she arched a brow. "Nope."

Rory was taken aback. How could she not know? she wondered.

Before Rory could respond, Yvette smiled dangerously. She said seriously, "But I got luckyโ€”I found a 'poisonous insect king.'"

Rory scoffed. "Yvette, do you seriously expect me to believe that? I've done business with your uncle for years. I know about 'poisonous insects,' and a 'poisonous insect king' is a myth. Your uncle said no one can produce one. Why are you trying to fool me?"

Yvette smirked calmly. "If you don't believe me, that's your prerogative."

Rory was nearing her limit with Yvette's attitude. Is she treating me like an idiot? she thought. Fearing a further argument, Rory fell silent.
