Chapter 70

Simona bit her lip in jealousy. She had sent Jonathan pictures of Teresa and Truman embracing. Hence, she couldn't understand why Jonathan wouldn't give up on Teresa, wondering, "Is she so special to him?" Tears welled in Simona's eyes as she complained to Irene, who couldn't understand Jonathan's behavior either.

“You’ve worked hard to build your career. Your business is thriving, but now you’re clearing things up for Teresa? Aren’t you afraid of ruining the company’s reputation? What were you thinking?” Irene fumed.

“I know better than anyone that she’s not that kind of person. If I don’t stand by her, who will? Who cares about reputation? I’ll stand by her side,” Jonathan’s tone was calm yet firm.

Irene finally understood why Jonathan had always refused to go on blind dates or meet new people. She wondered what kind of spell Teresa had cast on him that, even after all this time, he still had feelings for her.

Meanwhile, Teresa saw Jonathan’s interview. She had bought a plane ticket and planned to run away, but right then, she had mixed feelings. Little did she know, Michael had also seen the interview.

As Jonathan’s biggest fan, Michael couldn’t possibly miss out on such news. When he first heard the name, Teresa Johnston, he thought he had misheard. He even wondered if it was a different person with the same name.

However, as Michael scrolled down the videos, he saw Teresa’s face. He tilted his head, thinking, “Huh? This is Mommy.” Then, he continued to scroll down.

Today, Jonathan Lynn, the CEO of Horizonlead Group, announced he was married, shocking all of Nareigh. It’s reported that his ex-wife is an influencer named Teresa Johnston. The two divorced amicably and have no children together. Teresa’s account has now gained over 1 million followers. Her profile says she’s single.

Will the two ever consider getting back together? Many online users suggest that if Teresa agrees to remarry Jonathan, she won’t need to sell clothes for a living anymore. Some netizens even commented, imagining how beautiful their children would be, given how stunning both of them are.

Teresa couldn’t escape as her follower count was soaring. If she stepped outside, reporters would swarm her with questions.

“Mommy, Mommy!” Michael rushed over to Teresa with his phone. “The news says you and Mr. Lame were married. Is he Daddy?”

Teresa had never felt so flustered. Michael’s gaze was innocent and clear. At that moment, Teresa couldn’t bring herself to look him in the eye while he stared at her, determined to get an answer.

“H-How is that possible?” Teresa collected her thoughts. “How could he possibly be your dad? You two have no relation whatsoever.”

“What about my daddy? You said Daddy is old and ugly. You’re my mommy, while Mr. Lime said he’s your ex-husband… I looked it up on Google. An ex-husband is someone who used to be your husband. That means Mr. Lime is Daddy, right?” Michael asked.

Though Michael spoke with the soft lilt of a child, his logic was sharp. Teresa couldn’t help but marvel at how clever Michael was for a two-year-old. Other kids of Michael’s age were still babbling, but there he was, so astute for someone so young. What was he made of, this little mind that seemed to hold so much wisdom? Yet, Teresa stubbornly clung to her stance. “He’s not your dad. I’m serious.”

“Oh…” Michael’s brows furrowed in disappointment. He desperately wished that Jonathan was his dad as he adored him. If Mr. Lime is Daddy, Mommy wouldn’t have to work so hard. We could live in a big mansion, too, he thought.

“Mommy, let Mr. Linue be your husband, not your ex-husband. That way, he can be my daddy. Right?” Michael asked.
