Chapter 870
Jonathan was a year older than Lucas, but still, he had to treat Lucas like an elder brother. After making sure Lucas was pacified, Jonathan hastily hung up the phone and let out a long sigh of relief.
Two days later, Teresa told Jonathan she wanted to leave the hospital and go home. The doctor said her condition was stable, so it was fine for her to go home and rest for a couple of days.
Teresa asked Jonathan, “Where’s Mike? Is he still at Forlisle Rose Estates?”
Mike had been taken back last night to change his clothes.
Jonathan nodded, thought for a moment, and said, “Move in with me.”
Teresa was puzzled.
Jonathan explained, “Forlisle Rose Estates is right across from the hospital, so if anything comes up, it’ll be super easy for you to see the doctor. The place has great facilities and everything you might need. I’m planning to get a team of nutritionists to make sure your meals are perfectly balanced every day. I just want us to work together and do everything we can to make sure everything goes smoothly with the baby. Of course, if you’re not comfortable living there, I can always find you another place.”
Teresa wanted nothing more than for the baby to be born safe and sound. Jonathan’s villa was indeed more suitable for nurturing a pregnancy. It was quieter, and the environment was just better overall. But she was hesitant for one reason.
“Are you still uneasy about my mom?” Seeing that Teresa was still silent, Jonathan added, “I’ve already sent her abroad.”
Teresa froze for a second. ‘Wait, his mom went abroad?’ she thought in disbelief.
Jonathan explained, “I bought her a ticket and sent her off to Embasia for a vacation. I don’t plan on letting her come back until after the baby’s born.”
Now, Teresa didn’t have to worry about Irene making things difficult for her anymore. Irene was out of Nareigh. Honestly, even if Irene were still in Nareigh, she couldn’t boss Jonathan around anyway.
“Can you just say yes and move in with me? Just do it for the baby,” Jonathan said, his voice a little rough.
Teresa lowered her gaze to her rounded belly, her hand gently stroking it. She knew this peace wouldn’t last. In the end, she nodded and said, “Okay. For the baby.”
And just like that, Teresa moved into Forlisle Rose Estates. The happiest one of all was Michael. He was hopping around, humming cheerful tunes to himself. Lucas helped bring over Teresa’s stuff from Rosary Estates to Forlisle Rose Estates.
Teresa said, “Lucas, why don’t you just stay at Rosary Estates? It’ll be much roomier for you now that you’re living there by yourself.”
Lucas said, “I’m not planning to stay there much longer anyway. I want to get a job.”
“A job?” Teresa repeated. Lucas explained that there was an audition for a supporting role over at Risemon World Studios, and he wanted to try out for it.
“But you only just got better,” Teresa said, worry in her voice.
“I’m a guy. I’ll be fine after a few days’ rest. I can’t just give up on my dream. I’ve held on this long, so what’s another year or two? I just don’t want to look back and regret anything.”
Becoming a celebrity had always been Lucas’s dream. When it came to looks and talent, he totally had what it took. He was tall, good-looking, fair-skinned, and when he smiled, his eyes would curve into that signature crescent shape.
But handsome guys were a dime a dozen. The competition was brutal. There were so many young idols popping up. At 30, Lucas didn't have many chances anymore. Teresa hoped that now, without Peggy holding him back, his path would be a little smoother.
“Then just follow your heart, Lucas,” Teresa said with a gentle smile. “Whatever you want to do, your family’s got your back, no matter what."
Lucas’s eyes grew red and misty with emotion. ‘If only we’d been able to reunite as a family sooner,’ he thought. ‘Maybe it’s not too late now.’
