Chapter 874

“What did you say, Mrs. Lynn? Teresa’s pregnant again?” Yalena slammed the car door shut, completely oblivious to Jennifer standing behind her; she was too busy talking on the phone with Irene.

Irene’s voice crackled through the line. “Yeah, I know you really care about Jonathan. I’m sorry, Yalena. I apologize on Jonathan’s behalf. You’re a good girl, but Jonathan just lost his head and got all tangled up with Teresa. He really let you down.”

Yalena’s expression twisted. All she heard was that Teresa was pregnant again. ‘Damn it. I’ve tried several times since then, but always failed. And now Teresa’s pregnant again? This is just ridiculous,’ she thought.

She asked Irene, “So, Mrs. Lynn, are you saying Mr. Lynn wants to get back together with Teresa?”

“No way. I’d never agree to them getting back together,” Irene cried. “Because of that vixen, Jonathan was so heartless to me. He forced me to sign some stupid agreement and then shipped me off overseas. He even told me not to come back until after the baby was born. My life is just miserable.” Irene started crying as she spoke. She was hoping for some comfort, but the other end of the line stayed silent.

“Hello? Yalena, are you listening?” Irene asked.

“I get it, Mrs. Lynn.” Yalena snapped back to her senses. “Don’t worry. Since Teresa has made your life miserable, I’ll make sure she pays for it. I’ll take revenge for you.”

“Revenge? How are you going to do that for me?” Irene asked, puzzled.

“I’ll make sure Teresa pays dearly for what she’s done to you.” Yalena let out a cold laugh and hung up.

‘I’ll make sure Teresa and that baby of hers vanish for good,’ she thought. ‘This time, I won’t fail.’ After hanging up, Yalena got into her car. She was completely unaware that Jennifer had overheard the entire conversation.

Jennifer fixed her gaze on Yalena’s retreating figure, her mind racing. “Who exactly is this woman, and what is she planning to do to Teresa? There’s no way I can just ignore this,” Jennifer told herself firmly.

At Forlisle Rose Estates, Teresa called Lucas to check on him. Lucas assured her that everything was going smoothly at Risemon World Studios and that the director really valued him.

“Really? That’s great.” Teresa couldn’t help but feel happy for Lucas. She had been worried he might get bullied.

“Hey, you over there. What are you slacking off for? Get over here and shine my shoes!” A rough, angry voice suddenly came through the phone.

Teresa froze and quickly asked, “Who was that?”

Lucas replied, “Oh, they weren’t talking to me. Anyway, I’ll talk to you later. I’m going to eat.” With that, he quickly hung up.

Teresa couldn’t shake the feeling that something was off. Before she could think more about it, Michael suddenly burst into the room, looking flustered.

“Mom, come here quick. It’s Jonathan. He–” Michael called out.

“What happened to him?” Teresa asked, letting Michael drag her along. She thought something might’ve happened to Jonathan, and her brows knitted as she hurried her steps.

They pushed Jonathan’s door open. The scene inside left them stunned. Jonathan had just finished his shower and was sitting casually on the bed, rubbing his wet hair with a towel. He was shirtless, with nothing but a towel wrapped around his waist.

Teresa froze for a second. So did Jonathan. Teresa quickly turned to Michael, who cried out excitedly, “Mr. Lime has such a great body, right? He even has an eight-pack…”

Teresa’s face instantly turned red. She shook off Michael’s hand and walked out of the room. “This is so boring.”

Michael huffed, putting his hands on his hips. “You don’t appreciate it at all. I was just trying to show you something cool.”
