“Do you even realize how much trouble these photos could bring to the company, all because of you?” Eason snapped.

“I don’t know. Enough already!” Yalena bit her lip so hard she almost broke the skin.

Eason pointed at the door. “Go stand by the door and think about what you’ve done. Then tell me what exactly you want.” With that, Eason stormed out.

“Eason!” Katrina watched Eason storm off and hurried after him. Katrina patted his chest, trying to soothe him. “Take it easy. Don’t get so worked up. Yalena really didn’t mean it.”

Eason let out a heavy sigh. “Tell me, how did our kid turn out like this after coming back from Mianara?”

Katrina’s eyes brimmed with tears as she remembered those shameful things. They were something Yalena would never have done before.

“Yeah, I feel it too. Yalena’s just not the same anymore,” she told Eason, choking up. “Today, Yalena drank all the orange juice, but she’s always hated orange juice."

“And the other day, I saw her eating lamb and offal. Whether it’s lamb or animal organs, she’s always hated those things. I feel like Yalena’s changed so much.” Katrina covered her face as she cried. “I always feel like she’s not my daughter anymore.”

Eason wrapped his arm around Katrina’s shoulders, his voice heavy with pain. “Have we been too indulgent, trying to make up for things without any boundaries? I really don’t know how Yalena ended up like this.”

Katrina leaned into Eason’s embrace, unable to stop herself from crying in grief. After all, Yalena was their only daughter. No matter what, they couldn’t bear to keep her grounded for too long. Even if Eason could bring himself to do it, Katrina just couldn’t.

One day, Katrina told Yalena that she should behave and try to win a contract with an international company to get Eason’s forgiveness. At that moment, Yalena couldn’t hold it in any longer. She shoved Katrina aside and dashed out of the room.

“Dad, it’s my fault. I know I messed up.” Yalena dropped to her knees, almost in tears. “Please, just give me one more chance. Let me handle the Dharma deal. I promise I won’t let you down.”

Eason’s expression didn’t budge, his face set in stone. Katrina stood nearby. She pleaded with a shaking voice, “Just give Yalena a chance. She’s wanted to get into management for ages.”

Yalena added, “Dad, I swear I won’t let you down. I’ll prove to you I’ve got what it takes.”

Eason took a deep breath. His gaze settled on Yalena. “Alright, I’ll trust you. I’ll give you this one shot. If you can land the Dharma contract, then I’ll consider letting you take over the company,” he said.

“Yes, Dad.” A sharp glint flashed in Yalena’s eyes. She couldn’t wait any longer. She had to seize this chance and make Eason willing to hand the company over to her.

Eason knew that there was no way Jonathan and Yalena would be together. Jonathan was so protective of Teresa, and now she was even pregnant. Jonathan never said who the father was, but Eason wasn’t clueless. He could guess what was going on.

He figured he’d better apologize to Teresa in person on Yalena’s behalf. But over at Teresouth Group, Teresa hadn’t shown up at the office for several days because of her pregnancy.

Eason tracked down the apartment complex where Teresa lived. He went upstairs, carrying a bunch of baby supplies. But when he arrived, no one was home. Just as he was about to leave in disappointment, a familiar figure appeared before him.
