Chapter 902
Teresa’s face flushed bright red as Jonathan, taking advantage of his birthday, made an even bolder request.
Just as he was about to ask for another birthday gift, her phone rang. Jonathan, frustrated, let go of her. “Who’s calling?”
“Lucas,” Teresa replied, already reaching for her phone.
Jonathan sucked in a sharp breath. “Hold on. How are you supposed to answer like this?” Teresa was speechless.
Forty minutes later, Teresa called Lucas back. “Teresa, have you eaten?” Lucas asked.
“Yeah, I have. What’s up, Lucas? Why are you calling me?”
“Oh, nothing much, just wanted to see how you’re doing. Is Jonathan’s birthday today? I saw his post on Facebook, but I haven’t had the chance to wish him happy birthday yet.”
“He’s right here. You can talk to him,” Teresa said, handing the phone to Jonathan. Jonathan exchanged a few words with Lucas.
After wishing Jonathan a happy birthday, Lucas asked, “Jonathan, are you coming down with something? You sound a bit different.”
Jonathan gave a soft cough. “No, I’m fine. Just had a slight fever earlier, that’s all.”
“Really? Make sure you take your medicine,” Lucas said.
“Yeah, Teresa just fed me my medicine,” Jonathan replied. Teresa chucked a pillow at him. Jonathan handed both the pillow and the phone back to Teresa.
Lucas reminded Teresa. “Make sure you rest and take care of yourself and the baby, okay? I…” He almost gave a bitter laugh. “Whenever I get tired out here, I’ll just come home.”
“Of course. Whenever you’re tired, just come home,” Teresa replied.
“Yeah.” Lucas’s voice cracked slightly.
After hanging up, Teresa couldn’t shake the feeling that something was off about Lucas. Even the way he spoke felt a little strange.
Actually, the last time Lucas called her from Risemon World Studios, he sounded weird that time too. And now, it was the same all over again.
Teresa asked Jonathan, “What did Lucas say to you?”
“He just told me to look after you,” Jonathan replied.
“Oh, is that so?” Teresa said. ‘Am I just overthinking things?’ she wondered.
She asked again, “Lucas said you posted something on Facebook? What did you post?”
“Why don’t you check it out yourself?” Jonathan replied.
Hearing Michael’s voice, Jonathan went out to take care of their son. Teresa finally opened up Facebook and couldn’t believe her eyes. The guy who never posts anything had actually shared something.
There was a photo of a birthday cake, and another of Teresa and Michael singing “Happy Birthday” to him. The caption was Steady Happiness.
There were likes from mutual friends, and comments from them as well.

Teresa couldn’t help but laugh at the comments. ‘How funny. These guys are like shills or something,’ she thought. Soon, Werner liked the post too. If Werner liked it, that meant Hayden had seen it as well.
That was when Teresa finally understood why Jonathan had posted on Facebook. ‘He really never does things halfway when it comes to putting on a show, does he?’ she thought.
By the time Jonathan came back in, Teresa had just finished taking a shower.
She was rubbing lotion into her fair, rosy skin. Teresa always cared a lot about her looks and figure. No matter how tired she was, she’d never skip her skincare after a shower.
She turned to Jonathan. “Did you hide your post from your mom on Facebook?”
Jonathan walked over and hugged her from behind, taking in the sweet scent of her hair. “Why would I hide it from her?”
Feeling his reaction, Teresa pushed him away impatiently. “Back off. If she comes at me again to move in, I won’t be nice about it. If it wasn’t for the baby, I wouldn’t even be here. And you’re the one who asked me…”
