Chapter 939

โ€œTeresa went into premature labor because of that woman from the Kelly family. I have to be with her!โ€ Jonathan said. He was so full of regret that he wished he could just stab himself in the heart. He shouldโ€™ve gone with her this morning.

He knew that bad feeling was right. If she was alone, something bad was bound to happen. If Irene hadnโ€™t caused a scene at the airport this morning, he wouldโ€™ve left with Teresa. Now, she could be in danger, and he wasnโ€™t by her side.

โ€œLetโ€™s go.โ€ Benny snatched the car keys from Jonathan and said without hesitation, โ€œWeโ€™ll take the highway. Iโ€™ll call someone on the way to get your permits and the entry pass sorted out. Weโ€™re leaving right now.โ€

There was no time to waste, so the two of them left immediately. Jonathan wanted to drive himself, but Benny stopped him. Jonathan was in no state to drive. Letting him behind the wheel now would be like asking for trouble.

Benny was just as anxious, especially after hearing that Teresa had gone into premature labor and her life was hanging by a thread.

Jonathan had been worried sick throughout Teresaโ€™s pregnancy. Benny saw it, and all their friends and family could see it. But now, Teresa went into early labor. Benny knew Jonathan was on the verge of snapping.

For everyoneโ€™s safety, there was no way Jonathan could drive. The rain kept pouring as the car shot through the ink-black, rain-soaked night like an arrow loosed from a bow.

Gary called Jonathan again, guilt eating him up. He kept thinking he shouldโ€™ve never left the hospital, not even for a second.

โ€œI donโ€™t want to hear that! Whereโ€™s Teresa? Is she okay?โ€ Jonathan demanded.

Gary told him Teresa was still in the operating room, and the baby hadnโ€™t been born yet. He tried to reassure Jonathan, saying labor could take a long time, especially with a premature birth, so he shouldnโ€™t worry too much.

As for Mike, Gary had already taken him back to the villa. He didnโ€™t want to bring the kid to the hospital, afraid itโ€™d freak him out. โ€œTeresa said she wants you to save her brother!โ€ Gary added.

โ€œWhat does she mean by that?โ€ Jonathan asked.

โ€œI donโ€™t know. Thatโ€™s just what the doctor told me. Teresa just said that one thing,โ€ Gary replied.

Jonathan suddenly realized something and tried calling Lucas, but he couldnโ€™t get through. Right then, Evelynโ€™s call came in.

She was frantic. Sheโ€™d tried calling Lucas, but couldnโ€™t reach him. Sheโ€™d called Teresa to ask, and Teresa said sheโ€™d try to find out, but now she couldnโ€™t get through to Teresa either. โ€œJonathan, did something happen to Teresa and Lucas?โ€

Even though Jonathan was a mess inside, he forced himself to sound calm when he spoke to Evelyn. โ€œTheyโ€™re both okay,โ€ he said, trying to steady his voice.

โ€œOh, good. I couldnโ€™t get through to either of them, and it scared me to death. As long as theyโ€™re fine,โ€ Evelyn finally breathed a sigh of relief.

After hanging up, Jonathan immediately called the police and reported Lucas missing. He also gave them Yalenaโ€™s name as the suspect. He was certain that Yalena had something to do with all of this.

As for where Lucas was, now that the police were on the case, theyโ€™d be able to find him sooner or later.

The rain was pouring down, but that just meant the roads were wide open. Benny had his foot to the floor, never letting the speed drop below 80 mph the whole way.

By the time they finally pulled up at the hospital where Teresa was, the sun was just coming up. As soon as Benny parked, he grabbed a trash can and started puking his guts out.

Heโ€™d lost count of how many red lights heโ€™d blown through or how hard heโ€™d slammed the gas, but somehow theyโ€™d made it here in one piece. He was pretty sure his phone was going to blow up with calls from the traffic cops later.

Gary came over to greet Jonathan and led him over.
