Chapter 345 Hit Her

โ€œI donโ€™t know. I just made some fish and beef. You all ate the same meal. Why is it only Ms. Prescott having trouble?โ€ the maid stammered.

The other servants followed her down to the basement. Claire was writhing in pain on the floor, her face pale as a sheet. Antony was stomping his feet in distress. Even Diana was taken aback at the sight. She hadnโ€™t expected the drug to be so potent. Caroline, on the other hand, was excited to see Claireโ€™s agony.

She rushed forward, feigning concern. โ€œClaire, whatโ€™s wrong? Is your belly hurting?โ€

โ€œIt hurts so much,โ€ Claire muttered, drenched in cold sweat. She was barely conscious because of the sheer intensity of the pain. She didnโ€™t even register that it was Caroline and Diana who had come to see her. The servants all gathered around, alarmed by the scene.

โ€œWhat are you all standing around for? Get her to the hospital!โ€ Diana ordered.

The maid who held the password hesitated. โ€œBut General Hawthorne said no matter what happens, Ms. Prescott is not allowed to leave the basement.โ€

โ€œAre you serious? Canโ€™t you see how much pain sheโ€™s in? What if something happens to the baby?โ€

โ€œExactly. Yesterday, we saw her vomiting so badly. Sheโ€™s pregnant. And now her belly hurts? What if itโ€™s a miscarriage? Weโ€™d all be in serious trouble.โ€

โ€œThe first three months are the most critical. Hurry up and unlock the door.โ€

Terrified that something might happen to the baby, the servants joined in, urging the maid to act.

โ€œOpen it. Iโ€™ll take full responsibility if anything goes wrong. When Frederick gets back, Iโ€™ll explain everything to him,โ€ Diana declared.

โ€œYes, Miss Hawthorne.โ€ The maid finally relented, her hands shaking as she entered the code. Because of nervousness, it took her several attempts to get the door open.

Once inside, Diana quickly assessed the situation and instructed everyone to move Claire out. They carried her from the basement to the car and rushed to the hospital.

To ensure the plan went off without a hitch, Diana drove. Halfway to the hospital, Claire passed out in the back seat. The two women hadnโ€™t anticipated the drugโ€™s potency. But this was even better.

Originally, they had planned to wait until the car turned a corner, then deliberately ram into the back seat where Claire sat. Now that she was unconscious, they could simply get out of the car themselves, leaving her alone. Then theyโ€™d fabricate a reason, claiming there was a child or an elderly person in the road, and they had to get out to move them. Alternatively, they could say they were in such a hurry that they ran a red light and got stopped by the police. A truck would conveniently crash into the car, leaving Claire alone to face the disaster. It was a perfect plan.

Diana and Caroline scouted the ideal location for the โ€œaccident.โ€ They chose a pedestrian crossing with no traffic lights to make the scenario more believable. They even texted the truck driver they had arranged in advance.

When the truck arrived, the two glanced at the unconscious Claire in the back seat. Sharing a triumphant look, they got out of the car and walked to a safe distance.

The truck driver stepped on the gas, aiming straight for the car.
