After Chad and Tiffany took off, I was trying to get myself out of there. I wasn’t sure if Chad would be coming back for me or not. Last time, when Chad went to hug Tiffany goodbye, he had slipped a tracking device in her pocket. Even when the kidnappers moved, we could still track her. But he’d seemed to have forgotten that small detail.
I’m betting he only wanted to save Tiffany. He probably just picked me to look good, and didn’t want people to think he picked the girlfriend. They were childhood friends. The Chad from before regretted that. Let him have it his way this time. I just needed to find a way out of this mess.
I knew they’d drive by that auto shop. The guys there were tough as nails and always down for a fight. The last time around, the kidnappers tried to take over the shop, but the owner wasn’t having it. They got into a serious brawl, and those kidnappers never thought they’d meet someone worse than them. They didn’t want to drag it out, and ran off. Later, when the cops showed up, the auto shop owner pointed them out.
