Chapter 103
Hansel's expression softened at her words. However, the next moment, he heard her say, "You're also none of my business. It's late. If you continue acting up, I'll call the butler and have him send the guards."
Hansel wasn't finished. "Mimi—"
"I'll count to three. One, two…"
Miranda pulled out her phone and tapped the call interface. She only needed to dial "one" for the butler to arrive immediately.
Hansel, unwilling to give up, could do nothing. Before leaving, he said, "I'll come again tomorrow."
Some distance away, Ingrid watched them from the restaurant balcony. Her expression was unreadable in the dark.
The next day, Winter didn't return until dawn. Miranda poured herself a glass of milk and took a slice of bread. She had just taken a few bites when she heard the password lock beep.
Winter, in a new dress, hummed cheerfully. Seeing the sandwich, she walked over and ate one. The bread was perfectly toasted. She reached for another.
Miranda sat across from her. Seeing Winter's good mood, she smiled. "Seems like you had a great night."
"That's for sure. It's been a while since I've met such a brilliant fling partner." Winter's expression became unreadable as she mentioned this. She seemed to be reflecting on, or perhaps savoring, the memory of the previous night. "He had a strong waist and great abs. He's perfect."
The man she'd had a fling with was from Hosbren. His looks were impeccable, and given Hosbren's fitness-conscious culture, Winter was sure the abdominal muscles she'd touched were genuine. It had been a long time since she'd had such a compatible partner.
To her surprise, he hadn't left when she woke up. His smooth skin was covered in the red marks she'd left, and he had puppy-like eyes. She almost lost her composure.
Thankfully, she remembered her appointment with a deep-sea diving coach. It wouldn't do to stand him up, so she hurried to get ready.
"Didn't I tell you yesterday that I have a diving coach appointment? We should leave around 10:00 a.m."
Marvedis' waters were clear and deep blue. Specially developed diving spots allowed viewing fish and coral reefs around 100 feet below the surface—one of the island's main attractions.
Miranda, having heard about it beforehand, was slightly scared by the thought of suffocation and pressure. However, her longing for and curiosity about the ocean overcame her fear, and she agreed to try it with Winter.
Dave Turner, their coach, had a good reputation. He was humorous and patient, and even more considerate given his clients were two gorgeous ladies.
Before they began, Dave explained step-by-step what to watch for, including common underwater hand gestures. He also showed them how to use the diving equipment. Miranda and Winter then underwent basic training.
Winter, having deep-sea dived before, knew it all. Miranda, a first-timer, was more attentive. She sometimes made mistakes with the hand gestures. Dave would pat her arm, saying, "Hey, you're too tense. Relax. You'll feel the ocean's charm through diving. Imagine the fascinating underwater world, experienced without interruption. How enjoyable!"
