Chapter 169

Did Miranda think she was still in her prime? Did she really want to pick up her books after all these years since graduation? Dream on! She'd be mortified once the results were revealed!

Rena chimed in, "I'm also curious, after hearing Quincey's suggestion."

Cynthia smiled. "Yes, everyone's curious about your results. Mimi, why don't you check and show us? No need to feel pressured; it'll be fine regardless of the score and whether you get in or not."

Mindy glanced at her daughter. Instinctively, Miranda wanted to refuse, but Miranda smiled and said, "Sure."

Everyone gathered around her laptop. Miranda had already entered her admission ticket number and password. All it took was a press of the Enter key to reveal her score.

Miranda said, "Dad, you do it."

"Me?"

"Yes. You were the one who checked my college entrance exam scores back then, weren't you?"

"Alright." Lionel rubbed his hands together. Taking a deep breath, he pressed the Enter key.

The page loaded for a moment before freezing. A loading message appeared. Everyone held their breath—one second, two seconds…

"The results are out!"

Miranda's score was 412 marks.

Jenny nudged Quincey, who seemed dazed, and whispered, "What's the total score? 400 doesn't seem that high…"

Quincey's lips twitched, but she said nothing.

"Why aren't you saying anything?"

Rena quickly concealed her surprise and smiled. "Jenny, the total score is 500. With this score, Mimi's rank should be in the top three. She might even be first."

Jenny's eyes widened in shock. "So Miranda got into Bedford College's graduate program?"

Cynthia's face remained expressionless. "To be precise, there are two stages to the postgraduate admission exam: the written test and the interview. There's still uncertainty based solely on her written score."

Jenny sighed in relief. She knew it was too good to be true. How could Miranda get into Bedford College so easily, let alone rank in the top three?

Rena said with a smile, "However, the written test accounts for a larger portion of the total score. They won't eliminate many from the interviews. Mimi already has one foot in Bedford College. Congratulations, Lionel and Mindy."

Chapter 169 (Bonus)

Lionel was still dazed. His daughter, who hadn't been home for six years, had gifted them a villa and now gotten into a graduate program upon her return!

The tension between him and Miranda stemmed from this issue. Lionel believed she shouldn't have wasted her talent; pursuing further studies was the right path. However, Miranda had given up that path for a man—a significant blow to Lionel, who had spent over twenty years working toward his daughter's education. Now, everything seemed to have fallen into place.

"Thank you, Rena."

Rena continued, "Now Miranda is considered the most highly educated among the younger generation in the Sutton family. That's quite something."

Quincey's expression darkened, and Jenny pursed her lips.

Cynthia added, "Let's wait until the admission letter arrives before saying that, Rena."

The meal that followed was unusually quiet. Everyone was immersed in their own thoughts. Afterward, everyone left shortly, one after another.

It was Mindy's birthday on January 20th. The rain and snow had cleared, and new buds were sprouting on the lawn. The entire yard was brimming with new life.

Mindy didn't like sweets, so they didn't order a cake. Instead, Miranda went to the market and bought flour, whipping up handmade pasta for her mother.

Miranda had also chosen a gift in advance: a set of classic, out-of-print books. She'd spent a long time finding them, eventually locating them in an obscure online bookstore overseas. Shipping took almost half a month.
