Chapter 172: Take Her Away
โHow dare you lie like that!โ Madeline shouted angrily.
Jessica wasnโt scared at all, and they immediately started fighting. The scene was so intense that no one dared intervene. Eventually, Philip arrived with his men and forcibly pulled them apart.
Madeline shot Jessica a furious look and hissed, โI wonโt let you off!โ
Already frustrated, Philip slapped Madeline. โEnough! Do you want to humiliate yourself more?โ The slap instantly brought Madeline back to her senses.
Meanwhile, Jessica remained unfazed. โMadeline, youโre truly vile. Itโs a good thing that your schemes didnโt work. No wonder the Moon Goddess didnโt choose you for Benjamin. You donโt deserve to be Luna of the Midnight Pack!โ
Philip, clearly fed up with the chaos, instructed his men, โTake her away!โ A Beta enforcer stepped forward and dragged Jessica out. As she was being taken away, she muttered insults under her breath.
โUncle Philip, donโt let her go!โ Madeline screamed hysterically. She would be completely doomed if they let Jessica go; Jessica, a Beta like Madeline, was far more dangerous. If she was left free, she would silence Madeline for good.
But Philip ignored her cries and gave orders for Madeline to be taken away as well. The hall fell into an uncomfortable quiet. Though no one dared speak openly with Philip around, whispers about Madelineโs behavior spread quickly.
Benjamin, who had been standing nearby, watched the entire scene in silence. After accompanying Hayley to observe the drama, he said, โLetโs go.โ He was ready to leave. But before he could, Philip approached and said, โBenjamin, donโt leave yet. I need to talk to you.โ
Benjamin, his expression cold, replied, โSorry, Philip. I have nothing to discuss with you.โ The casual use of his name was a clear reminder of Benjaminโs Alpha status, and Philip felt the shift. Though he knew Madeline had gone too far, he couldnโt help but think that if she had become Luna of the Midnight Pack, it might have benefited the Kilters. But he kept that thought to himself and pretended toโฆ
โAlpha, I know what Madeline did was wrong,โ Philip began. โI understand that after this, sheโs no longer fit for the Southwells. But the bond between our families is still there. Iโll make sure she learns her lesson.โ
Hayleyโs POV: I couldnโt tolerate Philipโs fake sympathy any longer. Before he could finish, I cut him off, giving him a cold smirk. โMr. Philip, your words are meaningless. Do you think you can brush off Madeline breaking the Midnight Packโs laws with a simple apology? Do you think weโre all fools?โ
Philip treated me like I was nothing, clearly dismissing me as an Omega. After hearing me out, he gave me a look of disdain and continued, โMadeline is a member of the Kilmers. At most, sheโs just an attempted criminal.โ
I was disgusted by his shamelessness. I quickly fired back, โSo, youโre saying drugging someone isnโt a big deal? Despite being in the Midnight Packโs management and a former assistant to the Alpha, you donโt understand the rules of the Pack. Or maybe you donโt mind getting demoted from Beta to Omega?โ
The moment I finished speaking, Philipโs expression immediately shifted drastically.
