Chapter 173: Seriously?

Hayleyโ€™s POV:

Philip shot me a fierce glare. โ€œYouโ€™re just an Omega. You have no right to speak up!โ€

Before I could respond, Benjamin stepped in to defend me. With the commanding presence of an Alpha, he turned to Philip and asked, โ€œSheโ€™s a guest invited by the Southwells, part of the ruling family of the Shadow Pack. Do you truly think she doesnโ€™t have the right to speak?โ€

Philip was caught off guard. He wiped the sweat from his forehead and immediately softened his tone. โ€œAlpha, please, you can decide how to handle the situation with Madeline. Iโ€™ll follow your lead.โ€

I eyed him warily. โ€œMr. Philip, are you serious about this?โ€

This time, Philip was far more respectful and nodded. โ€œI want to settle this matter completely as well. After all, youโ€™re a guest of the Midnight Pack. Madeline has overstepped her bounds.โ€

Upon hearing that, I squatted and lifted Benjaminโ€™s pant leg. Immediately, Philip saw the injury on Benjaminโ€™s thigh. I spoke firmly, โ€œMr. Philip, if you truly want to resolve this, you need to understand what happened. Madeline drugged Benjamin, forcing him to hurt himself just to stay awake. Though his healing is quick as an Alpha, the pain he endured was real. And honestly, I never planned to handle this peacefully.โ€

As I spoke, I didnโ€™t realize that my Alpha aura was starting to intensify. Philip looked at me, slightly intimidated. Then, he turned to Benjamin and respectfully said, โ€œAlpha, I can hand Madeline over to you for whatever punishment you see fit. Just spare the Kilmers.โ€

I had been waiting for this, and Benjamin knew what I was thinking. He simply nodded. โ€œSince thatโ€™s settled, thereโ€™s nothing more to say.โ€

When Benjamin agreed, I saw Philip breathe a sigh of relief and wipe his forehead again. โ€œAlpha, your injury looks serious. Why not go to the Kilmersโ€™ hospital? Iโ€™ll arrange the best doctor for you.โ€

โ€œNo need,โ€ Benjamin refused right away and motioned for me to follow him.

After we disembarked, Tyrone was already waiting at the dock. Seeing us approach, he quickly stepped forward and respectfully asked, โ€œAlpha, are you alright?โ€

Benjamin answered casually, โ€œItโ€™s nothing. Just a small injury. Letโ€™s head back to the company.โ€

As soon as he said so, I quickly spoke up, โ€œNo, we need to go to the hospital first.โ€

Tyrone hesitated for a moment, glancing between me and Benjamin. โ€œAlpha, thisโ€ฆโ€

Before Benjamin could protest, I cut him off, โ€œBenjamin, even though youโ€™re an Alpha and your wound has healed, you need a full check-up at the hospital!โ€ I was firm, leaving no room for argument. Benjamin didnโ€™t argue back. Tyrone, on the other hand, seemed a bit stunned by my commanding tone toward Benjamin.

Finally, Benjamin said, โ€œAlright. Letโ€™s go to the hospital first.โ€

Tyrone visibly relaxed. โ€œYes, Alpha. Please get in the car.โ€

We got in, sitting next to each other. Hera was so excited that she could barely control herself, practically bursting to pounce on him. We then headed toward the hospital.

The doctor treated Benjaminโ€™s external injuries, applying some medicine. After a quick check-up, he said, โ€œAlpha, make sure you rest when you get back. Keep the wound dry. With your condition, youโ€™ll be fine after a quick change of medicine.โ€ The doctor gave his advice while writing the prescription. Benjamin nodded, and I helped him out of the office.

โ€œSee?โ€ I said, gently scolding him. โ€œThe doctor said you need rest. Youโ€™re always thinking about work. You! Can leave the Southwell Group and Midnight Pack matters to Tyrone.โ€

I couldnโ€™t help but worry about him, so I nagged a bit. Benjamin stopped walking and turned to look at me, his gaze intense. For a moment, my heart raced, and Hera was almost desperate to take control, wanting to mark him. I fought to control Hera and asked, โ€œWhโ€“why are you staring at me?โ€
