Chapter 195: Never Thought of It
Hayleyโs POV:
โHow did the exam go?โ I asked with genuine interest.
Henry frowned, clearly frustrated. โNot great. I couldnโt figure out the last few difficult questions in calculus.โ
I tried to comfort him. โWe went over those questions before. We only rephrased them, but the concepts tested remained unchanged.โ
Henry sighed and said, โLooks like I didnโt study hard enough. Oh well, itโs just one exam. Iโll go home and practice more.โ
โThese questions wonโt stump me if you, an Omega, did well in this course. With my higher-level Beta intelligence, these questions shouldnโt be a problem,โ he added, quickly turning to head back into the classroom, eager to continue practicing.
Henry was determined. He even asked me for help with anything he didnโt understand. I patiently explained the problems to him.
After explaining the last problem, Henry suddenly seemed to have an epiphany. โOh, so thatโs what it was. I didnโt think of that during the exam.โ
I reassured him, โItโs okay. Youโll do better next time.โ
Trista walked over, glanced at Henryโs exam paper, and said bluntly, โThis problem is so easy!โ
Henryโs mood soured; he glared at her. โDo you even know how to do it?โ
Trista had competed in math competitions and had a solid foundation in math. Plus, sheโd been learning with me for a while now. I knew that these major problems would be straightforward for her.
โOf course I do. Itโs really simple,โ she replied confidently.
Henry clearly didnโt believe her.
I crossed my arms, watching the exchange. Trista grabbed a pen and started solving the problem in front of Henry. Once she finished, Henryโs expression turned completely defeated.
With a smug smile, Trista said, โSee? I wasnโt lying. It really is that easy.โ
Henry hurriedly grabbed his paper and fell silent. Trista, noticing this, added, โLooks like you need to work harder, Henry.โ
Henry nodded dejectedly. โDonโt worry. Iโll work hard and try to beat you next time.โ
Trista flashed a charming smile, her tone polite yet confident. โGood luck! I believe in you.โ
โWeโre both Betas. If I can do it, you can too!โ
I chimed in and encouraged him, โIf I, an Omega, can do it, youโll catch on in no time.โ
Henry smiled at me gratefully.
After school, Trista, Lillian, and I walked together down the school path. The schoolโs radio station was playing Christopherโs new song.
Trista grumbled in annoyance, โThey play this song every day. Iโm getting sick of it.โ
Lillian responded, โWhat can we do? This song is topping the charts everywhere. That just shows how much influence Harmony has.โ
Trista shrugged and said, โYeah, Harmony is the sort of existence comparable with the moon goddess.โ
โShe just made a brief appearance, and the whole music industry trembled. When will I reach that level, where just showing up leaves everyone in awe?โ
โToo bad Iโm not even an Alpha.โ
She looked down. I pulled her into a comforting hug. โKeep at it. One day, youโll win the Best Actress award and sit at the top of the industry, and I will wait for that day to arrive.โ
Trista smiled, her spirit renewed. She turned to me and Lillian, saying, โJust wait for me. Iโll win the Best Actress trophy and give it to you two.โ
Lillian and I exchanged amused glances and said in unison, โCanโt wait for that!โ
We laughed and continued walking out of the school. The school gate was especially lively today. Several middle-aged men in yellow jackets stood by the entrance, holding up posters of Christopher. โTickets for the fan meeting with Harmony and Christopherโfirst come, first served! Donโt miss out!โ
โIf you want tickets, hurry up! It only costs a few hundred dollars! 299 dollars to have the opportunity to meet Harmony and have a close encounter with your idol.โ
Lillianโs eyes lit up when she heard this and exclaimed excitedly, โWait, is Harmony coming back? Sheโs holding a fan meeting? I want to go too!โ
With that, Lillian started moving forward.
Although Trista wasnโt a huge Harmony fan, she liked her music. โHey, get one for me too!โ
As I watched, I quickly realized that these people were using my name to scam others. I was furious. Tempted to let Hera take control of my body and pounce on these shameless people to rip them apart, I held back my anger and stepped forward, stopping Lillian and Trista. Then, I walked up to those men selling the tickets.
