Chapter 196: Demoted

Hayleyโ€™s POV:

โ€œAre you sure these are the tickets for the Harmony and Christopher fan meet-up?โ€ I asked coldly, my expression stern. The man selling the tickets assumed I was interested in buying one and quickly said, โ€œMiss, for just 299 dollars, you can meet Harmony. Donโ€™t overthink itโ€”just grab a ticket now!โ€

Hearing them continue their scam right in front of me made me even angrier. โ€œAre you sure itโ€™s really Harmony herself? If youโ€™re lying, thatโ€™s fraud, and you could get kicked out of the pack and end up as a rogue!โ€

The manโ€™s face turned pale at my warning; he reached out to push me aside. He looked arrogant and threatened, โ€œAn Omega like you! How dare you spread lies about me? If you canโ€™t afford a ticket, move aside and stop causing trouble. Youโ€™re blocking other students from buying their tickets.โ€

โ€œOr Iโ€™ll shift into a wolf and tear your throat out!โ€

I immediately pulled out my phone and said, โ€œWe can have the police find out whether Iโ€™m bullsh*tting you. If youโ€™re involved in fraud, even if you arenโ€™t kicked out from the pack, youโ€™ll definitely be demoted. Maybe even to a rank lower than an Omega!โ€

Those men rushed forward to snatch my phone away. They bared their sharp fangs at me, trying to intimidate me. โ€œIโ€™m warning you; donโ€™t cross us. If you push us too far, weโ€™ll tear you apart right now!โ€

Hera was enraged by their actions. She wanted to come out and teach them a lesson, but I kept her under control. I stayed calm, staring at them with a mocking smile. โ€œWhatโ€™s the matter? You were exposed as a fraud, and now youโ€™re upset with me?โ€

As more students gathered, the fraudsters realized they couldnโ€™t escalate the situation further. With a scowl, they threatened, โ€œJust you wait!โ€ With that, the group walked away.

After their departure, Trista and Lillian gazed at me, their eyes filled with shock. โ€œWere they really scammers?โ€

I nodded. Lillian sighed with relief. โ€œLuckily, we didnโ€™t buy the tickets.โ€

Curious, they both asked, โ€œHayley, how were you so sure they were scammers?โ€

โ€œYeah, Hayley, you were so brave! An Omega like you actually stood up to them.โ€

โ€œYou know, those scammers are probably at least Bletas. Theyโ€™re in a group, but thereโ€™s only the two of us; we wouldnโ€™t dare confront them directly.โ€

โ€œAnd theyโ€™ll do anything for money. I was honestly worried they might try something again.โ€

I knew my reaction had been a bit extreme, but I couldnโ€™t let people get away with such blatant lies.

โ€œDonโ€™t worry. Iโ€™m fine. Tickets for Christopherโ€™s fan meet-up are usually sold on the official website. Thereโ€™s no way theyโ€™d sell them at our school. Plus, Harmony would never hold a fan meet-up.โ€

Trista and Lillian eyed me suspiciously. โ€œHayley, how do you know that? Do you know Harmony?โ€

I almost slipped up and revealed that I was Harmony. Realizing my mistake, I quickly made up an excuse. โ€œHarmony is a huge name in the music world. If she were to hold a fan meet-up, it would make the news. Have you come across any information about it online?โ€

Both of them shook their heads and immediately believed me.

โ€œHayley, youโ€™re so clever. Even though I have a higher rank than you, sometimes I feel like I canโ€™t keep up with you,โ€ Trista praised me immediately.

Not wanting them to start questioning my Omega status, I quickly changed the subject.

โ€œAlright, enough about that. Letโ€™s just head home.โ€

I bid them goodbye, then stood by the side of the road, waiting for the Southwells to pick me up. But I waited a long time, and Benjamin didnโ€™t show up. The crowd at the school gate grew thinner, and soon most of the students had left.

Just then, the ticket sellers returned, surrounding me once again.

โ€œUgly freak, how dare you ruin my plans? Youโ€™re just asking for trouble,โ€ their leader cursed, not holding back.

Given their hostility, I clenched my fists, ready for whatever was coming. โ€œWhat do you want?โ€

I kept my eyes on them, and Hera immediately shifted into a battle-ready state.

โ€œWhat do we want? We need to teach people like you a lesson!โ€

Before I could react, the men shifted into wolves and lunged at me, teeth bared, ready to attack!
