Alpha Hayleyโ€™s Destined Mate

Chapter 213: Block the News

Christopherโ€™s POV:

Isnโ€™t that the girl whoโ€™s always with Hayley? Whatโ€™s her nameโ€ฆ Christine?

โ€œHey, are you okay? Wake up!โ€

She collapsed into my arms, weak and limp. I didnโ€™t waste any timeโ€”just grabbed Christine and rushed her to the car. I called Caesar on the way to the hospital.

โ€œCaesar, I hit someone. Iโ€™m on my way to our Midnight Pack hospital.โ€

Caesar immediately panicked and asked, โ€œAre you okay?โ€

โ€œIโ€™m fine, but sheโ€™s in pretty bad shape,โ€ I replied quickly.

โ€œAlright, donโ€™t panic. Iโ€™m on my way now. But be carefulโ€”you donโ€™t want the paparazzi getting photos of this.โ€

I hung up, left the car behind, and let my wolf take over, running as fast as I could to the hospital. Upon my arrival, the doctors promptly wheeled her into the operating room. I stood outside, catching my breath, waiting anxiously.

Caesar arrived shortly after, out of breath and looking worried. โ€œHow is she? Is she okay?โ€

โ€œSheโ€™s still in surgery,โ€ I said.

But Caesar didnโ€™t have time to focus on that. โ€œWe need to lock this down immediately. We canโ€™t let the media find out. You go on ahead. Iโ€™ll stay here and make sure no one gets anything.โ€

โ€œButโ€”โ€

โ€œNo buts,โ€ Caesar cut me off urgently. โ€œRemember your position. If this leaks, it could be a disaster.โ€

He quickly called the driver, saying, โ€œGet the car to the back entrance. Christopher will meet you there.โ€ After hanging up, he urged me to leave.

I was flustered, but given my position, I knew I had no choice but to leave for now.

Back at the office, I couldnโ€™t focus, my mind still on what had happened. As I walked to the elevator, Gillian smiled and greeted me. โ€œChristopher!โ€

I nodded but walked past her, expressionless, and entered the elevator.

Gillianโ€™s POV:

Christopher completely ignored me. The smile froze on my face. He never paid attention to me, no matter how often I tried to get his attention. It didnโ€™t matter how many times I made an effort; he never seemed to care. But I couldnโ€™t offend him. He was a Southwells, and his brother was the Alpha of Midnight Pack.

โ€œGillian, your phone,โ€ my assistant whispered.

I took the phone. When I heard the message, my anger only grew. โ€œNothing? How is that possible?โ€

โ€œYes, my team has been looking into it for a long time, but weโ€™ve found nothing.โ€

โ€œI see,โ€ I said, hanging up the phone. My hand quietly clenched into a fist.

โ€œGillian, are you okay?โ€ my assistant asked, concerned.

I scoffed and shot her a cold glare. With just a look, she flinched.

โ€œWhat? You think Iโ€™ve got a problem? Do you want me to have one?โ€

โ€œNo, no, Gillian! Please, let me explain,โ€ she stammered, trying to backpedal.

I wasnโ€™t interested in her explanation. โ€œYou can collect your pay and leave. I donโ€™t want to see you again.โ€

With that, I lifted my chin and walked away, proud and determined. Once in the car, my mind started racing. How had my people failed to find any information on Harmony? But clearly, Harmony was back. I had to figure out what to do.

Then it struck meโ€”since Harmony had written a new song for Christopher, could this imply a connection between them? If so, maybe following Christopher would lead me to her. The thought made me feel a little more sure of myself. If I couldnโ€™t find Harmony directly, keeping an eye on Christopher might just lead me to her.

Hayleyโ€™s POV:

After my philosophy class, I left the room and noticed Christine hadnโ€™t arrived at school yet. I pulled out my phone and sent her a message. I waited for a long time, but still no reply. Maybe she had to deal with something at home. I didnโ€™t think much of it.

I headed to my next class. Just then, my phone rang.

โ€œAlpha, theyโ€™re back.โ€
