Alpha Hayleyโs Destined Mate
Chapter 213: Block the News
Christopherโs POV:
Isnโt that the girl whoโs always with Hayley? Whatโs her nameโฆ Christine?
โHey, are you okay? Wake up!โ
She collapsed into my arms, weak and limp. I didnโt waste any timeโjust grabbed Christine and rushed her to the car. I called Caesar on the way to the hospital.
โCaesar, I hit someone. Iโm on my way to our Midnight Pack hospital.โ
Caesar immediately panicked and asked, โAre you okay?โ
โIโm fine, but sheโs in pretty bad shape,โ I replied quickly.
โAlright, donโt panic. Iโm on my way now. But be carefulโyou donโt want the paparazzi getting photos of this.โ
I hung up, left the car behind, and let my wolf take over, running as fast as I could to the hospital. Upon my arrival, the doctors promptly wheeled her into the operating room. I stood outside, catching my breath, waiting anxiously.
Caesar arrived shortly after, out of breath and looking worried. โHow is she? Is she okay?โ
โSheโs still in surgery,โ I said.
But Caesar didnโt have time to focus on that. โWe need to lock this down immediately. We canโt let the media find out. You go on ahead. Iโll stay here and make sure no one gets anything.โ
โButโโ
โNo buts,โ Caesar cut me off urgently. โRemember your position. If this leaks, it could be a disaster.โ
He quickly called the driver, saying, โGet the car to the back entrance. Christopher will meet you there.โ After hanging up, he urged me to leave.
I was flustered, but given my position, I knew I had no choice but to leave for now.
Back at the office, I couldnโt focus, my mind still on what had happened. As I walked to the elevator, Gillian smiled and greeted me. โChristopher!โ
I nodded but walked past her, expressionless, and entered the elevator.
Gillianโs POV:
Christopher completely ignored me. The smile froze on my face. He never paid attention to me, no matter how often I tried to get his attention. It didnโt matter how many times I made an effort; he never seemed to care. But I couldnโt offend him. He was a Southwells, and his brother was the Alpha of Midnight Pack.
โGillian, your phone,โ my assistant whispered.
I took the phone. When I heard the message, my anger only grew. โNothing? How is that possible?โ
โYes, my team has been looking into it for a long time, but weโve found nothing.โ
โI see,โ I said, hanging up the phone. My hand quietly clenched into a fist.
โGillian, are you okay?โ my assistant asked, concerned.
I scoffed and shot her a cold glare. With just a look, she flinched.
โWhat? You think Iโve got a problem? Do you want me to have one?โ
โNo, no, Gillian! Please, let me explain,โ she stammered, trying to backpedal.
I wasnโt interested in her explanation. โYou can collect your pay and leave. I donโt want to see you again.โ
With that, I lifted my chin and walked away, proud and determined. Once in the car, my mind started racing. How had my people failed to find any information on Harmony? But clearly, Harmony was back. I had to figure out what to do.
Then it struck meโsince Harmony had written a new song for Christopher, could this imply a connection between them? If so, maybe following Christopher would lead me to her. The thought made me feel a little more sure of myself. If I couldnโt find Harmony directly, keeping an eye on Christopher might just lead me to her.
Hayleyโs POV:
After my philosophy class, I left the room and noticed Christine hadnโt arrived at school yet. I pulled out my phone and sent her a message. I waited for a long time, but still no reply. Maybe she had to deal with something at home. I didnโt think much of it.
I headed to my next class. Just then, my phone rang.
โAlpha, theyโre back.โ
