Chapter 214: Teach Them a Harsh Lesson!
Hayleyโs POV:
I heard Thomasโs voice in my car. โAlpha, Iโm tracking them as hard as I can, but theyโre too sly, and my skills just canโt compete with theirs. Youโll have to step in personally,โ Thomas reported urgently.
โKeep them occupied for now. Iโll be there soon,โ I replied.
After I hung up, I quickly had Henry inform the teacher and then rushed to Laguna Tower. Once I arrived, I didnโt rush to track them down. Instead, I tried contacting the other party.
โWhat do you want?โ I sent the message and waited for a response.
In less than two minutes, that hacker replied with a smiling emoji. Thomas couldnโt hold back his frustration. He cursed, โMotherf*cker! Whoโs this idiot?!โ
I furrowed my brow and typed quickly on the keyboard. โI assume you donโt mean any harm. Otherwise, you wouldnโt keep playing these games with us, right?โ
He responded with another smiling emoji, and this time, Thomas really couldnโt hold himself back. โBoss, letโs give them a serious lesson!โ
I stared at the emoji they sent. My expression darkened, and while continuing the conversation, I opened another window and started writing some code.
โDo you know me?โ I sent the message, but he didnโt reply right away. My code was ready, so I injected it into their system. In less than two minutes, I had their IP. Then, he sent me another message, โWaiting for you.โ
It was just two words, but I knew it was intentional. It was obvious they had detected my actions, yet they still gave me their IP.
โAlpha, let me go with you,โ Thomas suggested. But as soon as he finished speaking, a new message appeared on the screen: โJust you alone.โ
Thomasโs face went pale, and he said, โThis person definitely has some hidden agenda. Alpha, donโt go alone. Donโt deal with this idiot.โ
I pressed my lips together and said, โItโs fine. Iโll go alone.โ
โButโฆ
I intended those words to reassure both Thomas and myself. Heraโs calm presence inside me made me feel that this person might actually know meโand that they didnโt mean any harm. I decided to try it out.
โIโll send you a signal every half hour. If you donโt hear from me in an hour, send someone to back me up.โ
Thomas was still concerned, but once I made up my mind, there was no turning back. Reluctantly, he agreed. โDonโt worry, Alpha. I know what to do.โ
โGive me your car keys.โ
Thomas quickly pulled the keys from his pocket and handed them to me. I took them and turned to leave. The IP location was in the suburbs, so I drove straight there.
An hour later, I checked my phoneโs map, glancing at the desolate surroundings. I was sure I was in the right place, but there were no people around. I started to wonder if I had taken a wrong turn. I slowed down and kept driving along the road.
Just then, I saw a luxurious villa hidden behind some trees. Cautiously scanning the area, I parked the car and got out. I walked toward the pond in front of the villaโs garden, and two black shepherd dogs suddenly charged toward me.
Seeing them, my heart leaped. โPotato! Tomato!โ The dogs came rushing to my feet, wagging their tails enthusiastically. I quickly crouched down and petted their heads. โOMG, how are you here? Is Godfather here?โ
Just as I finished speaking, a deep voice belonging to a middle-aged man unexpectedly rang out from behind me. โHayz!โ
