Eternal Claim, Chapter 263: Make Him Pay

Irving laughed harshly, his smile twisted. โ€œWhat should I do? What can I do? Whatโ€™s Benjamin going to do to me? No matter what, I still have the blood of the Southwells running through me. Does he plan on betraying his family for the greater good?โ€

His assistant stayed silent, though a hint of fear lingered in his eyes. โ€œMr. Irving, maybe we should leave. Thereโ€™s no harm in retreating.โ€

โ€œWhat if Benjamin doesnโ€™t care about family rules and simply expels you from the pack?โ€

Irving shook his head. โ€œNo, Iโ€™m not going anywhere. Iโ€™ll stay right here and wait for Benjamin to come for me.โ€

Since he couldnโ€™t change his bossโ€™s mind, the assistant decided to stop trying. โ€œTake care, Mr. Irving. If fate allows, weโ€™ll meet again.โ€

With that, the assistant walked away, leaving Irving alone in his office. Slowly, Irving closed his eyes. He knew this moment had been inevitable.

Hayleyโ€™s POV:

On the day of Georgeโ€™s funeral, almost all the key leaders of the important packs showed up. I had been by Benjaminโ€™s side, keeping him company at the memorial hall for three days straight. He hadnโ€™t eaten or drunk anything, and he looked utterly drained.

โ€œBen, please, just eat something. You canโ€™t keep going like this,โ€ Henry urged him, but Benjamin didnโ€™t respond. Since his words had no effect, Henry turned to me for help.

โ€œBoss, can you talk to Ben? Grandpaโ€™s gone now, let him rest in peace. We, the living, still have to carry on. As the Alpha, he canโ€™t keep hurting his body.โ€

I looked at Benjamin, knowing how deeply he was hurting. Because of their fated bond, my wolf, Hera, could sense his pain at all times. Right now, no words would do justice to the hurt in his heart.

I signaled Henry to leave before I spoke softly to Benjamin, โ€œPlease, eat something. Your body wonโ€™t handle this much longer.โ€

Benjaminโ€™s eyes flickered, a hint of response. He lifted his gaze, his eyes as deep as ever, impossible to read. His voice was hoarse when he spoke. โ€œI need to go somewhere. Iโ€™ll eat when I return.โ€

With that, Benjamin stood up and walked out. I called after him, but he didnโ€™t look back, striding away with determination.

Benjaminโ€™s POV:

Tyrone was waiting outside. When he saw me, he hurried over. โ€œAlpha!โ€

I didnโ€™t waste time. โ€œDid you find everything I asked for?โ€

Tyrone handed me a file. โ€œHere it is. All the details are in here.โ€

โ€œSo, itโ€™s him,โ€ I muttered, flipping through the papers, my hands tightening into fists. โ€œLetโ€™s go. Weโ€™re going to confront him. Also, take these to the police and get the best lawyer we can. I want him locked up for life.โ€

โ€œYes, Alpha.โ€

I slammed the car door shut, eager to find this man and make him pay. I wanted nothing more than to face him right now, and sink my teeth into his throat.

When I arrived at the massive office building, I saw Irving standing alone in front of the floor-to-ceiling windows, staring off into the distance.

โ€œYou finally arrived,โ€ Irving said, his tone calm, almost like heโ€™d been expecting me. โ€œYou show up earlier than I thought.โ€

Rage boiled inside me. Without thinking, I let Lawrence take control of my body. In an instant, I lunged at Irving, knocking him to the ground. For a moment, I nearly lost control and tore his throat out. But I steadied myself and growled, โ€œDid you do this?โ€

Irving didnโ€™t deny it. He simply replied, โ€œYes.โ€

I didnโ€™t hesitate. I raised my fist and slammed it into his left cheek. Irving winced from the pain, but he didnโ€™t make a sound. He met my gaze and calmly said, โ€œThatโ€™s right. I did it all. But Benjamin, I didnโ€™t want Grandpaโ€™s life. I wanted yours. He died in your place.โ€

Hearing such cold, merciless words from him made my fury flare again. I threw another punch, growling, โ€œYou bโ€”โ€”stard!โ€

Irvingโ€™s expression was indifferent. โ€œGo ahead, hit me. Kill me if you like.โ€

I closed my eyes, shaking with anger. Punch after punch rained down on him.

โ€œBenjamin, even if you kill me, what does it change? Grandpa is already gone. Killing me wonโ€™t bring him back.โ€

Irvingโ€™s words hit me like a blow. Grandpa was gone, and my heart felt as if it had been hollowed out.

Helplessly, I stopped, staring down at Irving. I let out a cold laugh. โ€œYouโ€™re right. Killing you wonโ€™t change the truth. But since thatโ€™s the case, Iโ€™ll make sure you live in torment for the rest of your days. Donโ€™t worryโ€”I wonโ€™t let you die easily. Iโ€™ll make sure you suffer for the rest of your life.โ€

12:23 Tue, Jan 7 GG.

Irving frowned, and there was a flicker of fear in his eye. โ€œWhat are you going to do to me?โ€
