Chapter 282: The Truth Will Come to Light
Hayleyโs POV:
Over the past few days, Benjamin had noticed my worry about Christine. He should understand how important she is to me.
As an Alpha, I had spent most of my life in intense training, leaving me with little time for friends. The only one close to me had been my assistant, Thomas. Later, when I disguised myself as an Omega and lived with the Midnight Pack, Christine was the first classmate who accepted me for who I truly was.
Benjamin tried to comfort me. โDonโt worry. Maybe she has something she canโt share right now.โ
I still looked at him, confused, unable to find a reasonable answer.
โAlright, stop thinking about it for now. At least we know sheโs still alive. As for everything else, when she returns, everything will be made clear. Donโt stress,โ he said.
I turned to look out the window, silently praying that Christine would come back soon.
When I got home, I adjusted to the time difference before heading to school. I missed quite a bit of class due to the incident in Smulia. I had taken a lot of days off, but since my grades were good, the teachers didnโt say much about it.
โTomorrow begins exam week, everyone. Make sure you have your revision,โ my math teacher said from the front of the classroom, his gaze shifting toward me. โIf you have a question about anything, feel free to come by my office and ask.โ
โGot it, teacher,โ I replied.
The class responded, and everyone closed their textbooks.
After gathering my things, I was about to leave the room when the math teacher stopped me in the hallway.
โHayley, I know your foundation is strong, but youโve been absent quite frequently this semester. If thereโs anything youโre falling behind on, donโt hesitate to ask. The final exams are just around the corner, and I hope you can maintain your usual performance and get the results you deserve.โ
I could feel the genuine concern in his words. I thanked him sincerely. โThank you, Mr. Carver. Iโll do my best.โ
He said no more but reminded me as I started to walk away, โIf anythingโs unclear, just ask. Donโt be shy.โ
โYouโre the most talented student Iโve had in all my years of teaching. If you ever decide to specialize in math, youโll be a shining star in the field,โ he added.
I smiled and replied, โI understand. Thank you, Mr. Carver.โ
With a wave, I left.

โHenry, are you confident about the exams?โ
Henry nodded. โI should be fine, but Iโm still a bit behind you.โ
I encouraged him, โDonโt worry about comparing yourself to me. Just focus on improving yourself. As long as you make progress with each test, thatโs what matters.โ
Henry looked up at me with determination. โBoss, donโt worry! Iโll work hard and catch up to you soon.โ
โGood! Keep at it,โ I said. Then, I asked, โIs there anything you donโt understand?โ
Henry grinned and quickly handed me his workbook.
โCan you explain this problem?โ
I glanced at it, and the solution came to me. Taking a piece of scratch paper, I began solving the problem for him, fully focused on the steps.
โThis is the general approach. The final result is v3. You can double-check it yourself,โ I said.
Hera, who had been watching, started getting excited.
I set my pen down, and when I looked up, I saw Benjamin standing in the doorway.
Surprised, I quickly stood up and asked, โWhen did you get back?โ
