Chapter 299: Sheโ€™s Incredibly Talented!

Teriโ€™s POV

I didnโ€™t quite understand Mr. Southwellโ€™s comment, but my instincts told me the dress Omega woman altered looked much better than before! The stitching was so unique; each stitch was carefully placed with great attention to detail. Iโ€™ve been in this business for years, and Iโ€™ve never seen anyone stitch like she does. I even thought she might be a top-tier designer Benjamin had hired. With that in mind, I couldnโ€™t help but ask, โ€œMr. Southwell, who exactly is Ms. Carson?โ€

Teri was simply curious about Hayleyโ€™s background, but Tanner assumed she was afraid to ask because of Hayleyโ€™s possible status. โ€œSheโ€™s just a friend,โ€ he responded dismissively. โ€œItโ€™s fine; sheโ€™s not an expert. If it didnโ€™t turn out well, thatโ€™s understandable.โ€

Tannerโ€™s POV:

Teri was stunned by my answer. โ€œBoss, that hurt my feelings!โ€ she exclaimed.

Confused, I looked at her. โ€œWhatโ€™s wrong?โ€

Teri immediately replied, โ€œIf an outsider can do this well, what does that say about me, someone whoโ€™s been in the industry? Iโ€™ve been in this line of work for so many years, but now I feel like Iโ€™m inferior compared to an outsider. Itโ€™s such a blow to my self-esteem. I canโ€™t take it; I need some time alone.โ€

With that, Teri left, leaving me standing there, staring at her back with a puzzled look. โ€œCan you at least explain yourself?โ€ But all I got in response was silence.

Something about this didnโ€™t seem right. Could Hayley be talented? But even if she was smart, so what? Design isnโ€™t like other fieldsโ€”it takes time and experience. What does Hayley have?

With those thoughts in mind, things became clearer. Why overthink it? I should just wait and see what Hayleyโ€™s design looks like.

Chapter 249: Sheโ€™s Incredibly Talented!

When I returned to the design room, I saw that Hayley had already roughly outlined the new dress. As I looked at the finished design, my jaw dropped. This design was just as good as anything the boss could create; I thought it might even be better.

โ€œMs. Carson, are you sure youโ€™re not a professional?โ€ I asked her, filled with doubt.

Hayley bit her lip and said, โ€œIโ€™d say Iโ€™m an amateur for now.โ€

I wanted to cry. An amateur could be this talented, while I, a professional, was left in the dust.

โ€œMs. Carson, youโ€™re so gifted!โ€ I couldnโ€™t help but praise her.

Hayley glanced at the dress and said, โ€œThe overall shape is almost there, but it still needs the final details. Can you help me with that?โ€

I nodded, and the two of us began the final touches on the dress. Hayley stitched each part carefully while I assisted. We worked together so seamlessly.

By the time the last stitch was in place, Hayley rubbed her sore arms. โ€œFinally, itโ€™s done.โ€

I stretched, exhausted. โ€œMs. Carson, youโ€™re amazing! You managed to fix this dress in just one day.โ€

Then, I stood up and rubbed my stiff legs, then glanced at the clock on the wall. It was already 10 PM.

โ€œItโ€™s so late? I didnโ€™t even feel the time pass.โ€

Just then, Hayleyโ€™s stomach growled loudly, and I realized we still hadnโ€™t had dinner.

โ€œMs. Carson, itโ€™s getting late. Since weโ€™re done, we can head home,โ€ I suggested.

Hayley nodded. โ€œSure, but letโ€™s grab dinner first.โ€

I was about to refuse, but then I didnโ€™t want to miss the chance to eat with such a talented designer, so I agreed.

โ€œAlright, I know a new place nearby. The foodโ€™s pretty good. Letโ€™s go there.โ€

We agreed. After that, we covered up the completed dress with a fabric, locked the door, and left the studio.

The two of us headed to a nearby barbecue stand. As soon as we sat down, I eagerly ordered a variety of my favorite dishes.

โ€œMs. Carson, donโ€™t be shy. This dinner is on me tonight,โ€ I said, enthusiastically.

Hayley smiled and said, โ€œWell, in that case, I wonโ€™t hold back.โ€

She took the menu, picked some dishes she liked, and handed it to the waiter.

โ€œMs. Carson, do you drink beer? Barbecue and beer go perfectly together.โ€

Hayley seemed interested and she said, โ€œAlright, give me a bottle.โ€

I happily turned to the waiter. โ€œTwo bottles of beer, please.โ€

Noticing how familiar I was with the place, Hayley asked, โ€œDo you come here often?โ€

I explained, โ€œNot really, just a few times with colleagues. The barbecue here is really authenticโ€”youโ€™ll see when you try it.โ€

โ€œSounds good, Iโ€™m excited to try it.โ€

As we were talking, Hayleyโ€™s phone buzzed.
