Chapter 336: Intimidation
Benjaminโs POV:
The moment I finished speaking, Tyroneโs eyes widened in surprise. โI knew itโitโs because of Ms. Carson!โ He looked at me like heโd discovered a rare treasure, then added with a dramatic flourish, โAlpha, Ms. Carson is something else! Sheโs actually avoiding you.โ
โSo many women have thrown themselves at you over the years, only to be turned away without mercy. Hayley is the firstโand probably the onlyโperson whoโs ever dared to say โnoโ to you!โ
The way Tyrone looked at me even carried a hint of schadenfreude. I shot him a warning glare, and he quickly toned down his smile before continuing.
โAlpha, did you do something to make Ms. Carson mad? Or did you two have a fight?โ
โHonestly, girls arenโt that hard to make up withโa bouquet of flowers, a box of chocolates, maybe a romantic candlelit dinner. Works like a charm! Want to give it a try?โ
I replied dryly, โDo I seem like someone so clichรฉ?โ
Tyrone quickly shook his head. โNo, of course not. Iโm just sayingโit works for some people. But obviously, it depends on the person and how deep your relationship is.โ
I knew what he was getting at. But the problem was, I didnโt even know how to explain myself to Hayley. The whole situation was a misunderstanding from the start.
โAlright, leave me alone for now,โ I said.
After Tyrone left, I pulled out my phone. First, I contacted a florist and ordered a fresh bouquet of roses. Then, I ordered a large box of premium chocolates and had them delivered to Hayleyโs school by one of my men.
But that didnโt feel like enough. So, I opened my banking app and transferred money directly to Hayleyโs account.
Ding! I sent her 1,800 dollars with the note: โThat day was a misunderstanding. Please let me explain.โ
Ding! I sent her another 1,800 dollars with the note: โI donโt know what you heard or saw, but itโs not what you think.โ
Ding! Yet another 1,800 dollars, with the note: โI have no interest in any other woman. Please trust me.โ
Hayleyโs POV:
Weโd barely gotten through one class when my phone kept buzzing incessantly. When I finally pulled it out to check, I was stunned. My screen was flooded with notificationsโtransfer messages from Benjamin.
I scrolled up to the first one and began reading through them one by one.
By the time I finished, my expression had softened, and a faint smile crept onto my face. My mood improved significantly.
โBoss, someoneโs here to see you at the door,โ Henry said as he walked into the classroom, holding an enormous bouquet of roses.
The sight instantly caused a commotion among our classmates, with whispers and giggles spreading through the room.
Henry walked straight up to me and handed me the roses. โBoss, these are for you!โ
Blinking in surprise, I stared at the bouquet. I could already guess that Benjamin was behind this.
But that wasnโt the end of it. A moment later, a Beta warrior walked into the classroom, holding a box of chocolates. He handed them to me and said, โOh, and hereโs a box of chocolates! Almost forgotโthese are for you too, Ms. Carson.โ
I stared at the items in my hands, momentarily stunned.
Beside me, Henry grinned mischievously. โBoss, whoโs the lucky guy? So old-fashioned, giving you roses and chocolatesโฆ Donโt tell meโโ
He cut himself off mid-sentence, covering his mouth dramatically. But his face was full of glee, and he burst into laughter a moment later.
โBoss, all of this has to be from Ben, right? Seriously, how is he this cheesy? Roses and chocolates? What is this, the โ90s?โ
I shot him a sharp look and hugged the bouquet protectively. โShut up! At least heโs thoughtful enough to give roses and chocolates. No wonder youโre still single.โ
Henry immediately zipped his lips, pretending to look hurt.
I didnโt argue with him further. Instead, I held the bouquet close and couldnโt stop the smile spreading across my face.
Just then, Benjaminโs name flashed across my phone screen. He was calling me.
I hesitated for a moment, then rejected the call without answering.
