Chapter 335: Begging

Hayleyโ€™s POV:

Faced with my stern questioning, Belleโ€™s body trembled slightly, but she continued to deny everything. โ€œI donโ€™t know what youโ€™re talking about. What did I even do?โ€

I didnโ€™t get angry. Instead, I replied calmly, โ€œYou donโ€™t understand? Should I call the principal to help jog your memory? After all, whether you get to stay in this school or not is something that could change with just a word from me. What do you think?โ€

Hearing that, Belle completely panicked. She lowered her head and shrank into herself. She looked at me, her voice trembling as she humbly pleaded, โ€œHayley, weโ€™re classmates, and weโ€™ll see each other every day at school. Canโ€™t we just let this go? Please donโ€™t hold this against me.โ€

I shook my head. โ€œThis isnโ€™t about me holding a grudge. Itโ€™s about you showing a genuine attitude of apology. Otherwiseโ€ฆโ€

I let my words hang in the air deliberately, and before I could finish, Belle shut her eyes tightly, gritted her teeth, and then bent at the waist, bowing to me. โ€œIโ€™m sorry, Hayley. I was wrong. Please forgive me,โ€ she said stiffly.

I knew that for someone like herโ€”always high and mighty, looking down on me as an Omegaโ€”it wasnโ€™t easy to apologize. But remembering her malicious nature, I wanted to make her pay for it.

Feigning disinterest, I said, โ€œLouder. I didnโ€™t hear you. Also, what exactly are you apologizing for? Say it clearly!โ€

Belle glanced nervously at the surrounding classmates who were watching the scene unfold. She then looked back at me, biting her lip, and said through clenched teeth, โ€œHayley, Iโ€™m sorry. I was the one who spread the rumors at school, saying you were messing around with rogue wolves and got pregnant. I realize now that it hurt your reputation, and I sincerely hope you can forgive me.โ€

After speaking, she bowed deeply again, her posture appearing very sincere. The murmurs from our classmates quickly filled the room.

โ€œWhat? Sheโ€™s the one who spread that rumor?โ€ โ€œSeriously? Making up something so vile about someoneโ€™s reputation? Thatโ€™s just despicable!โ€ โ€œWhen she first transferred here, I thought she seemed decent, but nowโ€ฆ ugh, what a disappointment.โ€

Hearing the murmurs, Belle kept her head lowered, her face flushed with shame.

I stared at her and warned her coldly, โ€œI accept your apology, but forgiveness is up to the heavens. Iโ€™ll say this onceโ€”donโ€™t provoke me again. Otherwise, I swear on the Moon Goddess, Iโ€™ll make sure you regret it.โ€

Belleโ€™s POV:

Just then, the school bell rang, and the students scattered to their seats. But I could still feel their disdainful stares piercing into me from all directions. My fists clenched silently under the desk. This humiliationโ€”all of itโ€”was because of Hayley. I wonโ€™t let her get away with this.

As I replayed her warning in my mind, I smirked with disdain. Hayley, a weak Omega, wants to threaten me? Me, a Beta? Laughable. The only reason sheโ€™s holding her ground now is because the Southwell family is protecting her. Once Benjamin chooses my cousin Madeline to be his Luna, Iโ€™ll make sure Hayley disappears for good. If I canโ€™t beat her openly, Iโ€™ll deal with her in the shadows. Besides, my cousin Madeline has Hayleyโ€™s greatest weakness in her hands. Letโ€™s see how long Hayleyโ€™s luck holds out.

Benjaminโ€™s POV:

Thinking about Hayleyโ€™s cold attitude toward me had been weighing on me for days.

โ€œAlphaโ€ฆโ€ Tyrone called out, pushing the door open. He repeated my name a few times before I finally snapped out of my thoughts. He approached with some paperwork. โ€œAlpha, this is the new contract. Legal has already reviewed it. All thatโ€™s left is your signature.โ€

Blinking, I forced myself to focus. โ€œWhat did you say?โ€ I asked, still distracted.

Tyrone sighed in exasperation and set the document down in front of me. โ€œAlpha, youโ€™ve been out of it these past few days. Maybe you should take a break and stop pushing yourself so hard,โ€ he suggested, concern evident in his tone.

I frowned but took the papers from him, flipping to the last page and signing my name. โ€œIโ€™m fine,โ€ I said curtly, brushing off his worry.

Tyrone didnโ€™t look convinced. He scrutinized me for a moment before blurting out, โ€œAlpha, are you in a bad mood because of Ms. Carson?โ€

I couldnโ€™t help but admire Tyroneโ€™s sharp intuition. As my assistant, his ability to sense things was unmatched. He hit the nail on the head without hesitation.

Narrowing my eyes slightly, I looked at him and asked casually, โ€œWhat do you think is going on with her? Why is she avoiding me?โ€
