Chapter 428: I Could Come With You

When I opened the door, I invited him inside. Henry gave me a disapproving look. โ€œBoss, youโ€™re finally back. Iโ€™ve been waiting forever.โ€ After saying that, he glanced at Benjamin. โ€œBen, youโ€™re here too.โ€ Benjamin gave him a simple nod. Henry studied both of us for a moment, his frown deepening. Then he spoke again. โ€œBoss, I canโ€™t shake the feeling that youโ€™re starting to give off the same energy as Ben here. Youโ€™re starting to look like an Alpha.โ€

His comment caught me off guard. I quickly looked at Benjamin, wondering how he would react. But Benjamin seemed unfazed. His attention was more focused on the envelope Henry was holding. Henry suddenly remembered and handed me the envelope. โ€œBoss, hereโ€™s your letter.โ€ Relieved, I took the envelope and thanked him. โ€œThanks.โ€

โ€œBoss, Iโ€™ve delivered everything, so I wonโ€™t bother you any longer. Iโ€™ve got other things to take care of,โ€ Henry said, turning to leave. Without further delay, he was gone. Once the door closed behind him, the silence of the room enveloped me. It was just Benjamin and me now.

I carefully tucked the letter away, then walked over to the couch and hugged him, feeling a wave of sadness. โ€œIn September, Iโ€™m heading off to Cryving for college. Does that mean weโ€™ll be in a long-distance relationship?โ€ Benjaminโ€™s eyes tightened slightly as he kissed me gently, his voice tinged with sorrow. โ€œI donโ€™t want to be in a long-distance relationship with you.โ€

โ€œNeither do I, but it seems like thatโ€™s our only option, butโ€ฆโ€ I looked up at him. โ€œIโ€™ll try to finish my courses as quickly as possible, maybe even graduate early, so we wonโ€™t have to be apart.โ€ Benjamin reached up and softly rubbed my head. โ€œDonโ€™t push yourself too hard for me. And donโ€™t forget, Iโ€™ve chosen you as my mate. Even if weโ€™re apart, Iโ€™ll always think of you, love you, and stay loyal to you.โ€

โ€œIโ€™ll do the same!โ€ I promised him with certainty. Heraโ€™s voice echoed in my mind. โ€œYou donโ€™t need to worry. The Moon Goddess destined you two as mates. As long as youโ€™ve marked each other, youโ€™ll never truly be apart in this lifetime.โ€ She teased, โ€œWhy not just mate with him now and mark him?โ€

Chapter 427: The Letter

I sighed in exasperation and silenced her. Benjamin and I stayed in each otherโ€™s arms for a long while before I reluctantly pulled away. โ€œItโ€™s getting late. You should get some rest.โ€ He looked at me, narrowing his eyes. โ€œSo, youโ€™re already planning to send me away?โ€ I playfully pushed him. โ€œGo on, go! See you tomorrow!โ€

โ€œHayley, when will I get to stay and keep you company?โ€ Benjaminโ€™s voice was deep and filled with longing as he gazed at me. I tried to keep my emotions in check, urging him, โ€œJust go! Iโ€™m really tired.โ€ With a soft sigh, Benjamin finally gave in. โ€œAlright, Iโ€™ll go. Get some good rest tonight.โ€ I watched him leave, his gaze still full of desire, and quickly shut the door behind him. Once I could no longer sense his presence, I leaned against the door, exhaling deeply.

Benjaminโ€™s POV:

I stood outside, staring at the closed door with a heavy sigh. The more involved I became with her, the harder it was to control my desire to get intimate with her. But I knew it wasnโ€™t the right time. I closed my eyes, pushing all thoughts aside. Slowly, my heart began to settle.

Once back in my room, I called my assistant. โ€œTyrone, I heard the Cryving branch needs a manager. Can you handle it? I plan on going there next month to take over.โ€ Tyrone, sounding a bit surprised, stammered on the other end of the line. โ€œAlphaโ€ฆ are you serious?โ€

I spoke with determination. โ€œYes. The Midnight Packโ€™s management is stable now, and I donโ€™t need to stay here all the time. There are plenty of business opportunities at the Southwell Groupโ€™s branch. Iโ€™ll be able to manage things better if Iโ€™m there. So, itโ€™s settled.โ€ Tyrone paused for a moment before replying respectfully. โ€œUnderstood, Alpha. Iโ€™ll take care of it.โ€

After hanging up, I gazed out the window, watching the night sky. The moon looked especially beautiful tonight. Hayley seemed like the perfect mate the Moon Goddess had gifted me. Iโ€™d do anything for her. As long as she didnโ€™t lie to meโ€ฆ

I turned over in bed, still half-asleep, and sunlight began pouring through the window, filling the room with warmth. Stretching, I sat up and got dressed before heading to the bathroom to freshen up. Just then, the doorbell rang. Without needing to check, I knew it was Benjamin. Hera urged me to hurry, and I opened the door.

Benjamin stood there, holding a breakfast tray. โ€œWhy are you up so early?โ€ I asked. โ€œI made breakfast and brought it to you,โ€ he said with a smile as he stepped inside. He placed the tray down and added, โ€œIโ€™ll take you over after we finish breakfast.โ€ I quickly sat down at the table, across from him, and we began to eat together.

Just then, my phone dinged with a new message. I checked it and saw that Christine had sent me a picture. The message that popped up on my phone was a screenshot of an email, with the words โ€œNew Collegeโ€ clearly visible at the top. Right after that, Christineโ€™s voice message came through.

โ€œHayley, I got into New College!โ€ she exclaimed, her voice full of excitement. I couldnโ€™t help but smile as I replied, โ€œThatโ€™s awesome, congrats!โ€ Christine went on, explaining, โ€œI applied on a whim, using my hockey skills. I honestly didnโ€™t think Iโ€™d make it, especially since Iโ€™m an Omega. But, somehow got in!โ€

โ€œThatโ€™s so great! Weโ€™ll be at the same school after all!โ€ I responded. Christine then wrote, โ€œBy the way, I heard youโ€™re working at Tannerโ€™s studio, right? Send me the address. Iโ€™ll come find you later.โ€ I quickly shot her the location, then turned my attention to Benjamin, who was sitting across from me. โ€œChristine got into New College too. Weโ€™re going to the same school.โ€

โ€œWell, she got in because of her special talent, so weโ€™re technically not in the same department, but weโ€™re still at the same college. Thatโ€™s already something.โ€ โ€œThatโ€™s nice. At least youโ€™ll have each other.โ€ Benjamin nodded, but his expression turned more thoughtful. โ€œAre you sure youโ€™re okay living on your own? I could come with you if you need me.โ€

โ€œNo,โ€ I immediately shook my head. โ€œNo, youโ€™ve got so much on your plate managing both the Midnight Pack and the Southwell Group. You donโ€™t need to worry about me.โ€ Benjamin took my hand and gave it a gentle squeeze. โ€œThe Midnight Pack is stable now, and Southwell can manage without me. But you, an Omega, all by yourself in a new placeโ€ฆ it worries me.โ€

I smiled reassuringly, placing my hand on his cheek. โ€œIโ€™ll be fine. Plus, Iโ€™ll have Henry and Christine around. You donโ€™t need to worry about me.โ€ After finishing my breakfast, I stood up and said, โ€œI have to get to the studio. Iโ€™ve got a wedding dress project, and Iโ€™m still figuring it out. I need to focus.โ€

Benjamin stood as well, grabbing the car keys and wrapping his arm around me. โ€œIโ€™ll drive you there.โ€ He dropped me off at the studio and left, and I immediately set my bag down. The blank sheet of paper in front of me stared back, waiting for inspiration. I scrolled through some ideas online, but nothing seemed to click.

Just as frustration began to creep in, there was a knock on the door. โ€œHayley, are you there?โ€ Christineโ€™s voice came through. โ€œCome on in!โ€ I called out, relieved for the distraction. Christine entered with a cheerful smile. โ€œHey, I heard from the others that a lot of people are coming toโ€ฆโ€

Chapter 428: I Could Come With You

She walked over, looking at me with admiration. โ€œWow Hayley, not only are you a famous musician Harmony, but youโ€™re also an amazing designer!โ€ โ€œSeriously, I donโ€™t know how you manage it all. As an Omega like me, I canโ€™t even come close to your talent!โ€ I felt a little uncomfortable with all the praise, but instead of saying anything, I just nodded.

โ€œChristine, actuallyโ€ฆโ€ โ€œWell, I was an Alpha, not an Omega,โ€ I almost blurted, but then stopped myself. It didnโ€™t feel like the right time to share that. โ€œActually what?โ€ she asked, raising an eyebrow. โ€œNothing,โ€ I quickly replied. โ€œHey, when you get married, Iโ€™ll design your wedding dress for you, okay?โ€

Christineโ€™s face lit up. โ€œI would love that!โ€ We chatted for a while, and before long, lunch was approaching. I glanced at the A4 paper again and said, โ€œIโ€™m really sorry, but Iโ€™ve got to get to work. Letโ€™s grab lunch after.โ€ โ€œOf course! Go ahead and work!โ€ Christine replied as she picked up a magazine and flopped down onto the couch.

I pushed the A4 paper aside and started sketching. But no matter how many lines I drew, nothing felt right. Frustrated, I balled up the paper and threw it toward the trash bin, but I missed, and the crumpled paper landed at Christineโ€™s feet. She put down the magazine, leaned over to pick it up, and unrolled it. โ€œHayley, whatโ€™s going on?โ€

I let out a heavy sigh. โ€œItโ€™s nothing. The client gave me a tricky brief, thatโ€™s all.โ€ Christine, ever curious, asked, โ€œWhatโ€™s the problem? Maybe I can help.โ€ I hesitated for a moment before replying, โ€œChristine, what secrets can there possibly be in a blank A4 sheet?โ€ She thought about it for a second, then answered seriously, โ€œA blank sheet of paper? Itโ€™s justโ€ฆ a blank sheet. What kind of secret could it be hiding?โ€

I had been thinking the same thing at first, but the client had mentioned all the details were hidden in the paper. So what could be on it? Christine held the paper up and said, โ€œItโ€™s not that the paper itself has secrets, but think about its potential. You can write anything on it, fold it in any way you wantโ€ฆโ€

Suddenly, it hit me. โ€œWaitโ€ฆ what did you just say?โ€ I asked, my eyes widening as the idea clicked. Christine looked confused. โ€œWhat?โ€ But I was too excited to explain. I quickly slapped my forehead and exclaimed. โ€œI got it! I got it!โ€
