Chapter 428: I Could Come With You
When I opened the door, I invited him inside. Henry gave me a disapproving look. โBoss, youโre finally back. Iโve been waiting forever.โ After saying that, he glanced at Benjamin. โBen, youโre here too.โ Benjamin gave him a simple nod. Henry studied both of us for a moment, his frown deepening. Then he spoke again. โBoss, I canโt shake the feeling that youโre starting to give off the same energy as Ben here. Youโre starting to look like an Alpha.โ
His comment caught me off guard. I quickly looked at Benjamin, wondering how he would react. But Benjamin seemed unfazed. His attention was more focused on the envelope Henry was holding. Henry suddenly remembered and handed me the envelope. โBoss, hereโs your letter.โ Relieved, I took the envelope and thanked him. โThanks.โ
โBoss, Iโve delivered everything, so I wonโt bother you any longer. Iโve got other things to take care of,โ Henry said, turning to leave. Without further delay, he was gone. Once the door closed behind him, the silence of the room enveloped me. It was just Benjamin and me now.
I carefully tucked the letter away, then walked over to the couch and hugged him, feeling a wave of sadness. โIn September, Iโm heading off to Cryving for college. Does that mean weโll be in a long-distance relationship?โ Benjaminโs eyes tightened slightly as he kissed me gently, his voice tinged with sorrow. โI donโt want to be in a long-distance relationship with you.โ
โNeither do I, but it seems like thatโs our only option, butโฆโ I looked up at him. โIโll try to finish my courses as quickly as possible, maybe even graduate early, so we wonโt have to be apart.โ Benjamin reached up and softly rubbed my head. โDonโt push yourself too hard for me. And donโt forget, Iโve chosen you as my mate. Even if weโre apart, Iโll always think of you, love you, and stay loyal to you.โ
โIโll do the same!โ I promised him with certainty. Heraโs voice echoed in my mind. โYou donโt need to worry. The Moon Goddess destined you two as mates. As long as youโve marked each other, youโll never truly be apart in this lifetime.โ She teased, โWhy not just mate with him now and mark him?โ
Chapter 427: The Letter
I sighed in exasperation and silenced her. Benjamin and I stayed in each otherโs arms for a long while before I reluctantly pulled away. โItโs getting late. You should get some rest.โ He looked at me, narrowing his eyes. โSo, youโre already planning to send me away?โ I playfully pushed him. โGo on, go! See you tomorrow!โ
โHayley, when will I get to stay and keep you company?โ Benjaminโs voice was deep and filled with longing as he gazed at me. I tried to keep my emotions in check, urging him, โJust go! Iโm really tired.โ With a soft sigh, Benjamin finally gave in. โAlright, Iโll go. Get some good rest tonight.โ I watched him leave, his gaze still full of desire, and quickly shut the door behind him. Once I could no longer sense his presence, I leaned against the door, exhaling deeply.
Benjaminโs POV:
I stood outside, staring at the closed door with a heavy sigh. The more involved I became with her, the harder it was to control my desire to get intimate with her. But I knew it wasnโt the right time. I closed my eyes, pushing all thoughts aside. Slowly, my heart began to settle.
Once back in my room, I called my assistant. โTyrone, I heard the Cryving branch needs a manager. Can you handle it? I plan on going there next month to take over.โ Tyrone, sounding a bit surprised, stammered on the other end of the line. โAlphaโฆ are you serious?โ
I spoke with determination. โYes. The Midnight Packโs management is stable now, and I donโt need to stay here all the time. There are plenty of business opportunities at the Southwell Groupโs branch. Iโll be able to manage things better if Iโm there. So, itโs settled.โ Tyrone paused for a moment before replying respectfully. โUnderstood, Alpha. Iโll take care of it.โ
After hanging up, I gazed out the window, watching the night sky. The moon looked especially beautiful tonight. Hayley seemed like the perfect mate the Moon Goddess had gifted me. Iโd do anything for her. As long as she didnโt lie to meโฆ
Chapter 427: The Letter
I turned over in bed, still half-asleep, and sunlight began pouring through the window, filling the room with warmth. Stretching, I sat up and got dressed before heading to the bathroom to freshen up. Just then, the doorbell rang. Without needing to check, I knew it was Benjamin. Hera urged me to hurry, and I opened the door.
Benjamin stood there, holding a breakfast tray. โWhy are you up so early?โ I asked. โI made breakfast and brought it to you,โ he said with a smile as he stepped inside. He placed the tray down and added, โIโll take you over after we finish breakfast.โ I quickly sat down at the table, across from him, and we began to eat together.
Just then, my phone dinged with a new message. I checked it and saw that Christine had sent me a picture. The message that popped up on my phone was a screenshot of an email, with the words โNew Collegeโ clearly visible at the top. Right after that, Christineโs voice message came through.
โHayley, I got into New College!โ she exclaimed, her voice full of excitement. I couldnโt help but smile as I replied, โThatโs awesome, congrats!โ Christine went on, explaining, โI applied on a whim, using my hockey skills. I honestly didnโt think Iโd make it, especially since Iโm an Omega. But, somehow got in!โ
โThatโs so great! Weโll be at the same school after all!โ I responded. Christine then wrote, โBy the way, I heard youโre working at Tannerโs studio, right? Send me the address. Iโll come find you later.โ I quickly shot her the location, then turned my attention to Benjamin, who was sitting across from me. โChristine got into New College too. Weโre going to the same school.โ
โWell, she got in because of her special talent, so weโre technically not in the same department, but weโre still at the same college. Thatโs already something.โ โThatโs nice. At least youโll have each other.โ Benjamin nodded, but his expression turned more thoughtful. โAre you sure youโre okay living on your own? I could come with you if you need me.โ
โNo,โ I immediately shook my head. โNo, youโve got so much on your plate managing both the Midnight Pack and the Southwell Group. You donโt need to worry about me.โ Benjamin took my hand and gave it a gentle squeeze. โThe Midnight Pack is stable now, and Southwell can manage without me. But you, an Omega, all by yourself in a new placeโฆ it worries me.โ
I smiled reassuringly, placing my hand on his cheek. โIโll be fine. Plus, Iโll have Henry and Christine around. You donโt need to worry about me.โ After finishing my breakfast, I stood up and said, โI have to get to the studio. Iโve got a wedding dress project, and Iโm still figuring it out. I need to focus.โ
Benjamin stood as well, grabbing the car keys and wrapping his arm around me. โIโll drive you there.โ He dropped me off at the studio and left, and I immediately set my bag down. The blank sheet of paper in front of me stared back, waiting for inspiration. I scrolled through some ideas online, but nothing seemed to click.
Just as frustration began to creep in, there was a knock on the door. โHayley, are you there?โ Christineโs voice came through. โCome on in!โ I called out, relieved for the distraction. Christine entered with a cheerful smile. โHey, I heard from the others that a lot of people are coming toโฆโ
Chapter 428: I Could Come With You
She walked over, looking at me with admiration. โWow Hayley, not only are you a famous musician Harmony, but youโre also an amazing designer!โ โSeriously, I donโt know how you manage it all. As an Omega like me, I canโt even come close to your talent!โ I felt a little uncomfortable with all the praise, but instead of saying anything, I just nodded.
โChristine, actuallyโฆโ โWell, I was an Alpha, not an Omega,โ I almost blurted, but then stopped myself. It didnโt feel like the right time to share that. โActually what?โ she asked, raising an eyebrow. โNothing,โ I quickly replied. โHey, when you get married, Iโll design your wedding dress for you, okay?โ
Christineโs face lit up. โI would love that!โ We chatted for a while, and before long, lunch was approaching. I glanced at the A4 paper again and said, โIโm really sorry, but Iโve got to get to work. Letโs grab lunch after.โ โOf course! Go ahead and work!โ Christine replied as she picked up a magazine and flopped down onto the couch.
I pushed the A4 paper aside and started sketching. But no matter how many lines I drew, nothing felt right. Frustrated, I balled up the paper and threw it toward the trash bin, but I missed, and the crumpled paper landed at Christineโs feet. She put down the magazine, leaned over to pick it up, and unrolled it. โHayley, whatโs going on?โ
I let out a heavy sigh. โItโs nothing. The client gave me a tricky brief, thatโs all.โ Christine, ever curious, asked, โWhatโs the problem? Maybe I can help.โ I hesitated for a moment before replying, โChristine, what secrets can there possibly be in a blank A4 sheet?โ She thought about it for a second, then answered seriously, โA blank sheet of paper? Itโs justโฆ a blank sheet. What kind of secret could it be hiding?โ
I had been thinking the same thing at first, but the client had mentioned all the details were hidden in the paper. So what could be on it? Christine held the paper up and said, โItโs not that the paper itself has secrets, but think about its potential. You can write anything on it, fold it in any way you wantโฆโ
Suddenly, it hit me. โWaitโฆ what did you just say?โ I asked, my eyes widening as the idea clicked. Christine looked confused. โWhat?โ But I was too excited to explain. I quickly slapped my forehead and exclaimed. โI got it! I got it!โ
