Alpha Hayleyโs Destined Mate
Chapter 509: A Completely Different Person
Odessaโs POV:
โHow long have I been unconscious? Didnโt they say Hayley was accused of being the culprit? How did she get released?โ
Henry calmly answered my questions. โMom, youโve been out for three days. Hayley, locked up in a cell, surely didnโt have it as easy as us staying here by your side.โ
โSpeaking of which, we have to thank the eyewitness this time. If they hadnโt come forward, Hayley might really have been charged.โ
Hearing that, I clenched my teeth in anger. I shouldโve woken up earlierโthen I couldโve stopped her from being released. Knowing Benjamin even went to pick her up only made my blood boil.
โIt was just a few days in lockup. Itโs not like she was gravely injured. Whatโs the big deal about picking her up?โ
โBenjamin is like a completely different person.โ
โMom, maybe itโs you whoโs changed,โ Christopher interjected. โHayleyโs a good person. Even though sheโs an Omega, sheโs talented. And more importantly, sheโs someone Ben loves. Picking a fight with her only makes him upset.โ
His words stung, and in my anger, I accidentally tugged at my wound. The sharp pain made me gasp.
โAre you turning against me now?โ I snapped at him loudly.
โCareful, Momโฆโ Christopher hurried over to support me.
โI donโt need your help!โ Still seething, I impatiently pushed his hand away.
Tears welled in my eyes as I vented to my sons. โBack when our pack was at war, I risked my life to give birth to you all. And now? Now you all side with her and go against me. It hurts more than anything.โ
โWhatโs so great about Hayley? Sheโs been full of secrets since the beginningโwho knows what else sheโs hiding? She has no respect for me, and yet all of you act blind!โ
โMark my words. Sheโs probably Johnnyโs mistress!โ I bitterly exposed her true colors.
Hayleyโs POV:
As Grandpa and I approached the door, we overheard Odessaโs malicious accusations. Grandpa stopped in his tracks. The next moment, his fists were clenched tightly, and his face darkened with fury.
โAs long as Iโm still alive and part of the Midnight Pack, she can forget about becoming Luna.โ
I bit my lip, struggling to suppress my rising anger. However, Grandpa had reached his limit, and he stormed into the room. His imposing figure towered over Odessaโs sickbed as his crimson wolf eyes glared down at her.
โShut up!โ he bellowed. โDo you think my granddaughter is so desperate that she has to cling to your son, Benjamin?โ
Odessa recognized him instantly. When she noticed me, her face showed a moment of awkwardness, but she quickly regained her composure and spoke with feigned confidence.
โIf thatโs not the case, then prove it! Donโt just throw around empty words.โ
Grandpaโs voice deepened. โAs Benjaminโs mother, you lack even the most basic manners!โ
Odessa smirked mockingly. โYou flatter me. But no matter how rude I am, the Midnight Pack will always be stronger than the Shadow Pack. The Southwells naturally outrank the Carsons.โ
โHayley, as an Omega, should already be grateful that I didnโt make her bow before me. Thatโs enough respect for her!โ
Her arrogant, belittling words pushed me to my breaking point. My inner wolf, Hera, growled restlessly, urging me to retaliate.
Grandpa scoffed. โFine. If thatโs how you feel, then from today onward, the alliance between our two packs is over! The engagement between Hayley and Benjamin has come to an end. From now on, the Carsons and the Southwells will have no further ties!โ
โBill, donโt act so rashly!โ Benjamin rushed to intervene.
โThereโs nothing more to say,โ Grandfather cut him off firmly. โYou Midnight wolves are so powerful. You donโt need Shadow Packโs help. And your mother has made it clearโHayley is not fit to be your Luna. So, donโt bother my granddaughter ever again!โ
He turned to me with a sharp look. โCome on, Hayley. Letโs go back to the Shadow Pack and never return to this place.โ
Without waiting for my response, he grabbed my hand and started walking away, his determination unshakable. Inside, Hera snarled. Her fury mirrored the ache in my heart as it felt like it was being torn apart.
