Alpha Hayleyโs Destined Mate: Chapter 511 Cannot Accept Her
โAh!โ Odessa disregarded her own injuries and threw herself into Benjaminโs arms, sobbing uncontrollably. โBen, my son! How could you do this? How could you hurt yourself? Youโre the Alpha of the Midnight Pack. If anything happens to you, what will become of our people?โ
Benjamin, clutching his wound, had veins bulging on his face, his eyes bloodshot and filled with agony. Yet, through gritted teeth, he managed to speak. โI feel like Hayley is my destined mate. Without her, I donโt want to live. Mom, canโt you accept her?โ
Odessa cried harder, tears and snot streaming down her face. She was reluctant, but seeing Benjamin so desperate, she finally gave in. โFine, I accept. I agree to your relationship. Is that what you want? Just donโt say anything more. Iโll make sure you live!โ
She turned to shout for help. โDoctor! Doctor!โ
Benjamin was her most outstanding child, the Alpha of the Midnight Pack. If anything happened to him, it would feel like half her life was taken away. However, Benjaminโs strong voice rang out. โNo need.โ
Odessaโs sobs halted abruptly as she looked down at him in shock. The weak and agonized Benjamin now wore a completely normal expression. He rose from her arms, revealing the small knife he had used earlier. Slowly, he gripped the blade, watching as the tip retracted and flattened. It was a propโa spring knife with no killing power. The blood on his body? That had been prepared by a professional before he returned.
Odessa stared at him, stunned, for a full half-minute before realization struck. โYou lied to me?โ Her face turned red with fury. โHow dare you deceive me like this!โ
Benjaminโs expression remained blank as he casually tossed the knife into the corner. โThis might be fakeโor maybe itโs not,โ he said calmly. โBut in any case, youโve already given me your word. Youโve agreed to accept Hayley as my Luna.โ
Odessa opened her mouth, about to argue, but Benjamin cut her off. โI hope you understand,โ he said firmly. โWhat just happened wasnโt just a show. I wouldnโt necessarily die in front of you, but I certainly wouldnโt survive if Hayley and I were ever truly apart.โ Before Odessa could react, he turned and left.
Hayleyโs POV:
It had been a long time since I had returned to Shadow Pack, and everything felt both familiar and comforting. Yet, the thought of not knowing when I would see Benjamin again cast a shadow over my heart.
Grandpa poured me a glass of wine, his voice heavy with concern. โHayley, forget about him. With a mother like Odessa, if you marry into their family, sheโll make your life miserable.โ
โBenjamin might be the Alpha of the Midnight Pack, but Odessa is still his mother,โ he continued. โHe wonโt turn his back on her for you.โ
Grandma nodded in agreement. โYour grandpaโs right. Donโt forgetโyouโre the Alpha of the Shadow Pack. How could we stand by and let Odessa make trouble for you?โ
I did not want them to worry, so I forced a smile. โDonโt worry, Iโm not thinking about him. Itโs just been a while since Iโve been back, and Iโm feeling a bit off.โ
Pushing my chair back, I stood. โIโm full. You two take your time eating. Iโll join you for a walk later.โ
With that, I let Hera take control, releasing my emotions as I ran wildly through the forest near the manor. When I had vented enough, I shifted back and wandered aimlessly through the streets. Then Hera stirred, her excitement palpable. She had caught a familiar scent, and my heart began to race.
Scanning my surroundings, I stopped when my eyes landed on a shop window at the corner of the street. Through the glass, I saw himโBenjamin.
