Alpha Hayleyโ€™s Destined Mate

Chapter 549: Get Out While You Can

Hayleyโ€™s POV:

I only grabbed Thomasโ€™s exclusive custom card for the Somers instead of my own to avoid exposing my identity as the Alpha of Shadow Pack. The Somersโ€™s custom card was more than enough to command respect from someone as snobbish as this manager. I was curious to see how he would react when he saw this card.

โ€œListen, young girl, donโ€™t bother looking for the store manager. Let me be straight with you; my word is as good as his. You canโ€™t afford to mess with Mr. Jonah. If you know whatโ€™s good for you, get out while you can, and donโ€™t make this difficult for either of us.โ€

Under Jonahโ€™s oppressive presence, the manager didnโ€™t even glance at the card in my hand. He was too eager to shoo me away. However, Mira and I remained calm and unfazed.

The managerโ€™s tone grew harsher. โ€œIf you keep causing trouble here and disrupt our business, we will send you to the police station right away!โ€

His confidence soared. He was sure that Mira and I were nothing but broke students. My status as an Omega made me an easy target in his eyes.

Just then, Mira, who had been silent beside me all this time, casually lifted her phone and waved it slightly as she spoke calmly, โ€œIโ€™ve recorded everything that just happened, and now I can upload it at any time for the whole world to see. Letโ€™s see what netizens say about whoโ€™s in the wrong here.โ€

The manager stiffened for a moment before his face twisted with rage. He suddenly lunged at Mira, reaching to snatch her phone.

Seeing this, I pulled out my phone and called the police. My voice was firm and steady as I declared, โ€œThen letโ€™s call the cops.โ€

A flicker of panic crossed the managerโ€™s face, but he quickly composed himself and approached Jonah instead. His tone instantly shifted to one of submissive desperation. โ€œMr. Jonah, I deeply apologize for letting this situation disturb you. Would you be willing to help smooth things over? Perhaps we can turn this into a minor issue instead of a major one?โ€

Jonah narrowed his eyes and considered it for a moment before nodding. โ€œSince you have said that, todayโ€™s matter will not be investigated.โ€

The manager let out a relieved sigh, bowing slightly. โ€œThank you, Mr. Jonah, for your understanding.โ€

Seeing the disgusting expressions on their faces, I spoke coldly, โ€œLooks like you still donโ€™t understand the situation. He might not press charges, but that has nothing to do with me. Iโ€™ve already called the police. No one is leaving until they get here.โ€

Recently, Iโ€™d been running into too many scumbags. The only way to keep them from resurfacing was to deal with them properly. Otherwise, theyโ€™d just crawl back one day and corrupt my vision all over again. Being in the same room as people like them, even my wolf, Hera, was restless with disgust.

One of them scanned the room before calling out, โ€œWho called the police just now?โ€

โ€œI did,โ€ I said firmly.

He walked up to me, pulled out a notepad, and started taking notes while asking, โ€œDid you report harassment?โ€

โ€œThatโ€™s right,โ€ I confirmed.

โ€œHarassment?โ€ Hearing this, the managerโ€™s face twisted in anger. He hurried forward, desperate to defend himself. โ€œOfficer, Iโ€™m the manager of this store,โ€ he said, his tone full of self-righteousness. โ€œI can assure you, this young ladyโ€™s accusation is completely false. Sheโ€™s just trying to cause trouble for our new car exhibition. This is a deliberate disturbance! You have to take them in and teach them a lesson!โ€

The officer shot him a sharp glare, his patience clearly wearing thin. โ€œEveryone, come with me to the station for questioning!โ€ he barked.

The managerโ€™s face instantly drained of color, and I couldnโ€™t help but feel a little satisfied at the sight. Turning to the officer beside me, I asked politely, โ€œExcuse me, which police district are you from?โ€

โ€œThe city station nearby,โ€ he replied absentmindedly.

โ€œIs that the central headquarters?โ€

โ€œThatโ€™s right,โ€ he confirmed with a nod.

โ€œGot it. Thanks.โ€ I flashed a faint smile and lowered my gaze, casually fiddling with my phone.

Meanwhile, out of the corner of my eye, I saw the police officer widen his eyes in surprise as he saw the screen of my phone.
