Chapter 552: Omega Is Easy to Bully

Hayleyโ€™s POV

He tried to reason with me, saying, โ€œWhat I mean is that everyone deserves a chance to change. You should be forgiving.โ€ Forgiving? That was just a fancy way of telling me to accept injustice in silence. If I revealed my true identity as an Alpha right now, he wouldnโ€™t dare push me to be forgiving. But in his eyes, I was nothing more than an easy target, just an Omega he could pressure without consequence.

Without looking up, I rejected his words outright. โ€œSorry, but I was never taught to tolerate people who disrespect me.โ€

His expression twisted in frustration. โ€œFine, I see you know how to argue!โ€ He had a short temper, losing control so easily that he completely forgot Benjamin was standing right beside me. His anger flared as he showed his fangs and lashed out at me.

Benjaminโ€™s frown deepened, ready to step in, but I calmed him down. I met the officerโ€™s gaze with calm determination, waiting for him to continue.

โ€œIf thatโ€™s the case, then letโ€™s handle this by the book. You claim you were harassed, but whereโ€™s the proof? And that girl? Sheโ€™s on your side, so her testimony doesnโ€™t count. If you canโ€™t provide solid evidence, get ready to face charges for making false accusations and fraud!โ€

His words made me chuckle. Was he truly dismissing a witnessโ€™s statement so easily? He was just a low-ranking officer, yet he acted as if he had the authority to decide whose words mattered.

Before I could respond, he gestured toward the officers beside him and barked, โ€œTake these two troublemakers to the detention room immediately! Theyโ€™re twisting the truth and trying to extort money!โ€

Just then, an unexpected figure appeared. Odessa strode in on high heels. โ€œWait!โ€ She directly halted the officers before they could lay a hand on me.

Odessaโ€™s POV:

I scanned the room, my gaze settling on the Ortega brothers standing across from me. A wave of unease washed over me. If I had arrived even a moment later, Benjamin would have openly clashed with the Ortegas over Hayley. That wasnโ€™t our territory; it was theirs. Midnight Pack had no authority here. Tyrone was to blame for this mess. If he had just told me from the start that Benjamin was at the station, I wouldnโ€™t have had to push him so hard for answers. Now, things had escalated to a dangerous point.

Keeping my voice firm, I stated, โ€œNo one can be judged without clear evidence. I visited the car shop earlier, and most of the areas accessible to customers have security cameras. Letโ€™s check the footage, and the truth will be obvious.โ€

As I spoke, I subtly observed Hayleyโ€™s expression. I wasnโ€™t standing up for her out of kindness. She was engaged to Benjamin, which meant she had a high chance of becoming the Midnight Packโ€™s future Luna. Her actions would reflect on the Southwells. Besides, we were dealing with the Ortegasโ€™ most privileged sons. One wrong move could spiral into a full-blown feud between our families.

Whether Hayley would truly become Midnight Packโ€™s Luna was still uncertain. But if we damaged our relationship with the Ortegas, repairing it would be nearly impossible. Once we reviewed the footage, if Hayley had been wronged, then fine. But if she hadnโ€™t, I could use my position as an elder to de-escalate the situation before it got out of hand.

I requested the car shop staff to pull up the surveillance videos, but the manager merely shrugged and said nonchalantly, โ€œUnfortunately, our security system malfunctioned a few days ago, and itโ€™s currently under maintenance. None of the cameras have been working lately.โ€

โ€œAs a law-abiding business, donโ€™t you think I would have already provided the footage if I had it? Why would I need you to remind me?โ€

His response irritated me. Without video evidence, the blame would undoubtedly fall on Hayley, just as they had claimed earlier. I exhaled slowly, suppressing my frustration. Benjamin had everything it took to be a perfect Alpha, yet his biggest flaw was his inability to judge people correctlyโ€”especially when it came to choosing a Luna.

I had always believed Hayley was no good. Not only was she an Omega, which put her at the bottom of the werewolf hierarchy, but she also lacked integrity. She wanted to marry Benjamin and take the Luna position, yet here she was, stirring up trouble with the Ortegas. But now wasnโ€™t the time to dwell on that. As long as she was still engaged to Benjamin, I had to clean up the mess she had left behind.

Taking a deep breath, I forced a polite smile and approached Daniel and Jonah.
