Alpha Hayleyโs Destined Mate
Chapter 604: Who Are You Looking For?
โIs anyone home? Anybody here?!โ the lead officer shouted loudly at the door.
โWhoโs there? Are you here to collect a debt or something, shouting so urgently?โ May quickly rushed to the door and opened it.
As soon as the door swung open, a group of five or six people pushed their way inside.
โHey, hey, hey, who are you looking for?โ May stepped forward to block their path.
โAre you Virginia Sander?โ one of the officers asked.
โNo,โ May answered, shaking her head.
โThen who are you?โ the officer pressed.
โIโm the lady of the house!โ May announced loudly, standing her ground.
โIn that case, you can call Virginia out. We need to take her with us,โ the officer said.
โI donโt know anyone named Virginia,โ May replied, irritation creeping into her voice. โYou came all the way to the Carsonsโ house looking for someone named Virginia Sander?โ
โIf you donโt know her, stop wasting our time with useless chatter,โ the officer snapped, brushing past her and continuing into the house.
May hesitated for a moment but, seeing their uniforms, didnโt dare stop them. She jogged ahead, leading them through the house.
Outside in the yard, Virginia was taking a stroll with Dorothy. When Freya spotted her, she hurried over, feigning concern, and quickly placed a hand on Virginiaโs arm. โWhat are you doing out here? Youโre Mrs. Sanders; why are you taking care of someone else like a servant?โ
Daniel, following closely behind, added his voice to the mock concern. โExactly, just come with us. Freya has been so worried about you.โ
Before Virginia could react, the two of them each grabbed an arm, holding her firmly in place, preventing her from moving.
Turning to the officers, Freya said, โWe found her, officer.โ
The officer nodded. โThen take her back.โ
Freya had briefed the officers beforehand about Virginiaโs mental condition, explaining that her moments of clarity were rare. She had gone missing before, and the Carsons had taken her in. They were now there to bring her back. A person with a mental illness didnโt have the right to decide where they could live. The guardian held the authority to either keep them at home or take them to a hospital, but they couldnโt just stay with strangers.
Virginia struggled, jerking her arm free from Freyaโs hold. โIโm not going! Iโm not going back!โ she cried out.
Before Virginia could get away, the bodyguards Freya had brought stepped forward and forciblyโฆ
Chapter 604: Who Are You Looking For?
Hayleyโs POV:
โStop right there!โ Benjamin and I had just walked in from the backyard when we witnessed the scene unfolding before us.
Watching them drag my biological mother away like this, treating her so callously, filled me with rage. Inside me, Hera was already boiling with fury, ready to lash out and tear them all apart!
โWhat the hell do you think youโre doing?!โ Benjamin roared, his voice deep and powerful, sending a wave of intimidation across the room. โYouโre trying to take someone right in front of me?โ
โTaking someone? Iโm just bringing my mom back home. Do I need your permission to do that?โ
โBenjamin, you might be the Alpha of Midnight Pack, but that doesnโt give you the right to interfere with my familyโs business!โ Freya sneered, her voice dripping with disdain.
She then turned to the officers and added, โOfficers, weโll be taking her with us.โ
The officer nodded. โItโs time to take her back to where she belongs.โ
โI dare anyone to try and take her!โ I shouted, unable to contain my fury any longer. My fists clenched as I glared at them, my voice full of pure rage.
โStay out of this!โ the officer snapped at me, clearly offended by my challenge to his authority.
โHer own daughter wants to see her mother, and you think you can stop that?โ
โYouโre trying to keep her without her family memberโs permission? Thatโs illegal confinement! Do you even know what that means? Youโll end up behind bars for this!โ the police officer warned.
โWho says her family member doesnโt agree?โ I said, narrowing my eyes at the officer.
โSo youโre saying her family member agreed to this? Why havenโt I heard about it?โ The officer gave me a dismissive look, like I was speaking nonsense.
โI agreed,โ I replied, my voice firm and resolute. My wolf eyes flashed with intensity as I locked eyes with him.
