Alpha Hayleyโs Destined Mate
Chapter 611: Private Cell
Hayleyโs POV:
As soon as we arrived at Greenhill Hospital, we were stopped at the entrance. A guard, baring his sharp wolf fangs, said menacingly, โSorry, but without the patientโs familyโs consent, you canโt go in!โ He stood in front of the iron gate.
โWe are the family of the patients staying here, Alan and Peter. Why canโt we go in?โ Virginia retorted.
โThatโs not for me to know. Our rule is clearโno one gets in without a note signed by Hospital Director Mr. Clark,โ the guard said coldly.
โNo exceptions!!โ He remained icy.
โWhat a load of cr*p!โ Virginia swore in frustration. It was the first time I had ever heard her curse.
โI need your permission to see my husband and son? This isnโt a hospital; itโs more like a private prison youโve set up!โ she exclaimed.
โEven though this city has an Alpha King, itโs governed jointly by several major families. Donโt forget, the Sanders family is one of the ruling families!โ
โI am Mrs. Sanders. My husband is the heir of the Sanders family. Who are you, a Beta guard, to stop me from seeing my husband?โ Virginia thundered, her presence exuding a strength Iโd never seen in her before. Both Hera and I were thrilled. Our mother, like us, would never bow down to bullies!
โSay what you want, but without a signed authorization, no one is getting in,โ the guard maintained, unmoved.
โSo what if youโre Mrs. Sanders? Donโt think I donโt knowโthe real control of the Sanders family isnโt in your husbandโs hands, or yours!โ His tone was mocking.
โThis is illegal detention! Does the law mean nothing to you?โ Virginia transformed, turning into her wolf form and roaring as she advanced on the guard.
But these guards, though merely of Beta rank, were clearly well-trained enforcers. Virginia was no match for them. With a mere push, the leading guard sent Virginia stumbling backward, almost causing her to fall. Thankfully, I reacted quickly and caught her. Hera was urging me to switch, eager to come out and give them a good beating. I held back, staying rational. Now wasnโt the time to reveal my Alpha identity. Besides, these people werenโt worth Heraโs effort; I could handle it myself.
โIโm fine,โ Virginia sighed, shaking her head. โMichelle, as you can see, we canโt get in.โ
โThese guards not only transform into wolves to intimidate us, but the security inside the hospital also illegally carries firearms.โ
โI tried years ago to break Alan and Peter out, but it came to nothingโฆโ
โOh? Guns?โ I released Virginia and stepped in front of her, facing the guard myself. โIf I remember correctly, no werewolf hospital in this city is permitted to carry firearms. Where did you get authorization for guns?โ I asked sharply, locking eyes with him.
โNone of your business!โ The guard glared at me arrogantly, showing no respect. I clenched my fists, anger rising within meโฆ
In Roy Clarkโs office at Greenhill Hospital, Freya sipped her hot coffee leisurely, her legs crossed, looking entirely composed. She had received word of Hayley and the others while they were still en route, allowing her ample time to get here first. After giving Roy a few instructions and providing a hefty donation, he was so pleased that he even called back the high-ranking Beta guards on standby. Now, with the hospital gates tightly shut and the guards armed, Hayley and her companions had no chance of getting their loved ones outโunless they grew wings.
Knock, knock. A sudden knock on the door made Freya look upโฆ
