Chapter 612: Alpha King Arrived

โ€œEverything is ready,โ€ Daniel said calmly, standing in the doorway.

With the Ortegas no longer supporting him, he still held the title of Freyaโ€™s fiancรฉ, but in reality, his role was no different from that of a high-level assistant.

โ€œUnderstood,โ€ Freya casually placed her cup on the coffee table and stood, walking toward the door. Her gaze was cold and unemotional; each step measured and deliberate. Daniel trailed behind her, watching her decisive figure with a hint of calculation in his eyes. This woman was willing to sacrifice even her own father and brother. How much longer could he, her fiancรฉ, expect to survive? For now, Freya needed him to deal with Alan and Peter, so she valued him. But what would happen once this was over? Freya had already started looking for leverage against him. He needed to prepare in advance. His wolf grew increasingly uneasy around her; this woman was ruthless to the core.

Hayleyโ€™s POV:

I struggled to contain the urge to let Hera out and sink her teeth into the guardโ€™s throat, standing face-to-face with him. After a moment, I irritably checked the time on my phone, feeling a bit more composed. He should be here by now.

The guard, growing impatient, sneered, โ€œI advise you to stop waiting. You wonโ€™t get into this hospital. Mr. Clark has powerful connections, you know?โ€

โ€œOh,โ€ I nodded calmly. The next second, I heard the sound of a car pulling up behind me. Hera caught a familiar scent, and I knew he had arrived. I turned around to see a Cadillac stopping in front of me. The door opened, and a strikingly handsome middle-aged man with glasses stepped out. He exuded an overwhelming Alpha presence, parting the crowd effortlessly as he made his way to me.

Samson greeted me with a slight complaint, โ€œYouโ€™ve been in town all this time and havenโ€™t come to see me?โ€

โ€œBusy,โ€ I replied with a smile.

โ€œNo matter how busy, thereโ€™s always time for a meal. Your auntโ€™s been missing you. This month, you must find a day to come back with me!โ€ Samson insisted.

โ€œLetโ€™s talk about that later,โ€ I deflected, then nodded towards the entrance of Greenhill Hospital. โ€œLetโ€™s deal with this first.โ€

I mocked, โ€œIn your jurisdiction, thereโ€™s such an arrogant hospital that wonโ€™t let family see their patients.โ€

He gave a resigned smile and explained, โ€œIโ€™ve just taken over as Alpha King. Do you think I have a lot of free time? Though the Claytons are the foremost of the great families, managing hospitals is a trivial matter left to the other families. Itโ€™s not something we typically concern ourselves with.โ€

I shrugged, not bothering to reply. Noticing my irritation, he tried to placate me with a smile, then signaled his aide with a glance. His aide strode over to the guard and demanded, โ€œWhoโ€™s in charge here?โ€

โ€œI am!โ€ The lead guard puffed out his chest.

โ€œOpen the gate. The Alpha King wants to inspect the hospital.โ€

โ€œAlpha King? Iโ€™m an Alpha myself! No signed authorization, no entry!โ€ The guard scoffed, not believing a word.

The aide wasted no time arguing, transforming into a formidable silver wolf, baring sharp fangs. The guard wavered, recognizing the aideโ€™s high-ranking statusโ€”only the Alpha King could have such a wolf as an aide. After confirming the identity through his own wolfโ€™s senses, the guard dropped to his knees in fear.

โ€œNow, can you open the gate?โ€ the aide growled.

The guard quivered on the ground, stammering, โ€œY-yes, Iโ€™ll open it right away!โ€

After unlocking the gate, he crawled over to Samson and me, begging for forgiveness. โ€œForgive me, Alpha King, I didnโ€™t recognize you in time due to my low rank. I swear by the Moon Goddess, I had no part in whatโ€™s happening inside!โ€

Seeing this display, Virginia, who had been silent, pulled me aside and whispered, โ€œMichelle, how do you know Mr. Clayton?โ€

โ€œHeโ€™s a member of the Claytons, one of the foremost families in the city, and our stateโ€™s Alpha King!โ€

Feigning confusion, I replied, โ€œI donโ€™t know him well. I asked a friend to get his help.โ€

Virginia eyed me suspiciously, clearly not buying my story.
