Chapter 807 Sheโs a Shameless Thief
Hayleyโs POV:
โDonโt change the subject. Weโre talking about you right now. Itโs fine if you wonโt listen to me, but you just came back to the Sander family. Are you that eager to go against Dadโs wishes already?"
โYouโre just an Omega. Do you even understand the hierarchy and rules werewolves live by?โ Freya snapped at me furiously.
I let out a mocking laugh and said with a meaningful look, โIโm not the only one defying him, am I? I should actually thank you for teaching me that thereโs no need to follow rules or etiquette. Just do as you please, right?โ
โSpare me the excuses! Are you handing over the gemstone or not?โ A vicious glint flashed in Freyaโs wolfish gaze.
Of course, I knew what she was up to.
If I gave up the gemstone, sheโd be hailed as the one who brought an invaluable asset to the Sanders.
If I refused, sheโd use it to drive a wedge between me and the family.
No matter which path I took, sheโd win.
But I had no intention of letting her have the upper hand.
Just as I was about to speak, Hera picked up on a familiar scent.
Knowing that person had arrived, I knew everything was in place.
Now, I just had to wait and watch Freya make a fool of herself.
Just then, a burst of static suddenly crackled from the massive temporary screen in the manor. It started off sharp and jarring, then gradually faded to a softer hum.
As the noise died down, the screen playing Sander Groupโs promotional video abruptly went dark.
The technician managing the screen immediately stepped forward to fix it. However, before he could do so, the screen came back on with a sharp flicker.
But instead of the promotional video, it had been replaced by a slideshow that began to play automatically, one slide after another at just the right pace.
The slideshow exposed all the dirty deals Freya had done over the years by leveraging the Sandersโ power, with Daniel as her partner in crime.
She had grown used to laundering money for gangs behind the shareholdersโ backs. She was a total hypocrite, always saying one thing and doing another. Strong-arming people into unfair trades was the tip of the iceberg of her wrongdoings.
What truly shocked everyone was that Freya had embezzled company funds repeatedly, with the total sum nearing a billion dollars. In the most recent instance, she had siphoned off a hundred million twice in just three days.
In other words, Freya wasnโt as selfless as she claimed. If anything, she was nothing but a shameless thief,
She kept siphoning off the Sandersโ assets into her own pocket, dragging the familyโs reputation through the mud.
Today, I wanted these so-called elites of werewolf society to see exactly who she really was.
Gasps of disbelief rippled through the room as the slideshow played on.
Even Alan, who had been standing by Freyaโs side the entire time, stared at her in disbelief and growled, โYouโd better give me a good explanation!โ
Flustered, Freya lowered her head but continued to defend herself. โDad, this isnโt true! Someoneโs trying to frame me!
โThey deliberately released this at todayโs event. Their intention is clearโthey just want to ruin the Sanders' reputation so that they can take over the packs we manage.
โTheyโre only doing this because Iโve been holding up the Sanders all these years and havenโt let our enemies tear us down!โ
I nearly burst out laughing at the nonsense she was spewing.
With such talent for fabrication, it was a shame she hadnโt pursued screenwriting in Hollywood.
But Alan actually seemed somewhat convinced, as his expression softened slightly.
He said in a low voice, โLetโs leave it at that for now. Iโll get someone to look into it. But later, youโd better explain to me exactly where that hundred million went.โ
I spoke up before Freya could. โNo need to wait. Whether itโs true or not, there are people who can verify it.
With that, I turned toward the crowd and called out loudly, โCaptain Langston, I know youโre here. Come on out.โ
