Su Chen glanced at Pei Man as he heard the news, surprised by the unexpected connection.

"You look at me like that, it's hard not to overthink," Pei Man teased, noticing his expression.

"You say that, and it's really hard not to overthink," Su Chen chuckled softly. "Alright, let's chat after eating; otherwise, it will all get cold."

The Pei family patriarch called everyone to dinner.

An hour or so after dinner, Su Chen remained still. The patriarch then inquired, "Do you two have any evening plans?"

"If you don't mind, I can have Pei Song take you out. He knows Yandu well," the patriarch offered.

Yunlong, who had long heard of it in Jiangnan, nervously suggested, "I've heard there's a thrilling underground boxing ring in City South. I'd like to see it."

Su Chen, having no other plans, agreed. "Since you want to go, let's check it out. But we won't trouble Young Master Pei."

"It's no trouble. Pei Song, accompany Mr. Su and Mr. Yun," the patriarch ordered.

"Yes, Grandfather," Pei Song replied, inwardly reluctant. He couldn't understand why his grandfather valued Su Chen so highly. The man was simply skilled in medicine, wasn't he? As for Yunlong, while he knew of the Yun family of Jiangnan, they held little interest for him. Nevertheless, he obeyed his grandfather's command.

"Alright, go then. Pei Song, take good care of our guests," the patriarch instructed.

"Yes, Grandfather."

Pei Song, leading in his Maserati, and Yunlong following in Su Chen's Buick, drove towards City South.

After everyone left, the patriarch summoned Pei Man to his study. "Mannie, something feels off," he said softly.

"Grandfather, I feel it too," Pei Man replied, frowning slightly. "I've considered several possibilities."

"Let's hear them." The patriarch valued his granddaughter's opinion.

"First, his attitude toward our family, especially his initial question, was quite disrespectful—something others wouldn't dare ask," Pei Man began. "Second, he seems indifferent, yet showed great interest in the 'Su family' person you mentioned, asking several questions, despite appearing casual."

The patriarch observed, "But I brought that up; he merely followed my lead."

"But Grandfather, he steered the conversation. He began by asking about prominent Yandu families, then about notable figures in recent decades, prompting you to mention that person," Pei Man countered. "The conversation about that person was entirely driven by him."

"Now that you mention it..." the patriarch nodded slowly.

"Furthermore, Grandfather, you might have missed this: when you revealed that person's identity, his expression changed. He tried to hide it, but I saw his hand shake, spilling his drink. That's unlike his usual composure."

"He said he was lost in thought," the patriarch reminded her.

"No, I believe his purpose was to inquire about that person," Pei Man stated seriously.

"Why?" The patriarch's body shook; his complexion changed drastically. The implication was significant.

"Grandfather, I have a theory. Help me judge it," Pei Man said hesitantly.

"Okay," the patriarch nodded gravely.

"Grandfather, could he be the missing boy you spoke of?" Pei Man asked cautiously.

The patriarch leaped to his feet, trembling. "He… he… how could he possibly...?" His voice was filled with shock.

"Grandfather, he also has the surname Su, and he's around the age you mentioned," Pei Man continued, watching him intently. "His unusual interest in that person, his loss of composure, and even his attitude towards our family, strongly suggest he is that boy."

The patriarch felt increasingly uneasy.

"It's not that severe; if he is that boy, he's likely merely suspicious. He probably doubts all five major families, explaining his attitude," Pei Man mused. "Didn't he ask you before dinner if you'd ever done evil deeds? He must have been referring to that incident."

"Mm-hmm, you're right," the patriarch agreed. "But why does he think he can succeed? Because of his former position as Chief Instructor?"

"Grandfather, I've interacted with him only a few times, but he's unfathomable. The first person I've been unable to read!" Pei Man declared earnestly. "If our speculation is correct, he definitely has the capability and the means to unveil the truth of what happened that year."

"If so, Yandu will see great changes!" the patriarch murmured.

"Grandfather, don't worry; it's still speculation," Pei Man said with a light smile.

"How can we confirm it? He won't admit it."

"Tonight," Pei Man said with a mysterious, confident smile. "The underground fight club they're going to is run by the Su family's second young master, right? If he truly is that person, something big will happen there tonight!"
