Chapter 204
Francis was childish and stupid, but too proud to apologize. He lit a cigarette and took a drag. The door opened, and Finnian walked in, squinting at Francis, who was lost in thought. Finnian had done so for his pride, though he didn’t have the right to tell Francis what to do. Francis tossed his clothes and belongings into his bag. When he left with the bag, Francis snapped back to reality, surprised by his actions. He turned toward Francis.
"Won't the shooting be over tomorrow? We can't leave until tomorrow morning," Finnian said, getting up. Francis looked back at Finnian. Finnian explained, then strode away determinedly.
"One of us. He is now a member of Group B. Just let him go," Atlas said through gritted teeth. "He's become an eyesore to many people in this show. He should apologize to the people he offended."
"Where can he go? There are only two houses for us, and he will have nowhere to stay," Finnian argued.
They were standing outside with luggage. Finnian turned to Francis and asked, "Would you like to stay in my room tonight? It's spacious enough for two." Francis, ignoring the offer, walked to Stellan. He went to the house of Group B. Atlas quarreled with Francis because Atlas thought Francis dining with Group B was a scandal. Francis didn't want to be entangled with Atlas anymore, so he moved.
Chapter 204
Finnian sat, finding the area outside Group W's house clean and neat, though it was getting late. He felt starved, having eaten nothing that day. He looked up at the sky, feeling lost and helpless. These negative feelings lingered even after the shooting. The Lark family had stopped supporting him and told him to move out; in other words, he was kicked out of the game. Without their backing, where could he go? He sought a way out, but his connections and resources were tied to the Lark family. He was now a nobody. He thought, and his head ached. For his own good, he would have to try tonight.
"Odalys." His voice was hoarse and deep. The name felt strange on his lips; he felt like he didn't know Odalys at all. He wondered how an old acquaintance could become a stranger overnight.
[All of them are insane. Poor Francis.] [I don't like Stellan, but I'll be his fan from today on. He seems aloof, but much nicer than those jerks in Group A.] [Am I the only person curious about the fortune-tellings about Stellan and Francis?]
While viewers discussed this, Francis put down his luggage and helped Stellan make the bed. The woods added to the atmosphere.
Night fell. The village lacked streetlights; pale moonlight shone on the ground. Vague bird chirping added a creepy vibe to the quiet village. Knocks sounded on the door.
"Don't open the door if the visitor says nothing. The visitor" They were vigilant after Rafael's incident.
Selah, wearing a face mask, heard the knocks, looked toward the living room, and asked, "Who's here at this late hour?" The visitor might not be human; Freya shook her head.
They checked closets and under beds upon returning. They wouldn't sit until confirming no strangers were present. Therefore, opening the door at midnight was impossible.
"The visitor will say something if they're an acquaintance." Odalys put on a face mask Freya gave her. The three women sat cross-legged on the bed, talking quietly. The knocking became rapid, but no one answered.
After a while, Stellan opened his bedroom door, glanced at the living room door, then went to his companions.
"It's me." Stellan knocked on the door. Selah quickly opened it.
In a loose T-shirt and gray pants, Stellan said, "Someone's knocking. Should we answer?"
"Don't open unless the visitor speaks," Odalys said coldly. She knew deliberate disregard would agitate the visitor.
As Stellan turned to leave, Sophia called from outside.
"Odalys, it's me! Open up. I need to talk." Sophia's sweet voice was heard.
Stellan didn't answer. He stood staring, dazed.
Chapter 204
Francis entered the living room, exchanging a glance with Stellan.
"Silence. Let's see when she gives up," Selah whispered. She knew Sophia was up to no good. Sophia should have contacted the film crew, not Group B, if in trouble. Also, one would normally give up after so long. Her persistence suggested she wasn't in trouble.
"Odalys, I know you're awake! Come out! Something's up!" Sophia sounded agitated.
