Chapter 39

Early in the morning, over three million people were already waiting in the livestream chatroom. Everyone witnessed the unfolding events in real time. Those who had previously doubted Odalys' predictive abilities fell silent. Meanwhile, paparazzi scrambled to investigate her claims.

[Found it! A while back, someone shared footage of Atlas's car being trashed. I managed to get the surveillance tape—it shows Odalys rescuing him alone. She even carried him to the hospital in the rain.]

[My brother frequents those clubs. He just got security footage from the boss—it turns out Atlas got drunk and attacked someone. The guy's head was busted open, and afterward, Atlas called Odalys to take the blame.]

[Wait, Sophia's in the corner of the footage! Atlas started the fight because of her; she provoked him. Oh my God, Sophia's even smoking!]

Ever-resourceful internet users mobilized their networks. Within minutes, they located the places Odalys mentioned and easily obtained more surveillance footage. They even called the police station to confirm the aftermath: Odalys had cleaned up the entire mess.

Fans who had previously defended Sophia fell silent. The released surveillance videos stunned them, and some immediately began digging up dirt on Sophia.

Within moments, Twitter exploded with hashtags and phrases like:

  • OdalysTakesTheFall

  • OdalysExonerated

  • OdalysPsychicMaster

  • SophiaSmokingAndProvoking

These trends shot to the top. Everyone wanted to know more about Odalys, only to discover she didn't even have a Twitter account. No one could find any personal information about her. Odalys was so mysterious, she seemed almost otherworldly, as if she had appeared out of nowhere. Public curiosity about her reached fever pitch.

Last night, the Bennett family had been frantic over the storm at sea. After finally getting some rest, they woke to find the Atlas and Sophia livestream had gone viral. Worse, Atlas's confrontation with Odalys led her to expose all his secrets on air.

Furious, Henry slammed his phone on the table. Pacing the living room with a hand on his hip, he fumed. "Is Atlas out of his mind? If he had questions, couldn't he have asked her privately? What was he thinking?"

"Now look at the mess he's caused! Everything's out in the open. Several companies about to sign contracts with him just called to cancel," Henry added, his voice rising.

Hannah stared at the livestream replay. She gasped, nearly fainting, until Caspian quickly shoved a pill into her mouth, keeping her conscious.

Caspian said urgently, "The surveillance footage is out there! Atlas's reputation is doomed. We can't save him, but we must protect Sophia. Get the PR team to hire bots and suppress this. If we don't, once this reality show ends, Sophia won't stand a chance in this industry. She's always dreamed of breaking into the entertainment industry. If she finds out… it's all over. I'm worried about what she might do."

Hearing this, Henry glared sharply at Caspian. He said coldly, "Hire bots? Every single one of our PR accounts has been reported and banned. Overnight, they were all wiped out. PR just informed me they've even received official warnings."

Henry gulped down a glass of water, his frustration deepening the lines on his face.

"Have we pissed someone off? Who would go to such lengths against us? Is someone working with Odalys deliberately?" Hannah said through gritted teeth, her voice trembling with anger.

At the mention of Odalys' name, bitterness surged within her. Hannah couldn't believe she'd given birth to such a troublesome daughter. Letting her return had been her biggest mistake.

"Who could we have offended? People in business wouldn't do this openly," Caspian muttered. "All we did was arrange for Odalys to take that marriage deal two days ago."

Hearing this, Henry and Hannah froze, staring at him in shock.

"I had no idea," Caspian defended quickly, fearing he'd be blamed.

However, Henry stood still, thoughtful. He said in a low voice, "It all started after the wedding arrangement. Ever since, Emily's faced one problem after another. Even our company's operations are being suppressed, and no one in the industry wants to work with us. Our bots are gone, and we can't control the trending topics. It feels like someone's intentionally targeting us."

"Could it be the Stewart family? But how could they intervene for Odalys after just one night? She probably hasn't even met them all yet. Why would they protect her?"

Henry grabbed his car keys and left. "I'm going to get some answers," he said before driving off.

Meanwhile, Hannah clenched her fists, glaring at the livestream replay, her face twisted with rage. "When she gets back, I'll break her legs," she hissed, channeling her frustration toward Odalys.

Caspian remained silent, lost in thought, observing the online uproar. After picking up the phone and handing it back to Hannah, he left quietly. No one knew where he was going.

"The Stewart family? I need to find out," Hannah replied. She took a deep breath, searching for the Stewart family's contact number. After hesitating briefly, she dialed.

The phone rang twice before being answered. Hannah inhaled sharply and spoke, "Hello, this is Hannah from—"

Click. The line went dead.

Hannah froze, staring at the disconnected call. The faint beep of the dial tone echoed in her ears. She wanted to call again, but her trembling hands couldn't summon the courage.

"They hung up on me? That couldn't have been the Stewart family. It couldn't have been," Hannah muttered, trying to calm her growing panic.

The situation was spiraling out of control. For the first time, Hannah regretted letting her children join the reality show. Originally, Hannah had planned for Sophia to act coquettishly to secure the highly coveted drama lead role everyone in the industry desired. To achieve this, Hannah had tried to curry favor with Kenny, but it backfired.

Chapter 39 (Continued)

On the island, deep within the forest, Finnian and Lucian stood near Odalys as she approached.

"Odalys," Finnian called, walking toward her quickly.

Before he could reach her, Freya darted forward, cutting him off. She latched onto Odalys' arm with a bright smile. "Darling, are you hungry?" she asked softly.

"A little," Odalys replied with a small laugh.

Selah hurried over and suggested, "How about we go find something to eat?"

"Sounds good!" Odalys agreed.

The three women headed back toward camp, with Stellan trailing behind. As he passed Finnian, he slowed, giving him a cold, pointed look.

"Odalys is part of my group. I'd appreciate it if your group stayed out of our business," Stellan said icily. "And let's not have any more incidents involving theft," he added, his voice low but full of warning.
