Chapter 40

Lucian's face flushed crimson with embarrassment. He hadn't expected anyone to discover his meat-snatching escapade the previous night. He wanted nothing more than to vanish—he was mortified.

"I need to talk to Odalys about something private," Finnian said sullenly.

Stellan let out a low laugh, a trace of mockery in his rugged features as he looked down at Finnian with utter disdain.

"Do you think Odalys looks like she wants to discuss anything private with you?" Stellan retorted. "I've only known her for two days, and even I can tell she can't stand you. If you're a man, you'll back off and stop pestering her."

He continued, "But honestly, Group A, you have some nerve. All you do is dodge responsibility. Too bad Odalys is with Group B. So do us all a favor and get lost."

Stellan didn't care about the livestream. If he didn't make things clear, these people wouldn't understand.

[Damn it! Stellan is so handsome! His sharp tongue is as vicious as ever! Protecting his group's women—absolutely the right move!] [Used to think Stellan was too aloof, but now I get it! He just can't be bothered with idiots. Love him!] [Freya was so cute shoving Finnian aside! Hilarious!] [Finnian is so creepy. Why does he keep harassing Odalys? Can't he see how much she dislikes him? Disgusting. I saw that video of him cornering her at night. Gross.]

Viewers quickly voiced their opinions. Finnian's fans remained silent, knowing the situation was beyond repair. Their earlier thrill at the attention shifting to Sophia and Atlas was completely overshadowed by Finnian's blunder. Some even began questioning if Group A was cursed; their reputation had been plummeting since the team's formation.

"You!" Finnian's voice shook with anger, but Stellan's icy stare made him hesitate. Remembering Stellan's connections, he swallowed his fury and turned away.

"Let's go, Lucian," Finnian said finally.

Lucian nodded quickly. "We only ate a little meat last night. We should look for more food today. Maybe the storm washed up some fish or shrimp on the beach," he suggested. He thought, We can't keep starving. If this continues, we'll be the laughingstock of the internet.

Lucian was smart and cautious, minimizing his presence. He worried that a poorly received livestream would bring unwanted backlash.

After a while, Finnian agreed with a curt nod. As they approached a nearby clearing, they saw the staff had already cleared an area.

Kenny walked over. "Your stuff got wet last night. You should let it dry. There's good sunlight near the beach."

Hearing this, Finnian and Lucian returned to their cave. Their expressions froze upon entering.

Chapter 40 (Continued)

Two snakes were coiled around their suitcases. Staff members had already killed and removed them. Finnian and Lucian rushed to carry their luggage outside.

"Uh, what's that on your suitcase?" Lucian asked, pointing.

Finnian frowned, noticing a pink piece of fabric stuck to his suitcase. It was a woman's underwear. His fingers stiffened. He thought, It has to belong to Sophia.

"Let's just leave it," Finnian muttered, tossing it onto a nearby branch before rubbing his hands and walking off.

Thankfully, his suitcase had held up well; most belongings were only slightly damp.

Soon, Sophia and Atlas returned, dragging their suitcases to dry.

"That's yours, right?" Finnian asked Sophia, nodding toward the underwear.

Sophia froze, her face paling. She rushed to retrieve it, shoving it into her bag.

"Next time, keep it off my luggage," Finnian said flatly, laying out his clothes. "Don't want people getting the wrong idea."

Sophia stared at his back, bitterness surging through her. It felt like everyone had turned against her.

"We should dry our things and head to the beach for food," Finnian said to Atlas. They needed to stick together.

Atlas nodded. "If you're not feeling up to it, you can rest. We can handle it," he told Sophia quietly.

Sophia forced a smile. "No, I'll come with you." She thought, Odalys is ruining my image. I can't let her win. And with the cameras rolling, I can't fall behind. She didn't realize hidden cameras were also broadcasting their every move.

Atlas patted her head reassuringly. Sophia ducked her head, avoiding his touch. The pink undergarment remained visible in her luggage.

At the shore, they found fish and shrimp left by the receding tide.

"There's quite a bit. They're dead, but they'll do," Finnian said with relief.

Chapter 10

Having something is better than nothing. At sea, food is scarce; let's focus on staying full, Finnian thought.

"Yeah, we can dry them like Group B did. They'll keep longer," Lucian said, joining the others.

Sophia's forced smile faltered. She felt useless compared to Group B. Gritting her teeth, she focused on collecting as much as she could. The smell of dead fish made her stomach churn. "Maybe I should gather firewood instead?" she asked softly.

The others didn't object. "Sure, but grab plenty," Finnian replied dismissively.

Sophia's hands clenched. "Plenty? Are you kidding me? Can't you show a little consideration?"

Despite her frustration, she nodded and said with a strained smile, "Got it."

As she walked away, she noticed no one followed. It was as if the task was entirely hers. Tears pricked her eyes, but when she saw a camera, she smiled and waved.

"Off to gather firewood!" Sophia called cheerfully. "Soon we'll have seafood! Isn't nature generous?"
