Chapter 394

This was a fate worse than death.

"Serves him right," Selah said with satisfaction.

Rafael moved his lips, but a foul odor escaped his mouth. He spat subconsciously. He could smell the stench of his own saliva, and his lower body had begun to rot. The disgusting smell of decay filled his nostrils.

He struggled to get up, but the damaged nerves in his palms couldn't support his weight. His fingernails had turned black, and whenever he tried to crawl, a thick, black liquid oozed from beneath them.

At that moment, his regret peaked. He couldn't believe he was crippled and rotting away before he could even sleep with Freya. He was filled with resentment. He tried to speak, but his tongue was stiff.

Rafael screamed and struggled in agony. Thick, black blood filled his mouth, leaving him unable to spit. The giant python's venom was swift and potent. It wouldn't kill him outright, but it would make his life a living hell.

"You've done so much evil and killed so many women. Have you ever thought about what happened to your victims?" Selah fumed.

Rafael's lips moved, as if he wanted to speak, but pus oozed from his mouth. He struggled to crawl away, leaving puddles of stinking black water.

He was in despair. As he lowered his head, the few hairs he had left were blown by the wind, swaying before falling to the ground.

"My hair, my hair," he reached out and touched it. His fingertips pinched a clump of hair. The black hair fell out. Every time he touched it, more fell out. Soon, his entire head was bald.

"Save me," Rafael pleaded, looking at Odalys. He even looked at Freya with pleading eyes.

Now he finally knew there was a price to pay for doing bad things. But he never thought the price would be so cruel, or that life could be worse than death.

"I'm sorry, I was wrong," he mumbled.

It was a pity that Odalys and Freya would never help him. Seeing him reminded Freya of the day he hid in her room, trying to defile her. If Odalys hadn't drawn a protective talisman on her palm and sent him flying, the consequences would have been unimaginable.

Odalys's voice was icy cold. "It's no use begging. This is your fate. You have to pay for your evil deeds! You were a bully, and you even threatened the giant python with its child."

"You've never respected any life. You shouldn't have ended up like this, but you chose the wrong path tonight."

Rafael listened, tears and blood streaming down his cheeks. He crawled away. After crawling out of the Film Capital, he picked up his phone and was about to call the police.

Before he could call, he saw beams of light approaching. His eyes blurred. He opened his eyes wide, trying to see clearly. The light grew brighter. When he realized it was a car, it was too late to dodge. He was hit by a truck.

Chapter 394 (continued)

Rafael's body was thrown in front of the truck. The truck couldn't stop and ran over him. Pain spread throughout his body; his legs and feet were broken. The piercing pain numbed him. His eyes gradually went blind. He felt as if his body had been flattened, and many images flashed through his mind—a revolving lantern of all the terrible things he'd done: raping women, killing vulnerable people, and bullying the powerless.

Regret filled his heart, and he wanted to confess his sins. If he had known he would die such a horrible death, he would never have done such things. It was a pity he didn't even have the right to regret it.

Blood gushed from his mouth as he stared wide-eyed. He saw Odalys standing nearby, hands behind her back, staring at him judgmentally. He used to be an atheist, but at this moment, he felt she was the embodiment of justice.

He even regretted not befriending Odalys and making her happy instead of trying to defile Freya. She might have given him a talisman to protect him. After escaping last night, he'd seen news reports and realized Odalys was very powerful. She had helped many people and even assisted the police. He felt she could defy fate. If he hadn't done this tonight, maybe he would still be alive.

He didn't have the strength to think anymore. The pain in his internal organs tugged at his nerves. He looked at Freya in a daze, seeing her as the Grim Reaper. The mere thought of wanting to have his way with her had led him to his death.

"I was wrong," Rafael mumbled, but no one heard him.

The truck driver, seeing him dead, called the police. Soon the police arrived, but surveillance footage showed Rafael had run into the truck. The scene was eerie, even the police were speechless.

The forensic doctor examined his body, found drugs, and determined he had died from an overdose, leading to hallucinations and abnormal behavior. Though the truck driver hit Rafael, resulting in his death, Rafael had taken drugs. The truck driver's license was revoked for six months, and he was fined $3,000.

"Thank you, thank you," the truck driver said in disbelief. He thought he would be jailed, but the forensic doctor's findings mediated the situation.

Not far away, Odalys and the others exchanged knowing glances.

"Let's go back to eat! Dinner's on me tonight," Freya said with mixed feelings. Seeing Rafael die, she couldn't say she was happy, but at least no one would be harmed by him again. It was a relief for his victims. She felt she was finally over it.

"Yes! Let's go eat," Francis said. They drove back to the city.

Chapter 391

Although filming this blockbuster required confidentiality, several people acted so well that many scenes were shot in one take, leading to smooth shooting. The director let them come and go freely from the set, as long as they kept it secret. Therefore, they didn't live with the crew. After reporting their movements to the director, they went straight back to the city.

In the restaurant, they took a corner table, ordered a delicious meal, and even drank some beer. They were very happy.
