Chapter 395

“Do you think Rafael deserves this retribution?” Freya asked, stroking her chin.

Selah nudged her. “What else? After all the wicked things he’s done, he’s lucky to die like this,” she whispered. If killing weren’t a crime, she would have stabbed him, chopped him up, and flushed him down the sewer. That’s what she really wanted to do. She felt that if such people weren’t taught a lesson, there would be more victims. It was a pity he was taken care of by Odalys.

Thinking this, Selah looked at Odalys, her eyes flickering with admiration.

Feeling Selah’s gaze, Odalys didn’t lift her head, but covered her eyes. “Don’t look at me like that! I thought you had weird thoughts about me,” she said jokingly.

Selah wilted. “If you were a man, I’d definitely marry you. I’d bear your children. With such good genes, I’d have at least ten,” she said with a straight face.

Freya’s amusement vanished. In her opinion, Odalys belonged to Percival, and no one else could have designs on her.

“Oh my god, Selah, stop that! Don’t say it again, and don’t think about it again. Do you hear me?” Freya was anxious. She hadn’t told anyone that Odalys was married to Percival. She didn’t want to take advantage of the Stewart family or live under their halo. Keeping her status as their adopted daughter secret was one thing, but protecting Odalys was another.

“Why are you so agitated?” Selah winked.

Freya put her arms around Odalys’s shoulders, glared at everyone, and said, “I’m warning you, no matter if you’re a man or a woman, don’t even think about making a move on her, you hear me? She is Percival’s woman,” Freya said earnestly, hugging Odalys tighter. She wouldn’t dare hug her like this in front of Percival; she wouldn’t let this opportunity pass.

“You’re holding onto her so tightly, you’re not letting us!” Selah teased.

Freya turned and kissed Odalys loudly on the cheek. “See? I don’t have any improper thoughts about her,” Freya defended.

Selah rolled her eyes. “Come on now!”

Stellan and Francis were taken aback. They didn’t expect women’s inner worlds to be so…rich. They wouldn’t dare to have such thoughts.

“Odalys, how did that snake get here?” Francis asked curiously. Everyone knew Odalys had saved the little snake, and the giant python was grateful. But the little snake’s arrival in Crownridge for revenge was unexpected.

Odalys explained, “The giant python can’t leave its village, but the little snake can. It was worried about its child, so it appeared when we were leaving. I left my scent and told it to follow it to find me if it came to Crownridge.” Last night, she detected extremely strong negative energy near Bennett Villa and realized instantly that the little snake had arrived. It had been staying near Bennett Villa, still holding a grudge against Sophia, who had stolen its eggs and almost killed it. Snakes were vengeful; they would find ways to retaliate. Sophia was still unaware she was targeted.

“Did it leave, or is it following?” Stellan asked. As he spoke, a snake’s head emerged from a nearby tree, spitting at them. Stellan was startled. He knew it had come for Odalys, but didn’t expect it to appear so suddenly.

The others turned to see the little snake jump down, landing beside them. Everyone froze. Odalys beckoned. “Come here,” she said.

The little snake swam to her and wrapped itself around her wrist. Odalys took a talisman from her bag and stuck it on its head. The little snake wagged its tail. The talisman turned into golden light, covering its head. Odalys patted its head. “Don’t go too far.” The little snake disappeared.

Its cheerful departure made Selah’s goosebumps vanish. “How come it looks so happy!” she exclaimed, surprised by its happiness and mischievousness.

“It’s a snake; it doesn’t like crowded places, but it wants to follow me. So it stayed nearby. I told it to go play, and I’ll call it if I need it,” Odalys said, smiling.

The group resumed eating. Someone in the distance recognized them but didn’t dare disturb them, not even taking a picture. They respected Odalys. Many people went to her company to pray, and returned at peace. Their respect was ingrained.

“By the way, you said the general gave us good luck. How should we repay him?” Freya asked.

In Film Capital, Rafael’s appearance had interrupted Odalys. This puzzled Freya.

Odalys explained quietly, “Solve his problems appropriately, fulfill his wishes, and his wish will be granted. If his wish cannot be fulfilled, his soul will always follow me.”

The others listened with heavy hearts. Stellan asked, “How can we help him fulfill his wish? Avenge him by killing those who framed his family? But those people are long dead. Are we going to find their descendants?” Finding them would be easy, given his family’s power; he was just afraid he couldn’t rely on his family.

“Remember the old man in the village whose house was filled with dyed cloth?” Odalys asked.

The others’ eyes lit up. “Of course,” they said in unison.
